Chapter 1040: Chapter 151: Battle of the Divine Generals
The Hesse Legion, under the aegis of the storm and the divine might of the Radiance of the Scorching Sun, transformed into an unstoppable steel tide. The horn for the counterattack resounded throughout Blood Lake, and every soldier became part of the storm, bringing long-repressed anger and a thirst for revenge, crashing fiercely against the chaotic line of the Green Knights.
The Dwarf Warriors were no longer content with merely holding shields for defense; they moved forward like roaring mountains. The Rune Tower Shields, aided by the storm, morphed into heavy battering rams, pushing forward ferociously! Each impact was accompanied by the heart-wrenching sound of twisting metal and the dull thud of breaking bones. Those Green Knights, suppressed by Divine Hurricane and flickering Soul Fire, moving sluggishly, shattered and toppled like decayed wooden posts under the wild charge of the Dwarves. War Axes and Heavy Hammers fell precisely and fiercely through the shield wall’s gaps, targeting directly the spectral core beneath the bronze helmets. Amidst the crackling sounds of shattering, the Soul Fire extinguished, and the lofty bronze bodies plunged heavily into the bloodied waters.
The Hesse Knights on the water were even more at home. The Water Repelling Pearl stabilized the ’ground’ beneath their feet, Divine Storm weakened the enemy’s speed and power, and the Radiance of the Scorching Sun granted them nearly invincible close defense. The wedge-shaped charging formation they formed was indomitable, spearing through the chaotic Undead Cavalry with unmatched momentum.
The knights’ lances easily pierced through the slow-moving bronze armor, shattering the Soul Fire. Even if some Green Knights struggled to brandish their weapons, striking against the blessed Knight’s Shield or Plate Armor with the Radiance of the Scorching Sun, it would only trigger a deadly counterattack! Golden Holy Light, like an enraged sun, surged along the attack’s trajectory, instantly scorching the attackers into twisted, smoking wreckage and ash! The knights roared, riding the waves, plowing through the Green Knights’ formation, carving paths of death blazing with Holy Fire.
Heavy Infantry followed closely behind, forming an iron meat grinder. Shields were closely linked, and long lances protruded from gaps like venomous snakes. Whenever a Green Knight attempted a breakthrough, they were met by solid shield walls and instant outbreaks of Divine counterattack. In the air above the battlefield, the golden counterattack luminescence rose and fell, each flash accompanied by the total annihilation of an ancient Heroic Spirit. The Green Knights’ pride in their silent resilience now seemed so pale and powerless under the fierce counterattack and dual strikes of the Hesse Legion and divine force.
The cannon and cannon roar resounded like heavy drums striking for this destructive symphony. The cavity high-explosive incendiary shells exploded fiercely in the relatively dense rear and center regions of the Green Knights. Each explosion raised a huge mushroom cloud mixed with bronze fragments, burning skeletal remains, and filthy blood. The orange-red Purgatory Fire spread across the water’s surface, engulfing the Undead Knights trapped within, burning them into twisted, charred metal skeletons. The cannon’s solid armor-piercing bullets, like the ruler of Death God, carved out piercing lines. Wherever they passed, whether knights or warhorses, were easily penetrated and torn apart, creating terrifying flesh (metal) alleys in the silent flow. Where the cannon fire covered, the Green Knights’ formation was thoroughly shattered and broken, the charging momentum forcibly cut off.
Blood Lake churned, dense smoke obscuring the sky. The number of Green Knights rapidly dwindled at a speed visible to the naked eye. They remained silent, but their charging pace was now utterly disrupted, once impregnable formations becoming fragmented. Each shield strike by Hessian soldiers, knights charge, and cannon roar hit the core of the Undead Legion like heavy hammers. Bronze debris piled beneath the lake surface like mountains, the lingering spectral Soul Fire flickering briefly like summer night fireflies before extinguishing completely, dyeing murky lake water with a strange and hopeless spectral glow.
But just as the situation rapidly tilted in favor of Hesse Territory, the eerie atmosphere of the battlefield underwent dramatic shifts. With each Green Knight falling, sinking into the depths of the dark red-dyed lake water, the ancient, cold, death-imbued spectral Spiritual Energy within them didn’t dissipate but instead melded into the water like viscous ink! These scattered Spiritual Energy gathered and flowed silently beneath the murky blood water and mud. Initially, they were barely noticeable strands, but as more Green Knights fell, the bronze debris piles beneath the lake grew into mountains, and those spectral green energy threads became thicker, brighter, weaving an enormous and eerie glowing network beneath the lake.
When the number of Green Knights finally halved, and the bronze debris beneath the lake and scattered Spiritual Energy reached a terrifying critical point, a quantitative change led to an earth-shattering qualitative transformation!
The entire Blue Mirror Lake battlefield suddenly felt as if gripped tightly by an invisible giant hand, trembling violently! This didn’t come from bombardment or battle, but rather from deep beneath the lake, from those sunken and amassed bronze debris and the Soul Fire energy that hadn’t completely dissipated!
"Woo—Buzz—!!!"
A low resonance, powerful enough to shake souls, rose from the lakebed, overshadowing all the slaughter, cannon fire, and storm’s howl. The murky blood water began to spin wildly, forming six immense, bottomless whirlpools in the lake’s central area! At the center of the whirlpools, the spectral blue light surged out like a hellish furnace, no longer weak Soul Fire, but condensed into substantial, fiery, and ferocious pillars of Spiritual Energy!
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
