What Digen said earlier wasn’t entirely wrong. A Demigod was on a completely different level from a Legendary. If killing an Epic-level being was like kicking a stray dog to death for the Lord, and killing a Legendary only required a bit of focus, then this Demigod possessed a full eighty percent of his own Power and speed.

Such a rare opponent made his blood run hot, boiling and surging through his veins. His muscles bulged, and his veins popped out like taut bowstrings.

Red iron smashed against black iron, sending sparks flying. Sweat poured down his back, mingling with the rain to soak his undershirt, only to be seared into white mist by his furnace-hot body. The metallic tang of blood filled the air.

The two were locked in a head-on clash, their hands splitting and bleeding, yet neither retreated a single step.

One was the Lord of High Cliff Castle, who had never met his match since he began his journey and had never backed down from a one-on-one fight.

The other was a mighty Divine Servant, a newly ascended Demigod whose pride as a powerhouse wouldn’t allow him to show weakness before a bug he saw as an ant.

This set the stage for an unimaginable melee.

This was the first time Levi had been pushed into such a desperate battle. His opponent was clearly a notch below him in both Power and speed, but that small gap was enough to prevent him, a man without any devastating special moves, from landing a killing blow.

And that massive body wasn’t just for show. A single glance told him its regenerative ability was monstrous; the hand he had just lopped off grew back in the blink of an eye.

More importantly, his opponent wasn’t just fighting him with brute force.

Each of the creature’s attacks carried an overwhelming torrent of resentment. This strange form of energy wasn’t restricted by the laws of this world. Fortunately, having cultivated the Holy Word Treasure Manual, the Lord’s Elemental Resistance was nearly maxed out. The only effect this resentment had on him was causing his mind to occasionally waver.

But for top-tier experts, a momentary lapse in concentration was enough to decide everything.

’The longer he fought, the more frustrated he became. If he could just use his Holy Light, unleashing all of it from within his body, he could at least severely injure his opponent, even if he couldn’t kill it.’

"Try this on for size, you scumbag!" Levi roared, swinging his sword with all his might.

With a loud CRACK, Digen’s Howl struck Urolo across the cheek, sending his massive body flying backward and plowing a long trench in the earth.

Before his opponent could react, a sharp pain shot through its rear. Levi had already closed the distance, reversed his grip, and plunged his sword into its ass. Then, he gripped the hilt and gave it a vicious twist.

The revulsion, coupled with the sheer shock of the attack, made Digen’s eyes roll back in his head inside the Dragon Crystal, and he fainted on the spot.

Levi was no stick-in-the-mud Ancient Knight who abided by a strict code. In his view, you used whatever worked. The "Yin-Teasing Sword" and the "Thousand-Year Kill" were the best ways to incapacitate an enemy. Almost no carbon-based life-form could withstand those two moves.

But as expected of a Demigod, it took both hits and only let out a pained roar. The attacks only served to enrage it further. It grabbed Digen’s Howl with its left hand and brutally ripped the blade from its body. Its right hand wasn’t idle, either, following up with a fist wreathed in resentment that slammed into Levi in the split second he was stunned.

It was like being hit by a high-speed train. The armor on his body flared with golden light in a sorrowful wail. Levi spat out a mouthful of blood as he was sent flying backward, embedding himself in the ground.

Struggling to pull himself out of the earth, he looked down. The golden Magic Armor Liya had given him, which amplified Holy Light, had shattered like a crushed cookie, falling to the ground in pieces. His entire body ached horribly. This was the first time he had ever been injured.

He picked up the nearby Digen’s Howl, now riddled with nicks and chips. Even as rain poured down from above and blurred his vision, Levi didn’t bother to wipe it away. The Demigod before him had truly reached an unimaginable level of power. He had to give it his all.

’Damn it, when I get back, if that old fart Igo Saint doesn’t give me enough compensation, I swear I’ll kidnap Fatir and make her the lady of High Cliff Castle!’

Even at a moment like this, Levi still had the spare mental capacity for such wild thoughts.

’As a veteran fighter, he knew that life-or-death battles weren’t like stories where you fight for ten days and ten nights before winning by a hair’s breadth. If you can’t win, you can’t win. It’s as simple as that.’

’Relying on physical strength alone, he really had no way to deal with this Divine Servant. It could kill him simply by wearing him down.’

But he still brandished Digen’s Howl and charged forward again without a second thought.

’The brave see a path; the cowardly see only obstacles!’

He wasn’t some brainless brute. His confidence to charge in came from the Holy Light Seed that was beginning to stir within him, and from an indescribable gaze he could feel upon him. A feeling inexplicably rose in his heart—the Holy Light Goddess was watching him!

"Oh, Holy Light Goddess above! Please help your pious believer eliminate this evil and restore peace to the world!" the Lord shouted. What he really meant was, ’Whatever blessing you’ve got, Your Ladyship, hurry up and send it my way! I’m about to collapse here!’

Unfortunately, it was completely useless. No golden light suddenly enveloped him, imbuing him with Divine Power and making him an unstoppable force, able to slay men and buddhas alike.

Wait!

His words may not have summoned the deity who reigned high above the world, but they did summon the representative of the Gods in the mortal plane.

To Fatir’s ears, Levi’s words were undoubtedly the signal for her to act. Without a moment’s hesitation, she ripped the black silk scarf from her eyes. As the wind carried the scarf far away, the Saintess’s eyes were finally revealed to the world.
