Chapter 103: spending an eternity with mom

She was still asleep when the light arrived, my arm around her, the night finish dried on her thigh. I didn’t move. The house was quiet in the way it only got when no one was pretending to be busy. Evelyn woke by degrees, a small stretch, then the inventory of where she was and who was behind her. She found my hand on her breast and covered it. She found the dried shine and didn’t wipe it. She found me half hard against her and pushed back, slow, not urgent.

"Morning," she said, voice rough. "Don’t start anything yet. I want coffee in me before you are. Five minutes of nothing. Then the kitchen. Then you can bend me over the counter if the bread survives the toaster. Deal?"

"Deal."

She lay there the five minutes, breathing, thumb stroking my knuckle. Then she got up, naked, and walked to the bathroom. I heard the tap. I went to the kitchen and started the kettle, cut the better bread, and didn’t hover in the hall. She came in damp at the edges of her hair, still naked, and took the cup I held out.

"Nothing happened in the five minutes," she said. "Good. I like that we can do nothing. Drink. Then tell me if you want the counter or the table. I’m flexible before noon and tyrannical after, apparently. Old habit. Ignore the tyrant if she shows up."

"Counter."

"Then finish the cup."

We drank. She ate a piece of bread standing up, butter on her lip, and didn’t do the thumb thing on purpose. When the cups were low she turned, hands on the counter, and looked back.

"Now," she said. "Slow. I want to feel last night and this morning. Don’t race."

I stepped in behind her and pushed in. She was wet enough. She sighed, dropped her head, and met the first strokes with a small push back. The toaster sat cold. The window showed an empty street. I fucked her in long, deep drives, hands on her waist, mouth on her shoulder when I leaned in. She reached under and rubbed, unhurried.

"Talk or don’t," she said. "I’m not collecting confessions today. Just this. Harder when I say. Not before."

I kept the pace. She got louder by inches. The wet sound mixed with the kettle ticking as it cooled. She nodded.

"Harder. And don’t stop the depth. I want it deep when I come."

I gave her harder. She braced, came with a sharp moan, pussy gripping, and stayed bent through it. I followed because she clenched and said inside, now, and I buried and pulsed into her, groaning against her back. She reached down, felt the leak start, and smiled over her shoulder.

"Bread survived," she said. "Miracle. Shower if you want. I’m reading on the couch again. Join me or don’t. If you join me hard, I’ll probably put the book down. No promise."

I showered. She didn’t. She took the book to the couch in my shirt, open, and was on the second page of the new Chapter when I sat beside her. She swung a leg over my lap without marking the place, sank down, and kept reading. Different from yesterday. She was softer, slower, almost idle, grinding only when a line bored her. I held her hips and let her. She came once, small, still half on the sentence, then set the book on my chest.

"Your turn to move," she said. "I’ll hold the book. Try not to make me lose the page."

I thrust up into her. She bounced, laughing when the book slipped, catching it, riding until I came inside her again. She stayed, marked the page with a corner, and didn’t climb off.

"Lunch later," she said. "I’m finishing this Chapter joined. You’re cooperating. If you go soft I’ll allow it. If you don’t, even better."

She read. I stayed. The light moved across the rug. She finished the Chapter, closed the book, and kissed me properly, still full of me.

"Couch is no longer polite," she said. "Good. Bed for a nap or a fuck, your choice. I’m easy. Then we buy nothing and cook nothing fancy and you stay the night again. The guest story is dead. Don’t revive it."

"Bed. Nap first."

"Romantic." She eased off, leak and all, and pulled me up. In the bedroom she lay on her stomach, the new position from yesterday, and looked back. "Or this. Nap can wait. Stomach. Slow. I liked the weight."

I covered her and slid in. Deep. She moaned into the pillow and reached back for my hand. We moved slow. She came. I came. We stayed until I softened, then actually napped, her leg over mine, the book forgotten in the front room.

She woke me with her mouth. Gentle, building, eyes up when I looked down. She took me until I was hard and aching, then climbed on and rode, no book, no window check, just her hands on my chest and the steady wet rhythm. She came twice. I came inside her. She collapsed forward and laughed, breathless.

