Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System

Chapter 393 - 274: Rendezvous (2)

The only real threat came from the demons flying overhead. Levi had to divert some of his attention to deal with the pitchforks and long spears raining down from the sky.

"Actually, we just escaped from White Bone Fortress," Fatir said. "There were too many demons. We couldn’t hold on any longer, so we had to seek help from the outside."

"Damon has an army of over one hundred thousand men, not to mention all you Casters. To get beaten this badly... there can’t be four or five hundred thousand demons, can there?" Levi asked, surprised.

"No!" Fatir denied adamantly.

"That’s a relief." Levi sighed. Facing over a hundred thousand enemies already made one feel small and insignificant in a vast, boundless world. If four or five hundred thousand demons were arrayed before them, the forces of High Cliff Castle could chop at them until they all died of exhaustion.

"To be precise, you could even say there are countless demons!" There was a hint of helplessness in Fatir’s voice.

"There are probably only about three hundred thousand demons right now, but a Space Channel connected to the Abyss has opened in our world. If we don’t close it, demons will pour in constantly. Once the channel has had time to stabilize, it will spell disaster for all of Debei, and perhaps even the entire Middle Ages Continent."

Fatir wasn’t exaggerating to create alarm. Because the Space Channel was still unstable, the truly powerful demons couldn’t cross over, and the number that could pass through each day was limited.

But once it stabilized, they would be facing the entire Abyss Realm.

Just then, a fluctuation of Elemental Power rippled through the air.

Ever since Levi started his Cultivation with the *Holy Word Treasure Manual*, he had become exceptionally sensitive to Elemental Power.

It was hard to keep secrets in such a chaotic formation. Levi quickly spotted a gaunt demon among the horde.

It clearly understood the importance of a Caster, for it had surrounded itself with three or four Six-armed Snake Demon Warriors as bodyguards.

But on this chaotic battlefield, such an arrangement stood out conspicuously.

The other demons had been thrown into a chaotic mess, yet a rare pocket of order was maintained around this one. A single glance was enough to tell that it was the commander and Caster for this attacking force.

After determining the range was less than three hundred paces, Levi acted without a second thought. He retrieved a Fine Steel Javelin from his inventory and hurled it forward.

The Wizard, a gaunt creature with goat horns and strings of unidentified beast teeth around its neck, was chanting something unintelligible.

It was only halfway through its chant when a black streak of light shot toward it, cunningly weaving past the demons in its path and aiming straight for its face.

The first to react were the Six-armed Snake Demon Warriors, who stood taller than a Tri-Blade. Their Martial Arts were truly superb, allowing them to react even to the sudden appearance of the Javelin.

One of the Six-armed Snake Demons let out a roar like a walrus and leaped in front of the Demon Wizard. It swung its six weapons—Steel Blades, Longswords, and more—which whistled through the air with a WHOOSH, meeting the powerfully thrown Javelin head-on.

SHIINNG! A brilliant shower of sparks flared for an instant and then vanished. All six weapons found their mark, striking the Steel Spear.

But to everyone’s astonishment, even by mustering all its strength, the powerful Six-armed Snake Demon Warrior could only alter the Steel Spear’s trajectory by the slightest margin.

The Javelin skewered both the Wizard and the Six-armed Snake Demon, piercing them straight through. The immense Power it carried was so great that it sent both corpses flying, finally losing its momentum only after pinning them to a Giant Stone.

Saint De, witnessing this firsthand, began to tremble violently. A Six-armed Snake Demon Warrior, a creature that had been overwhelming him in battle, couldn’t even block a long spear thrown from hundreds of paces away, even when using all its strength. Just how tyrannical was this Lion Hunter Knight’s Power!

Levi was no longer concerned now that he’d killed the Caster with his throw. Instead, he felt a sense of relief at the number. ’About three hundred thousand? Our reinforcements number over a hundred thousand. That’s at most three demons per person. Not so many.’

At this moment, Saint De no longer thought the Lion Hunter Knight was bluffing. He found himself agreeing with him. Three hundred thousand demons sounded like a lot, but what was that really, besides three demons per person at most?

