Peerless Divine Doctor
Chapter 2933: Outer Sect Leader
Chapter 2933 -2934: Outer Sect Leader
And Ye Luo thrust out with his sword once more!
No matter what secret technique he used, in front of Ye Luo it was all useless!
The only thing that left Ye Luo somewhat vexed was that, like this, he would probably attract the attention of the Ice Gate Sect’s higher-ups! That was nothing good!
Another loud boom rang out, and that young man staggered back several steps again.
His face instantly turned extremely ugly, while the shock of the people around him was simply stupefaction.
He was only at the ninth stage of the Earth Martial Realm; compared to a half-step Martial Emperor Realm, that was a world of difference. Yet now, it clearly looked like this Martial Emperor expert had suffered a loss!
“Damn it!” the young Cultivator cursed angrily, clearly intending to rush up and fight to the death.
“You’d better think this through. Next time, you might lose your life,” Ye Luo said calmly.
Hearing Ye Luo’s words, a flash of clarity clearly appeared in his eyes.
Obviously, he’d also thought of the key issue. Right now he was using a secret technique, but this sort of secret technique could only support a few exchanges. Once it lost effect, he would immediately fall into a desperate situation. Even if Ye Luo didn’t kill him, the people around wouldn’t let him go.
He’d been too impulsive! Immediately, he was filled with regret.
He was originally a child of heaven’s favor; having just been forced back by Ye Luo, his emotions had instantly lost control, and that was why he’d used the secret technique.
“Hmph!” With a cold snort, he tossed all those Tokens at Ye Luo in one go.
Seeing those Tokens, the people around were filled with intense envy.
As long as one obtained these Tokens, one could immediately gain the qualification to become a Disciple of the Ice Gate Sect.
“I forfeit!” the young man said coldly, then headed toward the light screen.
Outside the light screen, an Elder of the Ice Gate Sect received him and escorted him out.
At this moment, the aura on his body began to gradually fall; clearly, the secret technique was about to lose its effect. Fortunately, he had decisively withdrawn. Otherwise, he very likely would have fallen here, since quite a few of his enemies were on this battlefield.
Ye Luo accepted those Tokens, then sat cross-legged on the ground, calm as an old god, and began to meditate. The people around also resumed their slaughter, but not a single person dared to disturb Ye Luo.
Even a half-step Martial Emperor expert wasn’t his match! Who would dare try to snatch food from the tiger’s jaws?
Very soon, the time of one incense stick passed, and this chaotic battle was declared over.
This melee was indeed simple and efficient, but the casualties were abnormally heavy; at least two hundred Cultivators would remain here forever.
Before long, Elders came to collect the Tokens and record their numbers.
Without a doubt, Ye Luo’s more than three hundred Tokens ranked him somewhere within the top ten, easily securing the qualification to become a Disciple.
And the Ice Gate Sect directly announced that these Disciples had entered the Sect, then immediately began arranging their residences.
The Ice Gate Sect’s style of doing things did surprise Ye Luo somewhat; their efficiency was truly high.
Holding his Tokens, Ye Luo arrived in front of a thatched hut. On the main peak of the Ice Gate Sect, the grand hall was resplendent and magnificent, but the Disciples’ dwellings were frankly somewhat hard to justify.
Of course Disciples were also divided into grades; people like them were merely the lowest-tier Outer Sect Disciples. After a year, once they passed an assessment, they could become Inner Sect Disciples!
And Inner Sect Disciples had an assessment every three years; those who passed could be promoted to Elite Disciples!
Ye Luo had only skimmed these rules. What a joke—just to become a mere Inner Sect Disciple he had to wait a full year! Ye Luo had no intention of waiting.
His mission was merely to gather some information! Generally speaking, these Great Sects all had a scripture pavilion.
On one hand, they stored those rare Cultivation Techniques; on the other, they recorded major events of past and present.
But that was also a core area of the Sect, not a place just anyone could enter.
At the very least, with Ye Luo’s current status as an Outer Sect Disciple, he had no qualification to enter.
The furnishings inside the thatched hut were extremely simple; there was basically nothing inside, entirely empty. But Ye Luo naturally didn’t care about such things.
He was pondering whether to use some special means to visit that scripture pavilion today; for him, that wouldn’t be any sort of difficult task!
“Is Ye Luo here?” Just then, a voice came.
Ye Luo stepped outside and saw an old man, eyes like torches, studying him.
It was actually that Elder from earlier in the day.
“Greetings, Elder!” Ye Luo immediately saluted.
“No need for courtesy. The Sect Leader wants to see you; come with me,” the old man said.
Ye Luo instantly understood: his performance earlier had been too eye-catching, and that had alarmed the Sect Leader.
However, this Sect Leader was not the main Sect Leader of the Ice Gate Sect, merely the Sect Leader in charge of the Outer Sect. His status was only somewhat higher than that of the Elders.
The Sect Leader’s grand hall was naturally on the main peak. As soon as he entered the main peak, Ye Luo’s heart stirred.
There were actually some technological elements within these buildings, somewhat different from the style of the Demon Realm.
Clearly, the Dark Alliance had, to some extent, been influenced by Zhongzhou civilization.
“Disciple pays respects to the Sect Leader!”
Entering the grand hall, Ye Luo saw a white-haired old man gazing at him kindly. Clearly, this was the Sect Leader of the Outer Sect.
“No need for excessive formalities.”
A gentle Strength lifted Ye Luo up slowly.
The old man’s attitude toward him truly made Ye Luo quite surprised.
The Strength Ye Luo had displayed earlier was too formidable; even if the Ice Gate Sect’s upper echelon regarded him as a plant from some other Sect, it wouldn’t be excessive!
“Your performance during the Disciple selection earlier was very outstanding. I have high expectations for you,” the Sect Leader said directly.
Ye Luo was immediately a bit dazed. Were people of the Ice Gate Sect all this straightforward? Without another word, they just said they had high expectations of him!
They didn’t even know who Ye Luo was!
“I know you’re very confused. Come sit here; I’ll explain,”
Then Ye Luo sat beside the old man. The old man didn’t put on any airs of a Sect Leader at all; he was entirely like an elder family member, kind and amiable.
Although Ye Luo knew he most likely had ulterior motives, his favorable impression of him still rose quite a bit unconsciously.
“This is a very special time. The Sect urgently needs talent, so I plan to directly recommend you into the Inner Sect,” the old man said.
Yet another extremely direct statement left Ye Luo deeply puzzled.
Wasn’t it supposed to take a year before one could enter the Inner Sect? What about the promised assessment?
“Some changes have occurred. The Inner Sect Sect Leader has gone into seclusion, and for now matters of both Inner and Outer Sects are being handled by me,” the old man said.
Ye Luo nodded Wei Wei, but even if he’d gained authority, the Inner Sect’s assessment should be a rule set by the Sect, right? This was completely unfair to the other Inner Sect Disciples.
And for a Sect to remain stable, fairness was key!
For example, others had slogged and cultivated for a whole year just to enter the Inner Sect, while Ye Luo had just become an Outer Sect Disciple and was immediately entering the Inner Sect; naturally, the other Inner Sect Disciples would have opinions.
