Ethan had a hearty meal with his family after a long time. For those few hours, he completely forgot about the war and everything that had happened outside. He simply enjoyed sitting with everyone and listening to their voices. After the meal was over, he finally went to meet his children.

The moment he entered the place where they were staying, several of the older children immediately became excited when they saw him. Some of them rushed toward him while others called his name and surrounded him.

But not everyone reacted that way.

Some of the younger children simply stared at him from a distance.

Ethan noticed this and stopped.

A few of them were barely born when he had left. Now they were old enough to crawl and walk, yet they looked at him like he was a complete stranger.

One small child even hid behind another person and carefully peeked at Ethan.

Ethan could not help but laugh.

"Do I really look that scary?"

The child only stared at him with wide eyes.

The others laughed softly, but Ethan felt a small ache in his heart.

He had missed too much.

The past few years had been quite long, and while he had been away fighting and dealing with one problem after another, his children had continued to grow.

Some had learned to walk without him.

Some had learned to speak.

Some had grown so much that he barely remembered what they looked like as babies.

Ethan crouched down and slowly extended his hand toward one of the younger children.

"Come here."

The child hesitated before slowly moving closer.

Ethan smiled and gently touched the child’s head.

"It’s alright. I’m your father."

The child looked at him for a moment before finally reaching out and grabbing his finger.

Ethan’s smile became softer.

"Don’t be afraid."

He stayed there for some time, letting the children slowly become familiar with him. Some remained shy, while others quickly became curious and started asking him questions about where he had been.

Ethan answered them patiently.

While meeting them, he could not help but feel remorse.

The past few years had already gone in unnecessary directions. There had been too many battles, too many enemies, and too many situations that had forced him away from home.

Now, he only hoped that the world would finally become peaceful.

He wanted to spend more time with them.

He wanted to watch them grow instead of hearing about their growth from someone else.

After meeting all of them, Ethan finally left and made his way toward the study room.

Duke Osantra and Duke Lancelot had been waiting there.

The two had not gone outside to disturb the peace of the estate. They had remained secluded and waited quietly until Ethan called for them.

When Ethan entered the study, both men immediately looked toward him.

Ethan stopped a few steps away and gave them a respectful bow.

"Duke Lancelot.... Duke Osantra..I hope you are doing well."

His tone carried genuine respect.

Duke Osantra smiled softly and waved his hand."Come on, Ethan. You don’t have to be so formal with us."

Ethan straightened and smiled.

"I haven’t seen you both for some time, so I thought it was appropriate."

Duke Osantra looked at him for a few moments before shaking his head with a faint smile.

"You hide quite well. If not for the war, no one would have known about your progress."

Ethan smiled and took a seat.

"Being too much in the limelight doesn’t bode well with me."

Duke Osantra chuckled.

"That much is obvious."

Ethan then shifted his gaze toward Rathlos.

"How are you doing?"

Rathlos smiled warmly, but there was still a strong sense of fatigue on his face. He leaned back in his chair and let out a tired breath.

"Everything is well except for the fact that I need a vacation. I want to rest."

Ethan could not help but chuckle."After everything that happened, I think you deserve it however.."

"Do you think I have been enjoying my time there?"Ethan snorted.

Vacation...The one who needed vacation was him.

"I have been waiting for someone to say that."Rathlos smiled as the others laughed.

"You know, I was already planning to disappear somewhere for a few weeks."

Duke Osantra shook his head.

"You won’t get away that easily."

"Why not?"

"Because there will always be another problem waiting for you."

Rathlos’s smile slowly disappeared.

"Don’t remind me."

Ethan laughed softly, and for a while, the study remained relaxed. They talked about the estate, the servants, the children and the things that had happened while Ethan was away. It felt almost like an ordinary meeting between people who had known each other for years.

But eventually, the laughter faded.

Duke Lancelot’s expression became serious.

He placed his hands together and looked directly at Ethan.

"So what’s going to happen next?"

The atmosphere inside the study changed immediately.

Ethan’s smile faded slightly as he looked at the three.

Rathlos and Osantra stared at Ethan with grim faces. Neither of them knew what discussion had taken place between Ethan and the four Emperors, and they had no idea what the final result had been.

The question had been troubling them ever since Ethan returned.

Would Ethan act and take over Arcadia?

If he did, then they would have to prepare quickly. Even with Ethan’s strength, taking control of such a vast land would not be simple. There would be nobles, surviving forces and countless other problems waiting for them.

Ethan looked at their expressions and smiled faintly. He could already guess what was going through their minds.

"The division of Arcadia has already been decided. The territory will be divided into four parts, and each part will be assimilated into the territory of one of the four Emperors."

The words struck them like thunder.

Rathlos’s eyes widened, while Duke Osantra stared at Ethan in disbelief. For a moment, neither of them said anything.

Before Ethan could continue, Duke Lancelot suddenly raised his hand and interrupted him.

"Wait a minute..That means you don’t want to be Emperor."
