Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System
Chapter 563: The Main Character Takes the Stage
“So, what’s your impression of me?”
“Hmm… Kind, generous, and never letting your emotions be swayed by worldly things. You seem as holy as a goddess, but for some reason, you love telling dirty jokes you’ve picked up from somewhere. In the end, it’s all just talk. The moment someone gets serious, you chicken out.” The Lord began seriously, but then he let out a sly chuckle, his tone shifting completely. “Of course, you’re also gorgeous, with long, slender legs. Most importantly, our future kids definitely won’t go hungry.”
“Father, Father, why won’t Sister Fatir’s children go hungry?” Little Buji immediately popped out from Levi’s head, her expression curious and inquisitive.
“That’s grown-up business. Little kids shouldn’t pry,” Levi said, silencing her with a piece of white milk candy.
“I never thought that’s how you saw me, Lord Levi. But…who’s to say it’s *only* talk?” Fatir retorted, still trying to act tough. She deliberately reached out and touched the Lord’s chest, as broad and solid as a mountain range. A faint blush crept onto her cheeks, unseen by anyone.
In that moment, she was like a pure, immaculate Saintess fallen to the mortal realm, an allure that worldly men found impossible to resist—let alone a man as virile as the Lord of High Cliff Castle.
“Worri! This Lord really wants to take you, right here and now!” the Lord threatened. “It’s just you and me here anyway. By the time we leave, what’s done will be done. Igo Saint will just have to stand there and fume, watching me have my way with the Saintess of the Holy Light Church.”
“Who knows, maybe they’ll even make me Pope.”
As he spoke, he chuckled slyly.
“I never thought you were that kind of person, Levi.” It was as if Fatir was seeing the true nature of the Lord of High Cliff Castle for the very first time.
“What do you mean, ‘that kind of person’? I just do what any normal man would. If a man doesn’t have these kinds of thoughts, he’s the one who’s not normal. I think I’m being perfectly honest, not like those sanctimonious hypocrites who say one thing and do another.” Levi was completely, unabashedly candid.
If he desired a woman, he would dare to carry her off to High Cliff Castle to be his bride, even if she were a Queen.
Who cares if a forced fruit is sweet? As long as it’s juicy enough to quench your thirst, that’s all that matters.
Fatir gazed at Levi’s unabashed expression. Coming from him, such words somehow possessed an indescribable, straightforward honesty.
…
「Another day passed in the Wilderness.」
They had finally reached their destination: the Central Area, the Tower of Sin.
It was a black tower built from black stone, standing at least a hundred meters tall upon a high plateau. A palisade and watchtowers surrounded it.
The Divine Servants who had fled from the Boundary Land could no longer hide their joy. Some of the more emotional among them even shed tears, endlessly murmuring about the Divine Lord’s mercy for allowing them to escape the Divine Abominations’ hunt.
The sentries atop the tall watchtowers spotted the massive column of refugees. Seeming completely unsurprised, they unhurriedly sounded a resounding blast from a great horn.
Four Night Wanderer nobles in white robes walked out of the Tower of Sin.
Each of these Night Wanderers wore a different coronet, fashioned from gold, silver, bronze, and stone. Levi moved closer for a better look. The four Night Wanderers all had different appearances; one had the body of a spider, another a serpent’s. They possessed body parts from more than seven different Races, to the point that they could hardly be called Half-Beastmen anymore.
They were just like the grafted nobles from a game he had played in his previous life.
If it had been hard for him to associate Kemisi and Kemini with Fallen Divine Servants, then seeing these crowned Holy Seats confirmed it. They bore a sixty-percent resemblance to the Fallen Divine Servants Igo Saint had described.
“Divine Lord above! Bless Their people for their safe arrival!” A figure with a spider’s body, ox horns, and distinctly female features scuttled forward on eight legs, crying out in delight.
“Yes, High Priest,” a Night Wanderer noble from the Dungeon replied, weeping with relief. “We were attacked by Divine Abominations. The Lord of the Holy Seat died a tragic death in the Dungeon buying time for us. It was only through a grueling journey and the Divine Lord’s protection that we were able to reach this place.”
