It was hard to say whether the guy had a good eye or just plain bad luck.

Levi hung back at the rear of the formation with a Centaur Leader for a bodyguard and a Zor Priest for an escort, cutting quite an imposing figure. With a single glance, even an ignorant country bumpkin could tell that this incredibly flashy human’s status was anything but low.

Any good soldier who dreamed of becoming a general would make him the priority target. This Pigman was clearly no exception. Unfortunately, while he’d identified the right person, he’d picked the wrong target.

Levi himself was a Lord; he had no need to climb a bureaucratic ladder. Therefore, it was no great loss to give the fruits of this certain victory to Fujero as a favor.

That was why he had the leisure to crack open seeds while meandering on horseback at the rear of the formation.

Of course, it was inevitable that a few scoundrels hoping to achieve immortal glory would hide in some corner and launch a sneak attack. But with his loyal bodyguard Gus around, the Lord didn’t even bat an eye, and even had the leisure to ask the nearby Heather if she wanted some seeds.

"What the hell?"

Unfortunately, the Lord’s leisurely mood was soon completely shattered. He hurriedly tossed the seeds in his hand onto the ground and carefully raised his Mirror Tube to get a better look.

No matter how courageous the Panda Warriors were, they weren’t forged from real iron. They could get hurt and they could die. Otherwise, the world wouldn’t be ruled by humans, but by this group of Panda People.

After the enemy reacted by throwing large numbers of troops into the fray, a Panda Warrior would occasionally be taken down in the brutal melee. But these were victories the enemy bought by piling up bodies.

As the Thorn Corps and Centaur Warriors grew more seamless in their coordination with the Panda Warriors, the casualty rate began to slow, nearly dropping to zero.

But the current situation had changed drastically. In the span of just a few dozen heartbeats, three or four Panda People had been killed. The brave and invincible Panda looked as pathetic as a common thug, constantly rolling around on the ground. Their once-unstoppable offensive momentum came to a grinding halt; there were even faint signs of them being pushed back by the enemy.

"My Lord, it’s Enke Bloodhoof!"

Gus instantly spotted the towering, Giant Beast-like figure in the crowd.

Every swing of his axe felled swathes of Thorn Corps soldiers.

The fine Plate Armor they relied on to crush the Wilderness People was as thin as paper before this Minotaur Chieftain.

With a single roar, the nearest human soldiers instantly started bleeding from their mouths, noses, and ears as they collapsed.

In that instant alone, he had slaughtered nearly a hundred human soldiers.

And that was only because Panda was drawing most of his attention. Even so, the Panda Race Leader was in a pathetic state, facing one close call after another.

Fujero was used to watching the Lord mow down enemies like grass. He never imagined that his own side would now be the one being wantonly slaughtered like weeds.

"This Minotaur has taken a Primordial Blood Crystal. His strength is terrifying, and he’s well-versed in various kinds of Blessing Magic," Gus said, his tone grave. "I clashed with him before. It was like facing a mountain—suffocating."

Gus wasn’t trying to build up the enemy’s reputation; he was just stating the facts about their opponent.

He didn’t want his Lord to underestimate the foe.

"Damn it. Gus, go back him up."

Levi wasn’t blind; he could tell this guy was a monster. Seeing Gus itching for a fight, he simply waved him on.

...

Facing the Crescent War Axe as it swung toward him again, Panda relied on his profound Qi Sensing. His mountain-like body moved with the agility of a monkey as he barely managed to evade with a desperate roll.

BOOM!

He glanced back and saw the massive crater the axe had smashed into the ground behind him. Panda’s eyelids twitched and his mouth went dry. Even with his good temper, he couldn’t help but start running his mouth in fury.

"Fuck, can’t you take a damn break?!"

But the only answer he received was his opponent’s thunderous roar and another strike delivered with all his might.

Panda had no idea where such a monster had come from. His opponent was a full five blades tall. At three and a half blades, Panda himself was considered exceptionally tall among his own people.

But compared to this Minotaur, he only came up to the man’s waist, like one of the adolescent kids from his clan.

He had been at a disadvantage from the moment they clashed, and now he was relying completely on his superb Martial Arts just to parry.

