Pirate Kingship
Chapter 1311 - 627: Bountiful Harvest Collection, Old Gods’ Conspiracy (Part 3)
Simply because of deeply rooted class concepts, they lined up according to their rank, without appearing chaotic.
Soon, a beautiful girl in bright silver armor, so dazzling it hurt the eyes, stepped down the gangway, hand on her sword hilt.
Her golden hair fluttered in the wind, with eyes as blue and firm as iron, her entire body enveloped in a blazing holy light that made the night sky instinctively retreat.
Just as if she had only just walked off... the pyre.
Yet contrasting with this was her explosive figure, which even armor couldn’t conceal—a pair of long and sturdy legs like jade columns, a slender waist...
An angelic face and aura, yet a devil’s figure.
"It really is her! But the power activated within her appears somewhat strange."
No one in the Corridor of Truth understands Saint Joan better than Byron.
After all, it was Lancaster who ordered her to be burned, so no wonder he has the odd impression of her having just walked off the pyre.
Records state that before her death at just 19, she was already a powerful Fourth Order Heroic [Holy Knight], with extremely steadfast faith, strictly adhering to all Eight Great Virtues.
On the day she was burned alive, amidst extreme agony, she still shouted the holy name, allowing her faith to completely transcend.
If it weren’t for the constraints of the Glory Ladder Sequence on her mortal body, she’d likely have reached Fifth Order Legend [Holy Knight], wreaking havoc from the pyre.
Stronger than the three leaders of today’s Order of Knights.
Although ultimately burned alive, she was later canonized as a saint.
In other words, Saint Joan is recognized by the Church as an authentic [Saint]!
Even after knowledge activation, the same was true; despite not wielding the [Ring of Saintly Authority], nor equipped with corresponding Zero-Level Sacred Relics, she remained among the top ranks of all Fifth Order Legends, pseudo-gods.
Unphased, she could slay a small country’s [King’s Title] without it being a fantasy.
Moreover, this formidable character with a mortal grudge against Lancaster was given the "First Embrace" by the Lilith who smuggled into the Material World, becoming a Fifth Order Night Demon and overcoming her physical limitations.
Even more astonishingly, the domineering holy light, ordinarily intolerant of any forbidden force, managed to coexist harmoniously with the night demon’s crimson spirit light.
The sacred aura and aphrodisiac-like physique of Joan created a unique chemical reaction that nearly drove the night demons, tormented by bloodlust and lust addiction, to explode on the spot.
One by one, they raised roses and jewels, gathered around Joan without a trace of noble mannerisms and restraint, loudly exclaiming:
"Miss Jeanne, please grant me the honor of becoming your Guardian Knight; I swear no enemy will harm a single fiber of you before I die."
"Miss Jeanne, I’ve assembled commanders from various fleets to host a welcome banquet for you. Please grace us with your attendance."
"Miss Jeanne, please listen to this poem I’ve written for you..."
But among them seemed to mingle something odd.
"Miss Jeanne, I’m overwhelmed by your power and beauty; I beg you, please kick my butt with your boots."
"It should be stepping on my face instead."
"You both shut up; Miss Jeanne, please let me become your dog; I’ve practiced [Shapeshifting] really well..."
Even human nobility are known for their wild playfulness, with eccentricities like watching naked dwarfs solve math problems, which defy normal human logic, not to mention these night demon nobles.
They prioritize power over temperament, and having achieved the eternal life sought by generations of kings and emperors, none are more hollow within than them.
Their lower limits are ever more depraved than the extremity of ordinary human imagination.
Describing them with the term "debaucherous living" insults that very word.
Imagine, such a pandemonium, to a [Holy Knight] who adhered to the Eight Great Virtues and recited the holy name even to the point of death, it was utterly shocking!
At least in the short days since her "First Embrace," it wasn’t enough to fully sway Joan into her "Beastly side," joining the ranks of Fallen Ones like them.
Clench... clench...
Byron could clearly see Joan’s hand gripping the sword with veins bulging, divine aura surging almost to an erupting volcano.
He, masquerading as Vlad III, ought to have been among them, even the most distinguished of them all.
Vlad III preemptively coordinated with the other three on the island, of the Fifth Order pseudo-gods, signaling he’d be the sole Fifth Order suitor today.
Theoretically, his personal approach would crush other night demon nobles, capturing Joan’s heart.
Byron’s initial plan was to maintain his persona.
Backing down temporarily, when everyone else seeks her favor but you don’t, appears too out of place.
But at this moment, with Joan’s aura shifting, the [Sailing Logbook] revealed something different on her.
A familiar silhouette began to emerge behind her, though quite illusory, sufficient for Byron to recognize.
A graceful female form entirely bare, with several pairs of horns sprouting from the head, skin crimson.
Six bat wings, with two wings sheltering the face, two wings covering the feet, two wings flying, each wing adorned with six pairs of red eyes, tears of blood continuously streaming.
A voice quietly praised:
"Praise the...[Blood Angel] Lamia!"
Byron was stunned, nearly dropping the blood tax he’d held for a month to the ground.
