Pillar of Yita
Chapter 2318 - 104: Crow's Prophecy VII_2
But Miss Shaye had never felt so helpless. Since childhood, she had always been a favored child of the heavens, entering the Youth Training Camp in Tabopolis with excellent grades and effortlessly rising through the ranks of the Guild. Compared to Little Kong, she was definitely the truly lucky one.
If it weren't for all the numerous incidents that occurred in the Guild afterward, if it weren't for all the circumstances, she wouldn't have fallen to her current state. Yet she had never regretted it, her pride never allowed her to easily admit defeat, but at this moment, she felt her own weakness.
She clenched her teeth tightly, wanting to make even a tiny sound, but found herself unable to control even the smallest movement, feeling her entire being sinking down incessantly.
She closed her eyes with a shiver, helpless tears slid down immediately, but then a sharp pain suddenly came, bringing her back to control over her body. Miss Shaye snapped back to reality, only to realize she had unconsciously bitten the tip of her tongue, a taste like metallic corrosion spreading instantly throughout her mouth.
Overlooking the pain, she immediately spoke:
"Leave this place."
The two people holding her were stunned for a moment before understanding her words, exchanging bewildered glances, they asked: "Miss Shaye, what did you say?"
"Leave... this... place, qui...ckly..."
Miss Shaye weakly shook her head, tears streaming down, blood sliding down her mouth, she spoke word by word.
A sharp whistle sounded through the skies above the Forest.
Then another closer whistle came from the direction of the camp.
Shadows in green cloaks appeared in the Forest, Hunters jumped down from the trees, running towards the camp. They vigorously waved their arms, warning the people in this direction, shouting loudly:
"Enemies!"
"Crow's Claw Sanctuary people have arrived!"
The camp fell into a brief silence, then immediately descended into chaos, everyone was thrown into a panic. Almost everyone knew that earlier today Miss Shaye had dispatched the Guardian Team from the camp to receive some supplies.
And in the absence of these fighting forces, the old, sick, and young in the camp, facing the wolflike enemies, facing the Knights of the Sanctuary and their colder and greedier Mercenaries and Adventurers, could imagine the outcome.
'Bang', the wooden basin in Dai's hands dropped to the ground, her face turned snow-white, she looked at the shadows appearing in the Forest, at the black and white War Robes, memories of former nightmares rushed into her mind, her body trembled slightly uncontrollably.
She felt someone push her, "Run, Dai, run! Quickly take your sister and leave this place—!" Dai had no time to look at who pushed her, but the word 'sister' seemed to awaken her, she snapped back to reality, the fear in her heart instantly vanished, she took a deep breath, turned around and started running away.
The sound of arrows in the Wind, falling on the tents nearby, the distant and close cries of people before dying, her heart clenched, fearing she might fall to the ground in the next moment.
She saw that the Hunters protecting the camp met with the Knights of Crow's Claw Sanctuary, but mainly fought with the Mercenaries under the Sanctuary, and how could these Hunters possibly be a match for the specialized warriors, they were cut down swiftly.
Those familiar people, those who had protected them.
Tears welled up instantly, blurring her Vision, but Dai dared not stop, for her blind sister was still waiting for her. She saw someone shot in the face by an arrow, clutching their bloody face screamingly rushing towards her, scaring her into a scream and falling backward, her small body crashed into a patch of tents.
Her elbows and knees began bleeding immediately, wooden splinters piercing her palms, but she had no time to cry out, biting her lips and wiping the tears, she climbed back up again. Carefully avoiding the dying person, she kept apologizing, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I can't help you either..." Then with tears, she continued to run forward.
Tent after tent falling behind her, the tent where her sister was finally appeared ahead, but at this moment, Dai suddenly heard a scream from the tent ahead. Her heart clenched tightly, stabbing with pain, it was her sister's voice—
Several men jesting among themselves grabbed the weak girl's hair, dragging her out of the tent. How could the blind girl resist these people, crying and screaming, "Let me go, please let me go..."
Upon seeing this scene, Dai's blood seemed to freeze, she stood dazedly in place.
The tall and rough men wore dirty Leather Armors, not even considered as Mercenaries under the Sanctuary, merely Bounty Hunters following the latter to seek a bite.
They called themselves Adventurers, but the true Adventurers' Guild never recognized them, others only referred to them as Hyenas, scavenging for 'food' amidst battlefields. These people could do almost anything, lacking any Compassion in their hearts, even killing unarmed individuals for a piece of ragged clothing.
