Chapter 1058: Chapter 155: The Fifth Spirit Plant and the Sixth Divine General (Part 3)
"This greatly inspired her and the soldiers behind her, who all fought valiantly to the death, firmly holding their ground in front of the flank’s long-range troops. At the cost of virtually annihilating this squad, they defended our artillery positions, ensuring the artillery never stopped firing from start to finish."
"By the time the battle ended, she was surrounded by a sea of corpses and blood, with the fallen bodies of Green Knights stacked into a mountain, the ash unable to disperse before being frozen by the power of ice, forming a mountain of corpses and ice tens of meters high, leaving the area deathly silent. Only Selanweir stood atop this mountain of corpses and sea of blood, gasping for breath with one hand supporting the battle banner."
"Even when we sent people to clean up the battlefield, she didn’t need help; she rested for a while and then came down with the shattered battle banner."
Upon hearing this, Su Li immediately got a vivid mental image!
On the battlefield’s flank, countless twisted and varied poses of Green Knight corpses; twisted arms, shattered helmets, hollow eye sockets completely devoid of their ghostly glow—they formed a chilling metallic wave, piling into a heart-stopping mountain of corpses, towering more than ten meters.
Selanweir just stood there, atop the mountain of corpses and sea of blood, with her back against the unwavering battle flag. Beneath her was a mountain of death and destruction, behind her, a torn banner symbolizing steadfastness and hope. This image spoke more to the title of ’Ice and Snow Valkyrie’ than any words ever could.
Su Li, who had invested countless wealth and resources in this Valkyrie, smiled and said, "Let her come over; I want to see for myself our great hero of the battle."
This Ice and Snow Valkyrie was not only filled with ice characteristics in terms of martial prowess, but also possessed an icy demeanor. This trait, while foggy and unclear, is actually very simple to summarize—Selanweir always kept a subtle sense of detachment from others.
This sense of detachment included Su Li. Su Li often felt that this woman felt no love for him, but was willing to do anything for him simply out of an indelible gratitude from deep within.
Both had cold personalities, yet she was completely different from Deputy Leader Freya. Deputy Leader Freya, although cold as frost, still carried an air of authority with her glasses, lightly adjusting her frames as she looked straight at the other person, embodying a dismissive, contemptuous stance towards the trivial.
But she’s actually a romantic at heart; she looked at other men as if they were trash, but for Su Li, she treated him like a prize and was willing to satisfy any of Su Li’s requests in various ways. Even on this occasion, she mobilized the entire Corona Knight Order to defend the vulnerable rear of the Hesse Territory.
And during practice, that unruly body would become incapable of pulling itself away once Su Li stirred things up, easily conquered.
But Selanweir was different; Su Li felt she was uninterested in affairs of love or knightly pursuits and preferred spending time cultivating in the Gem Pool.
Of course, when teased by Su Li, she would also blush.
Moreover, she’s truly icy and intelligent, excellent at flattering Su Li, with timely compliments that always earn Su Li’s special favor, not just for her capabilities.
So Su Li would often cultivate deeper bonds with her.
Soon, Selanweir arrived atop the castle walls; although her battle armor was shattered and stained with blood, it couldn’t hide her icy, serene beauty. Her long blue hair tied up into a high ponytail, exposing a pale yet delicate face and a tall, fair neck.
Having just gone through such a fierce battle, her expression couldn’t hide the fatigue, with the mysterious colors in her ice-crystal eyes slightly dim, replaced by a sorrow for the loss of life.
She stopped a few steps away from Su Li, her tone respectful yet calm as she saluted and said, "Lord, you called for me."
Su Li raised his hand to draw her closer; otherwise, this woman would always maintain her distance. He reached out and wiped the bloodstain from her cheek with his fingers and laughed, "Our great hero, standing atop that mountain of corpses overlooking all beings, despising all armies—did you feel incredibly suave? If I were you, I’d carve an ice sculpture on that ice mountain as a memento."
This tease instantly pierced through her cold demeanor; the ice-blue eyes slightly widened, her long lashes quivered, and a faint yet charming blush quickly spread across her porcelain cheek. She
"Lord, you’re teasing," she said in a still clear yet seemingly slightly trembling voice, "Holding the line was something the soldiers exchanged their lives for."
"Of course, no one denies the soldiers’ sacrifices." Su Li ruffled her high ponytail; this hairstyle was too sharp, making her seem less approachable. With her hair let down, she seemed much softer, especially with the strands of hair covering her forehead adding a touch of shyness. "But without your fierce battles, without this mountain of corpses and sea of blood, our right flank might have been breached. How does it feel to experience such a grand war for the first time?"
"It feels exciting and glorious." Selanweir pondered for a moment before adding, "Becoming your sharp blade, Lord, is my greatest honor."
Su Li smiled; this young lady always knew how to flatter him.
But this was also Selanweir’s sincere thought; she knew very well that without Su Li, she would have forever been enslaved on that ship.