This was the first time in his life he’d taken such a beating. Setting aside the Lord, whom he had never actually fought, this Minotaur was the strongest opponent he had ever encountered.

But as everyone knows, a prolonged defense is bound to fail. Just as Panda prepared to repeat his tactic and dodge the heavy blow, a mind-shattering roar struck him like a club to the head, instantly freezing his body stiff.

’It’s Barbaric Roar!’

Panda’s expression changed in an instant. ’Of all the things I calculated, I never figured this Minotaur was also a Shaman skilled in Magic!’ He could have held on for a good while longer, but now he’d been completely blindsided.

He watched the cold glint of the Axe Blade as it chopped down toward his head, unable to hide the bitterness in his heart.

’It’s not that I’m afraid to die. In fact, dying at the hands of such a powerful foe could be considered a kind of honor.’

’I just feel that I’ve failed the kinsmen I brought with me.’

SWOOSH!

Just then, an Arrow flickering with lightning shot in from a distance, striking the side of the Giant Axe with unerring accuracy.

A violent explosion followed. Arcs of electricity flashed, making every strand of black and white fur on Panda’s body stand on end.

The Axe Blade had grazed his skin as it fell, shocking Panda into a cold sweat. Before he even had time to curse, the Qi in his body began to surge.

"ROAR!"

He instantly broke free from his paralysis and let out an earth-shattering roar like that of a wild beast. He swung his Cyan Dragon Saber, now glowing with a milky-white halo, straight at the Minotaur before him.

The muscles on his marble-thick arms tensed, veins bulging as the saber whistled through the air.

Enke showed no sign of backing down. With a roar, he brought his Giant Axe crashing toward his opponent’s skull.

The instant the massive saber and Giant Axe collided in the night, a thunderclap boomed out. A sudden shower of sparks erupted, making everyone’s eyes sting.

KRAK!

The webbing of Panda’s hand went numb from the shock. Blood streamed down through his black and white fur, and he was left holding only the handle of his saber.

His opponent was only forced back a single step at most, and the Crescent War Axe was only left with an apple-sized chip.

Clearly, his opponent’s weapon was no piece of junk. In fact, it was even a notch better than his own.

Panda stared in horror at the Broken Blade in his hand. His ancestral Cyan Dragon Saber, shattered in an instant. The Qi in his body, thrown into chaos in an instant. His heart, once invincibly brave, was broken in an instant.

’How the fuck am I supposed to fight now?!’

A boundless sorrow welled up in his heart. ’Am I supposed to charge in with just a handle and serve him my head on a platter?’

Enke couldn’t care less what this Panda Person was thinking. With a roar, he swung his Axe down again.

He admitted this Panda Person was among the strongest people he’d ever met, but that was all there was to it.

Anyone who stood in the way of him saving his son would be crushed underfoot!

But then, the unexpected happened again!

BOOM!

A figure leaped in from a distance. With a deafening bang, the descending Giant Axe was once again violently knocked away by a single stroke of the newcomer’s blade.

"Gus?!"

Seeing the familiar Centaur before him, Enke roared uncontrollably.

"Where the hell have you been all this time? Why are you helping the humans?!"

Gus remained silent, simply hefting his door-sized Double-Bladed Broadsword and bringing it crashing down with all his might.

’When words fail, let blades decide.’

The two clashed once more. The terrifying auras of the two Giant Beasts were overwhelming. It was like watching blacksmiths at work; their massive weapons crashed together, black iron smashing red-hot iron, sending sparks flying everywhere.

Each collision produced an earth-shattering boom, like a series of thunderclaps on a clear day.

The surrounding grunts scrambled for their lives, clearing out completely and leaving more than enough room for the two to duel to the death.

"My weapon is gone. I can’t help," Panda said, looking dejected.

Although the Panda People possessed superb unarmed Martial Arts, in a battle of this caliber... ’Charge in with bare hands? Don’t kid yourself. One swing of that Axe and I’d be chopped in half.’

"Son of a bitch, count me in!" Si Kai, wreathed in Combat Qi that emanated a milky-white glow, decided he wanted to see just how many opponents this Minotaur could handle at once.
