Planet Vs Aliens: Space User Saves the World
Chapter 166: Major Gains!
Huff…huff…
Naia, whose eyes were on the unmoving alien, heard a light flop on the side. Her heart clenched when she saw Kael’s knees had buckled, using his weapon as support.
She rushed to him and took out a first aid kit from the space, gripping his buttoned up shirt and opening it up by force, revealing his unexpectedly chiselled chest. No one would think that just three months ago, he was bedridden semi-skeleton.
However, Naia’s eyes never went to inappropriate places, her eyes were on the bleeding wound.
Kael was about to comment something roughish but when he saw Naia was near tears, he stopped himself.
Instead, his deep azure eyes stared at her face and figure, following every movement and reading every micro expression. Other than his pale face, there wasn’t any indication that he was in pain.
Naia, of course, knew that this was painful. This level of injury was nothing to them usually. But that was when their bodies were sturdy and trained and awakened. Not to mention, the initial wound was on the shoulder, but the subsequent pull created a gash towards the chest area.
This was too close to the heart! Just thinking of it hitting a more dangerous spot made her blood turn cold.
Anyway, she had no intention of giving attention to anything. She was too busy stopping the bleeding, all while calling to their in-house nurse, Liya.
…who ended up being useless.
“I…I…”
When Liya suddenly found herself outside of the space, she was shocked to see the destruction around her. Then she saw a monster’s carcass, and then someone looking like he was bleeding to death!
Her brain…just shut down.
She was just a medical student who hadn’t really done anything beyond the theoretical stuff. She had pretty much dropped out before her residency and got a related job through connections.
“I…I…!”
Naia’s jaw clenched and waved her hand, throwing the girl back into the space.
Darn. She really misjudged that one.
In the end, she—along with Linlin and Hans, who had long rushed over—helped Kael get properly bandaged up.
“Thank you but don’t do it next time,” she said, though since it was already done, there was no use wasting the good will.
She then turned her attention back to the opening, wondering if there’s anything there.
She activated her ability to get a glimpse of whether there were life forms inside. The meteorite itself seemed to have a passive disruption effect on her ‘sight’ ability, so she couldn’t tell what was inside. This was not a good sign.
She was tense, but she didn’t want to cause everyone to panic. She waited for Hans and Uncle to handle Kael, but she was prepared to bring everyone back into space as soon as she noticed an anomaly.
“Oh my gosh! That was so scary!” Linlin said as she flopped down next to them. Her knees were shaking the whole time!
Was that what they were supposed to handle in the future?
SCARY!
She looked at them with a teasing smile. “Who told you you can come here? What if there’s more?” They were obviously at a relatively safe distance a hundred or so meters away before.
Linlin paled, inadvertently looking at the large piece of rock which in her eyes had become very sinister. “EEK!”
Naia half expected them to go back to the car. However, instead of doing that, they stayed still with varying looks ranging from determination despite the fear they were feeling, and also with a bit of trepidation.
They even vaguely placed themselves in front of Naia and the injured Kael, as if blocking them from the meteorite bit.
“We’ll stay, we’ll fight,” Uncle Marcus said, and the twins shakily nodded their heads.
Her eyebrows rose as she looked at them. “Fight with what? With your hands?”
“…”
She chuckled at their wordless states and decided to stop teasing them.
She was still ways to go while absorbing the damned thing. They had to assume there could be more aliens in there. Risky, yes, but it was their best chance while they were weak.
If they delayed dealing with them, these buggers would absorb more life force and become more powerful. By then, a lot more people would die.
Killing that one alien? Yeah, they could’ve saved at least a dozen people from getting rid of it early.
Her attention went to the fallen alien. She and Kael had brought over some innate abilities but they hadn’t fully awakened yet.
It was like they had the default trial functions, only to unlock it after a trigger.
To truly awaken, they needed the energy core, harvested from aliens.
Her eyes fixed on the carcass for a while before shifting to Kael, who had been staring at her the whole time.
“If it’s there, you take it,” he said, already understanding Naia’s concern.
Only one alien was dead. Even if there was a life crystal in there, only one of them could awaken at this time.
Naia thought for a moment and then agreed.
Kael’s ability was highly destructive, but right now they were unclear if pure destruction was what they needed in this situation.
What if they ended up unleashing hell early? Naia’s ability, on the other hand, was much more flexible. This was assuming there was a crystal in there at all, of course.
The monster’s crystals were placed where their central nervous systems were. The question was where the central nervous system was.
It so happened that Naia knew the physique of each kind and she knew exactly where to stab, which shell to pry out, and how much blood would splatter.
The green disgusting blood splurged to the side. Naia’s expression did not change, while Linlin and the others retched at the side.
She put on her chemical-grade gloves and grabbed inside the body. This blood was acidid. Before awakening, it was not recommended to grab the cores through the blood with their bare hands.
Squelch, squelch
Squelch
By this time, the twins were already retching meters away, while Uncle was also pale.
Naia and Kael didn’t give them any mind, eyes focused on the carcass and hoping that there would be crystals inside.
Soon, Naia finally lifted her gloved hand, and there was a pinky-sized crystal between her fingers.
Will resume after one of the other ongoing stories end~ Thanks!
