Chapter 2316 - 103: Crow's Prophecy VI_3
If someone else sent such a cryptic message, he could easily ignore it.
But upon seeing the message, he instinctively recalled the earlier conversation with the sender. In his heart, he surmised that the young man must have had some opinions about their response.
He was someone he had sought out, someone he favored, so naturally, he hoped the young man could see things more clearly and avoid further deviations from the path.
After some thought, he quickly replied to the message: "Who are they referring to?"
The reply came almost immediately:
"The people from Crow's Claw Sanctuary."
Su Changfeng gasped, feeling his blood pressure rise, wanting desperately to open the video communication to give that brat a piece of his mind. But it seemed the other side had already anticipated this, stubbornly not granting video access and denied him the opportunity.
He had no choice but to type furiously: "Kid, are you trying to make trouble for me? I'll reiterate, Crow's Claw Sanctuary isn't supported by us, stop trying to probe these things, don't be clever. What I told you before was just to clear your head, to understand the Alliance and the 'Suva Declaration' are inseparable—if you want to cause trouble, we won't meddle. Don't forget, haven't you caused enough trouble already?"
But as soon as he finished typing, the screen lit up with the reply, letter by letter:
"So, as long as it's not the Alliance?"
Su Changfeng felt a headache coming.
"Even if it's the Alliance, it doesn't matter. Haven't you understood yet? You can't defeat it, if you insist on wasting your own time, that's your business. You might as well help us with something more meaningful. Although you can't defeat it, you can help oversee it—"
The other side paused for a moment, then responded with just four words:
"I understand."
"Wait, what do you understand?"
Su Changfeng was slightly stunned.
But the screen had already faded to darkness, leaving him in a fog.
"That damn brat," after quite a while, Su Changfeng clapped his palms, awakening from his stupor: "...Why are these young people all the same, speaking cryptically, playing their guessing games?"
He seemed to think of his own girl, shook his head, and muttered to himself: "Someday, I'll show that boy a thing or two."
...
Fang Hong put down the Communication Crystal, appearing a bit silent.
While under the knights' helmets, white mist congealed into frost, the metal armor pulsating lightly, on their black and white war robes, a gloomy crow's eye stared at everything ahead. The leading knight raised the longsword in his hand, a muffled voice beneath the helmet was counting down:
"Three!"
"Two!"
But suddenly he noticed the young man in front raised a hand, interrupting him.
Fang Hong looked up at these people, his dark eyes as still as ancient well water, his chest barely rising and falling as he opened his mouth, releasing a thin mist:
"The wind holds the answer..."
"Only those who listen intently can hear that voice."
"It says, apart from ourselves, no one in this world can redeem us—"
The knights were taken aback, as if not understanding yet, they turned their heads to their leader. At that moment, the square fell into a slight silence, time seemed to freeze, the leading knight almost paused before realizing what the other side said.
The leading knight froze in place, as if insulted greatly, the next moment let out a thunderous roar from within the helmet. He cut downward with the longsword in his hand, roaring:
"Heretic, catch this damned heretic!"
The roar resounded throughout the square.
But not far away, on a building's second floor, several people were watching the scene below attentively. The leader among them couldn't help but smile ruefully and shake his head, "This kid's skills aren't great, but he's exceptionally good at causing trouble."
He licked his frozen, cracked lips, eyes flashing with bright light, "But his act is rather good, could be considered putting on a good show, nice, I like it. After all, no one likes those mysterious guys—"
He whistled, then said: "Speaking of this kid's first fame, we've got some ties, even made Qin Zhi boss lose some face. But our grievances should be settled now, this mission counts as us paying him back."
While speaking, he turned around to look at the others in the room, lowered his voice: "Everyone, get ready to act. Dong Team said if this kid can't hold up, we have to help him get out. But I originally thought this kid would be smarter, didn't expect he's also a bit rash, if we don't act, he's going to fall into those people's hands."
He gestured: "Also, don't forget this is the Little Princess's mission, don't you want to perform well? Although she belongs to Silver Weslan, you can surely think of ways to bring her into our Guild, haha."
He thought he told a rather clever joke, but was surprised by the lack of expected response. Just because everyone in the room, eyes seemingly enchanted, looked past him to the window outside.
The leader was slightly stunned, couldn't help waving his hand before everyone, yet received no reaction. Next moment, he sensed something wrong, so he turned back to look out the window, at the square.
Once he turned, he couldn't move his gaze away.
There, amongst the black and white knights, the young man stood at the square's center.
Fang Hong gently placed his hand to his chest, where the thick glove pressed upon a dark Crystal.
On the Crystal, silver engravings were embroidered, layers of sea blue light blossomed from his fingertips.
"Are all of you coming—"
"Or shall I come?"
One after another, phantom blue silhouettes appeared behind the young man.
Four, eight, twelve, twenty-four, the knights stirred, amidst this commotion, looking up at the multitude of shadows, instinctively stepping back.
And the leader, unknowingly had his mouth agape, at that moment, only one thought filled his mind.
Wait, wait... those rumors around the community, are they actually true?