“High Priest, how did you know we were coming?” another Night Wanderer noble asked.
After all, the Divine Abomination attack on the Dungeon had been too sudden. They hadn’t even had time to prepare mounts, so no messenger had come ahead to the Central Area.
“In truth, it wasn’t just the Boundary Land that suffered a sudden attack from the Divine Abominations. The other three regions have suffered the same. They simply arrived at the Central Area before you,” the High Priest sighed.
“How is that possible?!” All the arrivals from the Boundary Land were aghast.
But no further explanation was needed. As the people from the Boundary Land followed the four Holy Seats to the base of the Tower of Sin, they saw a dense crowd of others, just as exhausted as they were, already gathered there.
Inside the palisade was a vast, open field. White tents stood like mushrooms after a rain, spreading all the way to the base of the black tower that loomed majestically at the highest point.
Countless people of the Divine Servant Race, dressed in tattered linen clothes, were collapsed around campfires. A sliver of light shone in their eyes as they gazed piously at the Tower of Sin. Above its peak, a giant, jade-smooth egg sac was pulsating like a heart.
That was the Holy Egg! The cradle that would birth the Son of Hope!
It was the hope from a dream, sent down to them all by the Divine Lord!
Levi watched with a cold expression. Fatir, beside him, tightly hugged his strong arm and whispered, “Levi, I can feel a life gestating inside. It’s very strong!”
Though he couldn’t use the Holy Light in his body, Levi’s five senses were far beyond those of an ordinary person. He could naturally sense the life Attributes within the egg sac.
WHOOOOOO!
The deep, resonant horn blast echoed across the clearing, and everyone turned their gaze to the High Priest at the base of the Tower of Sin.
“Children! Our suffering ends today! From this day forward, we need not fear for our safety! We will return to the surface, and with every new moon, we will live under the sun!” it proclaimed. “For the prophesied Son of Hope will descend today! He will kill those Divine Abominations and avenge our blood kin who were so cruelly murdered!”
Just then, a faint tremor ran through the ground, interrupting the High Priest’s words.
Everyone’s gaze shot in all directions, their eyes wide with unconcealable terror. Their bodies trembled as if seized by madness. At the edge of their vision, at least a hundred Divine Abominations, each tens of meters tall, were converging on them. They dragged long hemp ropes behind Them, strung with corpses whose eyes were still open in death, carving a straight, bloody path along the ground.
“Lord Son of Hope!”
“Please, save us!”
“Oh God, do You see the suffering Your people endure?”
Everyone began to wail, crying out their prayers ever louder.
In just a single hour, these Divine Abominations would arrive and begin their wanton slaughter, wiping out the millions of Divine Servants gathered here.
CRACKLE… CRACKLE…
As if in answer to their prayers, cracking sounds came from the egg sac above the Tower of Sin, growing louder and louder. This made the Divine Servants believe their prayers were working, and they became even more devout.
Even Kemisi was on his knees, ceaselessly chanting prayers.
Countless voices of prayer converged above the Tower of Sin, forming a torrent that surged toward the egg sac.
Levi ignored it all. He just stood in the crowd with Fatir and sneered, “The main character is finally about to take the stage.”
His knuckles cracked loudly.
“Mmm~ I have indeed been slumbering for far too long.”
With that murmur, which was also a proclamation, the entire egg sac turned to ash. A towering man now stood atop the Tower of Sin, his arrogant expression commanding everyone’s gaze.
This man’s body was like that of a mythical Warrior, a shocking eight meters tall. Its lower body was that of a magnificent tiger, as immovable as a reef in the sea. It was as if the Creator had concentrated all muscle and masculinity into this one being.
Its eight arms, as thick as marble pillars, were crossed over its chest. A mane of long red hair gleamed in the sunlight, dancing in the wind.
Its eyes shone with a light that looked down on all creation. It seemed that even a Giant Dragon would have to bow its head wherever that gaze passed.
