Chapter 124: A New World?

I held the ring that Lila had handed me, and played with it in my grasp.

The ring seemed intriguing to me.

There were engravings that seemed like another language edged onto its surface.

And I could see faint traces of mana embedded within the engravings, quiet along every line.

If I was to guess, this should be an artifact of some sort.

’So this world possesses items like this?’ I mused to myself, as I continued studying it closely.

’I can copy the mana engravings. But if I engrave them onto something else, will it create the same spatial coordinates? Or will it just be a waste?’

Instinctively, I could sense how much mana had been inputted in each engraving.

Although it seemed to require precise control and care to engrave it, with my overwhelming talent, I felt I could do it without the slightest hassle.

But I didn’t immediately do it. I didn’t know if replicating the engravings atop it into some random object would cause the ring to be ineffective.

We had to save Elena first.

I stood up, then tossed the ring back to Lila indifferently.

"Activate it."

Lila was now completely clad. She finally wore something after being naked for a while.

Lila hurriedly caught it and a nervous expression appeared on her face at the careless gesture.

Still, she did as she was told.

She infused a little bit of her mana into the ring and tossed it into the air.

The ring flew and expanded rapidly along the way, until it had expanded to form a portal that shimmered with a pale, dark blue light.

It seemed like a portal to a completely different world.

In my place one would be nervous, or hesitant, however I just calmly signaled for the two women to follow me.

I trusted my strength above everything else.

Moreover, I trusted the system.

Placing my hands into my pocket casually, I walked into the shimmering portal ahead.

Olivia and Lila exchanged nervous glances, however my calmness made them a little more confident.

After a momentary hesitation, they too stepped into the portal.

Instantly, cracks began forming along the exterior of the portal that was made from the ring.

In moments, the ring gradually became unstable and cracks spread across its exterior.

Before long, the ring burst apart, scattering its fragments into the surroundings and plunging the room into silence.

Time seemed to have slowed down as I admired the sight before me.

It was like my body was completely enclosed in a water-like liquid, cool and close against the skin.

Although the teleportation was supposed to be instantaneous, due to the fact that I was strong, time seemed to have slowed down, to let me admire my surroundings.

Even though it was just for a few seconds, those few seconds seemed like minutes to me.

I stretched my finger gently to touch the bubble enclosing me.

I noticed what seemed to be another energy on the same level as mana.

It intersected with the mana particles, and together they formed the bubble enclosing us.

"What’s this?" I murmured slowly and stretched my finger to touch it.

Just then, my perception changed once more, and I realised we had arrived at our destination.

Shaking my head in regret, I turned around to calmly assess my surroundings.

"Hah... hah..." from behind me, both Olivia and Lila began retching their guts out.

The dizzying sensation of the spatial teleportation left them breathless and irritated.

While the retching sounds continued from both women, I glanced around.

I realised we had appeared in what seemed to be a land filled with ice and snow.

Snow drifted about into the surroundings, and the soft pale blue light from the sky flickered across each snowflake as they fell.

It made the entire place look extremely beautiful.

Swoosh!

While all three of us were admiring the beautiful sight, an attack came whistling in our direction.

I glanced in the direction of the attack and noticed a spear hurling in our direction.

The spear streaked through the air, and arrived before us in seconds.

However, for me it was painfully slow.

I watched as the spear moved towards me at an even pace, and when it was directly in front of me, I casually tilted my head to the side, then pushed it gently with a finger, sending it off course.

"That’s not how to welcome your guests." I said softly, glancing towards a tree nearby where the spear had emerged from.

I could sense the shock in the other party as a wave of silence descended onto the group.

The silence lasted for a while before a young lady emerged from the tree.

She glanced down at us, then asked coldly.

"What are you doing here? Who sent you? What is your reason for coming here?"

She threw out a series of questions, and I could notice the killing intent in her eyes.

But it didn’t matter.

She couldn’t kill me. No one could.

I took a step forward and appeared atop the branch which she stood.

My hand gently caressed her face. It was smooth, soft and tender, warm under the slow pass of my fingers.

She was almost as beautiful as my three daughters.

To think the first person I’d encounter here would be a beauty.

The lady failed to react in time. Only when she felt the hand caressing her face lovingly did she tremble and stagger in shock.

What sort of terrifying speed was that?

It left her helpless!

Still, she had to defend herself.

She quickly reached towards her side, and took out a dagger she had hidden then slashed towards my face.

A look of regret appeared on my face, as I was forced to remove my hand from her warm, tender face.

I gently tapped her wrist that held the dagger and caused it to fly in no particular direction.

"Wait! Master, don’t kill her!" Lila spoke too hastily.

She didn’t know whether I planned to kill her, however she felt she had to stop me in time before I did so.

"Aunt Sapphire?" Lila called out urgently.

Sapphire broke out in cold sweat, but she still lowered her gaze downwards to stare at her cousin.

"Little Lila?" She muttered, then turned to the charming young man.

"Master?"

She recalled Lila had called this mysterious, charming young man, master.

It was no wonder he was so terrifying.

"I’m sorry for attacking you." She said slowly, choosing her words carefully.

She felt that if it wasn’t for her cousin, she would have lost her life here and right now.

"Master, I... I know her. She’s my cousin." Lila continued.

Meanwhile, Olivia already had her shadows ready to attack at any moment.

She felt regretful that she had allowed her master to almost be assassinated.

Still getting used to her newfound powers, and dizzy from the spatial travel, she had failed to react in time.

She cautioned herself to remain alert at all times to avoid such situations from happening again.

"Hmmm..." I contemplated killing her, but after a brief thought, I decided to place the thought of killing at the back of my mind for now.

I was curious about Elena.

"Where’s Elena?" I asked calmly.
