Chapter 774:The Internals Or Halcrest

The situation inside the Halcrest Family was far from peaceful.

While the outside world was busy discussing the fall of Arcadia and the division of its territory, the Halcrest Family was facing a crisis of its own.

The Halcrest Family carried a special bloodline that granted them the power of healing magic. There had been rumours for generations that they were descendants of the Goddess of Nature. Their blood carried a special power that allowed them to cast healing magic even without receiving the blessings of Light.

Because of this ability, the Halcrest Family had built a huge influence throughout Arcadia. They had also extended their influence into other Empires, although they usually operated in small batches so that they would not attract too much attention. Their healers were welcomed almost everywhere, and many powerful families had dealings with them.

But saying that the Halcrest Family was peaceful was very far from the truth.

Inside the family, people were divided according to their bloodline.

There were the low class, the middle class and the high class.

The High Class of Halcrest were the ones who currently ruled the clan. They controlled the important positions, managed the family's resources and decided how the branches should operate. The Elder Association was also mostly made up of people from the High Class.

If someone from a lower branch was born with an unusually powerful bloodline, they could be transferred to the Upper Family. If they continued to show enough potential, they could even join the Elder Association.

On the surface, this looked like a system based on talent.

In reality, it was not that simple.

Bloodline decided almost everything.

A child born into the High Class could make mistakes and still receive protection. A child from a lower branch could work hard for years and still be treated as inferior.

And when someone from a lower branch showed enough talent to attract attention, they were not always treated kindly.

In one of the inner courtyards of the Halcrest Family, several young members stood beside a training ground.

A young man from a lower branch was kneeling on the ground.

His clothes were covered in dirt, and one side of his face was swollen.
