Chapter 228 Innate Spiritual Object
Chapter 228: Chapter 212: Innate Spiritual Object
Chen Yue was taken aback for a moment, but then a smile couldn’t help but spread across his face.
"You’re too humble, Senior Brother Lu. Your All Things Return to the Source is incredibly profound. If you had gone all out, I might not have gained the upper hand."
Lu Jingxing smiled as well, knowing Chen Yue was just being polite to save him some face. He cupped his fist, said nothing more, and turned to leave.
’He really did need to find a quiet place and properly digest everything he had witnessed today.’
In front of Cloud-Gazing Hall, as the others gradually departed, Liu Wenying could no longer contain her excitement. She rushed toward Chen Yue like a gust of wind and clapped him forcefully on the shoulder.
"Little Junior Brother! You’re incredible! You’re really, truly incredible! AHHHH!"
Liu Wenying let out a few excited shouts, as if it were the only way to release the torrential excitement surging through her.
’Her little junior brother had, on the Liuyun Sword Sect’s own turf, single-handedly defeated everyone on the entire Sword Heart Ranking!’
’From Guan Duhai to Zhao Jiuchu, and then the three-on-one assault from Cheng Jiang, Wu Guanyu, and Liu Shizhang—he defeated them all, one by one, leaving the entire Liuyun Sword Sect utterly speechless!’
’It wouldn’t be long before this news spread throughout the entire Celestial State Prefecture, and she, Liu Wenying, had witnessed it all firsthand!’
Meng Yu Jin appeared beside them. Watching Liu Wenying’s ecstatic display, she was both exasperated and amused. "Alright, alright. What would the other disciples think if they saw you acting like this? Have some decorum."
Hearing her master’s words, Liu Wenying’s excitement didn’t diminish in the slightest. In fact, her expression grew even more animated.
"When the others find out what Little Junior Brother did today, they’ll be even more excited than I am! Believe it or not, by tomorrow morning, the entire Panshi Sect will be in an uproar!"
Hearing Liu Wenying’s words, Mo Ciqiu, who was standing nearby, couldn’t help but chuckle.
Mo Ciqiu walked over to Chen Yue, her eyes carefully sizing him up. The more she observed the young man before her, the more pleased she became.
However, the desire she’d had to take Chen Yue as her disciple had now faded considerably.
It wasn’t that she no longer wanted to; rather, she suddenly realized that given the talent and rate of progress Chen Yue was demonstrating, there was very little she could actually teach him, even if she did accept him as her disciple.
Following his current trajectory, Chen Yue’s breakthrough to the Innate Realm was practically a foregone conclusion, and it likely wouldn’t take very long.
The only help she could likely provide at this stage was to support Chen Yue with some Contribution Points.
At this thought, Mo Ciqiu felt a mix of both gratification and wistfulness.
Meng Yu Jin looked toward Chen Yue, a concerned smile on her face as she asked, "Are you feeling any discomfort?"
She could tell that Chen Yue must have used some kind of Secret Technique; the signs were obvious from his aura.
However, the technique’s impact on him seemed limited. Although Chen Yue’s aura was currently much weaker than usual, it was still within a normal range. He didn’t show the typical weakness and disarray that came with the backlash of a Secret Technique.
Chen Yue smiled and shook his head, his tone relaxed. "Don’t worry, Master. I feel fine."
Meng Yu Jin nodded, relieved. "That’s good. Go back and get some rest. And remember, do not leave the sect grounds before you break through to the Innate Realm."
Her tone was gentle, but her expression was completely serious.
Chen Yue nodded solemnly. "Yes, I understand."
Mo Ciqiu added with a smile, "And if you absolutely must leave the sect grounds for something urgent, remember to tell us first. You’ll need at least two Innate Realm experts with you to ensure your safety."
Meng Yu Jin shook her head, her tone firm. "It’s best if you don’t leave at all. If something truly comes up, just have another disciple handle it for you."
Chen Yue nodded again in agreement.
A quarter of an hour later, Chen Yue returned to his familiar courtyard.
He pushed open the wooden gate, stepped over the threshold, then turned and shut it behind him. The bolt slid into place with a soft click, completely sealing off the clamor of the outside world.
Chen Yue stood in the center of the courtyard and slowly let out a long breath.
’Today’s battle might have looked like a clean, effortless sweep, but it actually consumed a great deal of my Qi Blood and Heart Spirit.’
’Especially when I faced the three-on-one assault at the end. I pushed the burning ratio of the Celestial Demon Burning Technique to the absolute limit of the safe zone and forcibly channeled Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi into my saber. The strain on my Heart Spirit was immense.’
’Fortunately, my foundation is solid, so the toll was manageable. I should be able to recover fully after a few days of rest.’
Chen Yue walked into the Quiet Chamber and sat down cross-legged. First, he took out the Storage Ring he had gotten from Guan Duhai.
The ring was silvery-white, its surface engraved with intricate cloud patterns, and it felt cool to the touch.
He probed it with his Heart Spirit, and his eyes lit up.
The internal space of this Storage Ring was quite large, roughly three feet in length, width, and height—much more spacious than the Little Pill Furnace he had used at first.
A number of items were piled inside the ring: several bottles of Elixirs, a stack of silver banknotes, some Broken Silver, and various miscellaneous objects.
Chen Yue took out the bottles of Elixirs one by one, uncorking each to take a look. Most were Nourishing Spirit Pills of good quality, along with a few Healing Elixirs and Antitoxic Pills.
He then counted the silver banknotes and Broken Silver, which added up to a total of over fifty thousand silver taels.
This was the largest sum of silver he had acquired in a long time.