"Enough for the afternoon," she said. "Food. Real food. Then evening is unscheduled. If I want you, I’ll take my clothes off. If I don’t, we’ll watch something terrible and you’ll keep your hands respectable until I move them. Fair?"

"Fair."

We cooked together. Rice, eggs, the last of the good bread. No bending over the counter. She kissed my neck while the pan heated and called it nothing. We ate. After, she put on a shirt and shorts and sat on the couch with the remote. An hour in she took the shirt off. Ten minutes later the shorts. She didn’t announce it. She just climbed into my lap, guided me in, and settled.

"Terrible show stays on," she said. "Move slow. I want to come once and finish the episode. Multitasking. Don’t look so proud."

I moved slow. She came, quiet, biting her lip at the screen. I held off. She finished the episode, turned the volume down, and rode me properly until I filled her. She stayed through the credits.

"Bed soon," she said. "Not yet. I like the living room with the lights low and you in me. We’ve earned the lack of schedule. Stay hard if you can. If you can’t, stay anyway. I’m not kicking you to a cushion. Ever."

The credits ended. She didn’t move. The house was only us, and the night had no list left to finish.

The credits ended and she still didn’t move.

Evelyn stayed in my lap, shirt and shorts somewhere on the floor, the low light from the screen sliding over her shoulder. I was still inside her, half hard, the last finish leaking slow around the base. She traced my collarbone with one finger and watched the menu screen cycle.

"Leave it," she said. "I don’t want another episode. I want this. Sit here until your legs complain. Then bed. No plan between. If I clench, it’s because I feel like it. Don’t turn it into a request."

She clenched. Small. I twitched. She smiled and did it again, lazier.

"See? Nothing. We can do nothing with you in me. I spent weeks making nothing impossible. This is me fixing it."

We sat. The menu music looped. Her head found my shoulder. I stroked her back under the fall of her hair. After a while she lifted, sank, a single slow grind, then settled again.

"One more before bed," she said. "Not a marathon. Just enough that I feel you when I walk down the hall. Then we sleep. If you wake up hard, you know the rule that isn’t a rule. Wake me. I’ll say yes or I’ll say later. Both are fine."

She started to move. Unhurried. Hands on my shoulders, rolling more than bouncing, the wet sound quiet under the menu music. I held her waist. She kissed me once, open, then rested her forehead on mine and kept the roll. No speech. She came soft, a sigh, pussy fluttering, and nodded.

"Now. Inside. Then we’re done for the night on purpose."

I thrust up and came, pulsing, pulling her down. She took it, hummed, and stayed until I softened. Then she eased off, stood, and held out a hand. The leak ran down her thigh. She didn’t wipe it.

"Bed," she said. "Leave the screen. It’ll turn itself off or it won’t. I don’t care."

In the bedroom she got under the sheet and pulled me in after her. Side by side. She guided me back in, already tender, and we didn’t move much. A few slow rocks. She kissed my wrist. Sleep came before either of us finished anything else.

I woke to gray light and her hand on me again, stroking under the sheet. She was on her side, watching.

"Later became now," she said. "Morning. Counter after coffee if you want. Or here. I’m not assigning. Choose."

"Here."

"Then here."

She pushed me onto my back and sank down, morning-easy, and rode a slow grind while the light filled the room. Different from the couch. Quieter. She came once, hands on my chest, then leaned down and kissed me through the second, smaller one. I came inside her when she said now. She stayed joined, cheek on my shoulder.

"Coffee in ten," she said. "Bread. Then nothing scheduled. You can read with me or fuck me on the table or both. The guest story stays dead. Don’t dig it up. If I get shy, which I might, because mornings lie, you know the sentence."

"You wanted this."

"I did." She clenched once, lazy, and didn’t move to get up. "Ten minutes starts when I say. I haven’t said it yet."

She hadn’t. The light kept coming in, and she kept me inside her while the ten minutes waited.
