Chapter 216: Chapter 203: You Will Die
Chen Yue’s eyes glinted, an indescribable excitement and longing surging within his heart.
Soaring through the clouds with one’s own power, looking down upon the earth—this was the realm of the Martial Dao he had always pursued.
As Liu Zhengyi glided, he turned to glance at Chen Yue, whom he held in his grasp.
He saw that Chen Yue’s young face showed no fear or nervousness. Instead, it was filled with excitement and curiosity. Liu Zhengyi couldn’t help but grin.
"You’ve got some serious nerve, kid. Not scared at all—in fact, you’re excited!"
Facing the wind, Chen Yue shouted back, "For a Martial Artist to reach such heights is something I’ve always dreamed of. How could I be afraid?"
Lu Jingxing chimed in from the side, "Junior Brother Chen is right! Even the Innate Realm isn’t enough! To truly ascend into the Cyan Netherworld, now that would be something!"
Hearing this, Liu Zhengyi burst into laughter, the sound carrying far on the wind.
"Good! You all have high aspirations! That’s good! Excellent!"
After flying for over ten li, Liu Zhengyi’s figure began to descend. He tapped lightly on a mountaintop before soaring into the sky once more to continue their journey.
This method of travel, which ignored all terrain obstacles, was far faster than running on the ground.
In less than half an hour, a towering mountain gate came into distant view.
That was the Liuyun Sword Sect.
The Liuyun Sword Sect was nestled amidst a range of rolling mountains. Its main peak soared into the clouds, steep and perilous, like a cluster of sharp swords pointing toward the heavens.
The mountain gate was built from massive green stones, standing over a hundred feet tall and projecting an imposing aura.
Above the gate’s lintel, the four large characters for "Liuyun Sword Sect" were engraved in an archaic seal script. The strokes were powerful and sharp, as if Sword Qi emanated from the calligraphy itself.
At this moment, several figures were already standing before the Liuyun Sword Sect’s mountain gate, looking up at the sky.
At their head were Bei Sujian, Ding Yuli, and several other Innate Realm Elders of the Liuyun Sword Sect.
When they saw six figures—all Innate Realm experts—streaking across the horizon, their eyebrows twitched. They were even more surprised to see that the group included Feng Hansheng, Zheng Tongchen, and even the renowned Song Mingke, whose lifespan was nearing its end.
A mocking smile touched Ding Yuli’s lips as he said in a low voice, "It seems the people from the Panshi Sect are quite confident, sending so many."
Bei Sujian chuckled as well, his tone laced with disdain. "If they weren’t confident, they would have rejected this Life and Death Decision long ago."
Another Innate Realm Elder from the Liuyun Sword Sect standing nearby also laughed. "And they’re pinning their hopes on that kid who broke through to the Refining Organ Realm less than a month ago?"
Hearing this, Bei Sujian and Ding Yuli exchanged a look and both laughed, saying nothing more.
Because Feng Hansheng and the other two had already landed before the mountain gate and were now walking toward them step by step.
Bei Sujian wiped the smile from his face. He, along with Ding Yuli and the other Elder, went forward to greet them. He cupped his fists and said, "Forgive us for not welcoming you from afar. I hope you three won’t take offense."
Zheng Tongchen waved his hand dismissively, his tone blunt. "Cut the pleasantries. Take us directly to your Liuyun Sword Sect’s Martial Arts Arena. We’re here for a Life and Death Decision, not to chat over tea."
Bei Sujian’s smile didn’t waver. He nodded. "Very well. Everyone, please follow me."
As he spoke, his gaze swept casually over Chen Yue, who was following behind. His eyes held a hint of scrutiny before he turned and led the way into the Liuyun Sword Sect.
The group followed behind Bei Sujian. After about a quarter of an hour, they arrived before a massive Martial Arts Arena on the main peak of the Liuyun Sword Sect.
The Martial Arts Arena was rectangular, over a thousand feet long and five hundred feet wide. The ground was paved with hard bluestone, riddled with the marks of blades and swords, clearly the site of countless fierce competitions.
The perimeter of the Martial Arts Arena was now packed with a sea of people; a great number of Liuyun Sword Sect disciples had gathered there.
And on one side of the arena, a figure stood quietly, his eyes closed in meditation.
He wore a black martial arts uniform, a longsword hanging from his waist. His posture was straight and tall, like an unsheathed sword, his sharp aura on full display.
Guan Duhai.
The moment Chen Yue and his group stepped into the vast arena, thousands of gazes shot toward them in unison.
Those gazes were like an invisible mountain, crashing down upon them.
Liu Wenying, standing a short distance behind Chen Yue, felt her scalp tingle. She subconsciously clenched her fists, her face turning slightly pale.
Although she was a Marrow Refining Realm Martial Artist, she had never experienced a scene of this magnitude.
Lu Jingxing stood on the other side, his brow slightly furrowed.
His Cultivation was much higher than Liu Wenying’s, so he wasn’t as overwhelmed by the stares as she was, but a sense of gravity couldn’t help but settle in his heart.
He subconsciously turned his head to look at Chen Yue, who was walking at the very front.
Chen Yue’s pace hadn’t changed in the slightest.
Lu Jingxing sighed inwardly. ’If I were in Chen Yue’s place,’ he thought to himself, ’I might be able to remain calm in a situation like this, but I could never completely ignore the pressure of all those stares the way he does.’
Based on this mental fortitude alone, Lu Jingxing felt a newfound respect for him. No wonder Chen Yue dared to set the location for this Life and Death Decision at the Liuyun Sword Sect’s home ground.
The three Elders—Feng Hansheng, Zheng Tongchen, and Song Mingke—took their seats in the viewing stands on one side of the Martial Arts Arena.
Meng Yu Jin stood at the edge of the stands, her gaze locked tightly on Chen Yue’s back.
Her lips moved slightly, as if she wanted to offer a few more words of caution, but she ultimately held back. At this point, any words were superfluous.