"It’s not that simple, Levi. If they were all Low Tier demons like these Babu Demons and Little Demons, we would’ve taken care of them long ago." Fatir’s long, slender legs were clamped tightly around the Lord’s waist, her arms wrapped around his neck. As she shook her head to explain, the Lord felt something soft rubbing against the back of his head. She seemed not to notice, however, and continued on. "See those Six-armed Snake Demons? A High Tier Demon like that may be nothing to you, but for an ordinary soldier, they’re an insurmountable foe. It might take dozens of lives just to take one down, and even that’s not guaranteed."

Levi remained unconvinced. They might be tough opponents for cannon fodder, but for the elite warriors of High Cliff Castle, they could beat the shit out of them in a one-on-one fight.

"Just tell me how many," the Lord said. ’If there are only a few hundred or maybe a thousand of them,’ he mused, ’High Cliff Castle could take care of them all by itself.’

"A full thirty to forty thousand!"

"..." The Lord calmly cut down a demon that had long since lost its will to fight. He flicked his Longsword clean and said, "What’s there to be afraid of? Our King sent over the Griffin Knights and the Lion Heart Red Swordsmen. These small fries probably aren’t even enough for those two legions to kill."

The Lion Heart Red Swordsmen are equipped with the Demon Fighting Red Blood Sword, a weapon famous throughout the Seven Kingdoms. This standard-issue Magic Equipment is unbelievably powerful. It’s said that with every drop of blood it tastes, it restores its master’s stamina, freeing them from any concerns about fatigue.

Moreover, these Swordsmen not only possess profound Swordsmanship, but their Combat Qi Cultivation is also among the best. When they no longer need to conserve stamina, they can put their full power into every single attack.

They are truly Gods of Slaughter on the battlefield. They once achieved the legendary feat of eight hundred men defeating an enemy army of one hundred thousand. Since then, they have become the legion that every boy dreams of joining.

Unfortunately, this Magic Equipment was forged at Iron Forge Castle by the famous Legendary Dwarf, Dugan the Wild Hammer. Ever since Iron Forge Castle fell a millennium ago and the glory of the Dwarves faded, the method for crafting this Magic Equipment has become a secret lost to history.

As of now, only a little over seven hundred Blood Swords remain in service, meaning there are no more than eight hundred of these powerful Lion Heart Red Swordsmen.

The demons had already been terrified into submission by the unparalleled monster that was Levi. With the Demon Wizard dead and no one to command them, they could no longer mount any effective resistance.

Besides, their party’s composition was quite high-end. The Two-handed Greatsword Warriors were all Holy Knights who cultivated with the *Holy Word Treasure Manual*, and they also had Bodoff, a High Tier Caster, and Fatir, the Holy Light Saintess.

With the addition of a powerhouse who could withstand the frontal assault, the demons before them were hardly an obstacle.

"I hear hooves. My men are almost here." A sea of demons stretched out before him, so the Lord could only judge the distance to Gus and his Heavy Centaur Cavalry by the sound of their approach.

Behind him, even the Holy Knights, whose stamina far surpassed that of ordinary people, were panting for breath, their energy nearly spent.

Old Bodoff, on the other hand, had been panting for a while now, yet he still looked the same. He always seemed to be on the verge of collapsing from exhaustion, but never quite reached the breaking point.

Levi casually unleashed the Holy Light within him. Even in broad daylight, it shone like a small, brilliant sun, making it easier for the Centaurs to spot their location.

"It’s the chief!"

Levi heard the shout as the Centaurs began to take down their Longbows, nocking arrows to provide support.

The groups quickly met up in a corridor carved through the demon ranks. Levi mounted his nearby steed, Biefeng, held the soft and delicate Holy Light Maiden, and galloped off into the distance.

The poor Holy Knights, however, had to be unceremoniously thrown onto the backs of the sturdy Centaurs.

Like Moses parting the Red Sea, the party charged out of the Demon Army in a whirlwind, rushing off into the distance and leaving nothing but trampled demons and a field of corpses in their wake.
