Chapter 259 - 212: This Lord Was Born With Divine Power

Zat’s spear had indeed had an effect. The slight tremble in the giant claw proved it; the beast hadn’t blocked the blow as easily as it let on.

Magical Beasts couldn’t just appear from nothing. Levi was quite curious how this one had found its way underground and what it usually ate.

But this was clearly not the time for such thoughts. Pain drove the giant beast, which stood dozens of feet tall at the shoulder, into a greater fury. Its three vaguely wolf-like heads tilted back and let out a piercing howl.

Potent Elemental Power, as dazzling as molten lava, gathered in the mouth of its central head.

Levi could even smell the acrid stench of sulfur.

Magical Beasts were named as such for their command of Elemental Power, and the Three-headed Dog before them was no exception.

Fortunately, no one present was a fool. They had no intention of standing by and watching the creature complete its Casting.

A volley of multicolored Magic—Wind Blades, Water Balls, and Giant Stones—flew out as if they were free, smashing violently against the Giant Beast’s three heads.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

When the various spells collided with the Giant Beast’s heads, the violent influx of foreign Elements caused the Magical Beast to lose control of the Fire Element in its mouth. A chain reaction of explosions erupted instantly.

As the turbulent, multicolored Elements detonated, a shockwave of wind sent everyone’s hair and clothes flying, forcing them to squint against the blast.

The exploding Giant Stone shattered into shrapnel, flying in all directions. The fragments carried astonishing kinetic energy, their power rivaling that of Crossbow Arrows, and they hammered against the Shields with a deafening clamor.

Thick, black smoke completely enveloped the Magical Beast, obscuring it from view.

This alone proved what a wise decision it had been for the Lord to bring the Zor Priests.

Without this group of Casters, a single Elemental Magic from the Magical Beast would have likely annihilated the Elves.

"Did we... succeed...?"

One of the Elf Warriors who had been lucky enough to survive couldn’t help but ask.

The others also wore hopeful expressions. The power of this Magic was undeniable; just a few volleys had once blasted a massive breach in their supposedly indestructible city walls.

And now, all of it had been unleashed on the Magical Beast’s head.

Levi wasn’t so optimistic. ’After all, the ’all smoke, no harm’ rule is universal in these situations.’

ROAR!

The next second, a heavily scarred Magical Beast burst from the smoke and, with a single swipe of its claw, sent the Elves at the front flying.

Wails and screams of agony filled the air, chilling everyone to the bone and draining the color from their faces.

The last four or five Elves were using their nimble footwork to keep the beast occupied.

Unfortunately, Arrows that could pierce a Wooden Shield were like mosquito bites to this Giant Beast, serving only to enrage it further.

"Lord, we should retreat. That was our strongest Magic, and it didn’t even inflict a fatal wound."

Heather rushed to Levi’s side, pleading with him.

Their Casting had thoroughly enraged the Magical Beast. Its blood-red, predatory eyes terrified her.

Their previously infallible Magic had done little more than singe its fur. The immense gap in power left Heather with no desire to fight it to the death.

While the Elves were keeping it busy, they had a perfect opportunity to escape.

"Levi, I underestimated this Magical Beast. You all fall back. I’ll cover your retreat."

Ash gripped her Magic Wand, her body surging with Magic Power.

If not for the Elf Queen’s supportive Magic, the few remaining Elves would have been defeated long ago.

The Purgatory Three-headed Dog furiously swatted at the flies before it. The pain radiating from its body had driven it into an incredible rage; only by grinding these rats that had invaded its territory into paste would it find any relief.

It understood that the little specks hiding in the back posed the greatest threat, but every time it tried to charge them, it was intercepted by the others.

It had been maintaining a massive spell in this place, meant to deter these little people from disturbing it. That was why it had been sleeping—to conserve Magic Power. Now, this intense battle had nearly depleted its reserves, making it increasingly desperate.

"Retreat?" The Lord scoffed, pushing away the frantic hands of the Zor Elves who were trying to pull him back. "Everyone, get out of my way."

He had already figured it out. This Magical Beast was all bark and no bite.

Logically, a Magical Beast this large should possess extraordinary strength. Even with Ash’s magical enhancements, those few Elves shouldn’t have been able to last a single exchange against it.

But the impression the Lord got now was that the Magical Beast’s Power and speed were completely disproportionate to its size.

It was like an elephant with the strength of an ant. Something was very wrong.

He decided to gauge its true strength for himself.

Levi shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bow. Before anyone could react, he bent down and wrapped his arms around one of the Giant Beast’s front paws.

Everyone froze, stunned. They could see that the Lord was trying to tackle the beast.

But this was a Giant Beast that stood dozens of feet tall at the shoulder! A Mammoth would look like a wolf pup next to it.

’Is... is this really something a mere human can do?’

"Up!" Levi roared. The veins on his arms bulged like earthworms as he heaved with all his might.

He was stunned. It was completely different from what he’d imagined. The actual weight in his hands told him, with absolute certainty, that this Magical Beast was absurdly light.

Before the eyes of all, in just a single instant...

The giant Three-headed Dog only had time to let out a panicked howl before it came crashing down like a landslide.
