Playboy: Medical and Martial Master
Chapter 841: The Might of the Taibai Immortal
During their conversation, Sun Zhe also took the two of them around the outer edge of the martial arena for a stroll.
In the meantime, Sun Zhe didn’t discover anything unusual, but he did spot quite a few familiar faces on the arena.
He saw Yao Yuelong, as well as the three elder seniors Tian Yun, Madman Zhang, and Old Man Meng.
Qi Xue, Du Linghan, Zhao Junwei and a whole group of young geniuses from Earth were there as well.
Sun Zhe even saw Jiang Yunfei and Chen Feng, whom he’d met back when they went to Northern Myanmar.
And that Chen Feng had taken a low-grade version of the “Human Emperor Pill” and now possessed an Undying Body similar to Sun Zhe’s.
Sun Zhe continued to wander about leisurely without going over to disturb anyone, because at the moment everyone was sitting cross-legged, fully focused on comprehending the lingering Dao-rhyme on the arena.
After they moved a bit closer toward the stone platform in the center of the arena, Huang Liang and Lin Feiyan suggested sitting down to meditate, saying they didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity.
Sun Zhe figured he had nothing else to do right now, so he decided to sit and cultivate for a bit as well.
But after pondering for half the day, he didn’t comprehend a damn thing.
“Huang Liang, that ‘Taibai Earth Immortal Scripture’ you mentioned before—how exactly is it supposed to appear?”
Huang Liang shook his head and gave a bitter smile. “If anyone knew the exact method, people wouldn’t be sitting here waiting around like this.”
“But there’s a common saying: if someone can attain a great realization here on the arena, then most likely the scripture will resonate with it and manifest.”
Sun Zhe nodded and didn’t say anything more.
Right now he was thinking that if Little Dragon Girl were still here, maybe he’d be able to borrow her ‘Dragon Dao Saint Eyes’ to peer into the mysteries of this Earth Immortal martial arena.
“By the way, aside from the arena, is there any other chance on this island?”
Huang Liang said, “We came so late that even if there were other opportunities on the island, they’d have been taken long ago. The island’s only so big anyway.”
“That’s true enough.”
After sitting a while longer, Sun Zhe really couldn’t sit still anymore, as if he’d grown hemorrhoids on his ass, so he stood up and, bracing against the pressure, slowly moved toward that circular platform in the center that looked like a sundial.
At this point he was still more than a hundred meters away from the platform, and with every step forward his fleshly body and Divine Sense had to withstand an enormous pressure.
“This pressure… must be Li Taibai’s remnant Divine Sense. If I use it to temper my Divine Sense, maybe it can help me shatter my shell and break through to the Soul Void Realm.”
Thinking of this, it was like Sun Zhe had found his objective. He immediately took a deep breath, lifted his leg, and trembling, moved an extremely slow step forward.
Seeing this, Huang Liang was shocked. “Master, you… don’t you care about your life? Under this Taibai Immortal Might, it’s like being stared at by an Earth Immortal; you could easily be annihilated, body and soul. Master, you should know your limits!”
Sun Zhe was gasping violently, sweat pouring down his body like rain, already too exhausted to respond to Huang Liang.
His eyes were bloodshot, veins bursting; blood gushed from his ears and nostrils like springs. His strong body of over one meter eighty was visibly twisting, as if some force were crushing him from all directions. At the same time, his sea of consciousness was surging violently, driving his mind toward collapse!
When his foot finally came crashing down, Sun Zhe was unable to advance another inch. He sat down where he stood, cross-legged, letting that formless Taibai Immortal Might wash over his flesh and soul.
Time passed.
Sun Zhe’s roiling sea of consciousness gradually calmed down.
He could clearly feel that his Divine Sense had become a bit tougher than before.
“Looks like this so-called ‘Taibai Immortal Might’ really can temper my Divine Sense.”
“This is some good stuff!”
Sun Zhe was wildly elated inside, completely ignoring how others saw him. He slowly got to his feet, took a deep breath, and gathered his strength.
“Wha-la——!”
All of a sudden, a strange black thunder burst from his body, exploding with a sound like space shattering!
Everyone on the arena was instantly jolted awake and turned stunned gazes toward him.
Yao Yuelong’s beautiful eyes trembled from within the crowd, recognizing the man as Sun Zhe, and she couldn’t help cursing inwardly that he was a total idiot.
The three elder seniors, Grandmaster Tianyun and the others, were deeply worried, yet at the same time profoundly impressed.
What Sun Zhe was doing now was something everyone present had considered, and some had even tried. But none of them could move a single step beyond the hundred-meter mark. If they forced themselves forward, at best their minds would collapse; at worst, they’d be annihilated, body and soul!
Several days ago, people had tried one after another to resist the Taibai Immortal Might and approach that platform, but not a single one succeeded; every attempt ended in tragedy.
And now another “madman” had appeared!
With his back to the crowd, Sun Zhe walked forward alone, mind completely focused. Under everyone’s gaze and witness, he screamed and roared in agony as he stepped ahead!
One step, two steps…
There were no demonic claws.
Only a pressure so overwhelming it seemed capable of crushing everything!
He drove Witch’s Step to the extreme, turning his Spiritual Power into lightning to stimulate his flesh, advancing step by step while letting out hair-raising howls, riding that momentum until he reached the base of the platform and finally collapsed with a crash!
The whole arena let out a collective sigh.
Some senior figures from the Outer Domain, their strength unfathomable, felt both admiration for Sun Zhe’s resolve and deep disdain.
“Didn’t expect him to actually tough out the Taibai Immortal Might and reach the base of the platform.”
“Ignorant brat. He thinks this will temper himself, but he’s just self-harming!”
“Impatient, not knowing how to proceed step by step. Haste makes waste—he’s clearly courting death.”
“He’s not courting death, he’s already dead.”
“…”
At this moment.
Under the eyes of everyone present, Sun Zhe’s body was being crushed and twisted; the bones in his hands and legs were all shattered and broken, his organs likely destroyed as well. He was nothing but a heap of mangled flesh lying there.
He really seemed to have no breath left, his contorted body lying quietly at the base of the platform, unmoving for a long time.
Huang Liang let out a sigh. “What a pity.”
Lin Feiyan’s gaze, however, was very complicated, with no joy at seeing an enemy die miserably before her eyes.
Yao Yuelong’s eyes grew moist as she silently prayed.
…
In the blink of an eye.
A day passed.
Sun Zhe still didn’t move.
By now, everyone on the arena was certain that Sun Zhe had become a corpse!
When two days went by with still no movement, even Yao Yuelong, who believed in Sun Zhe, started to feel despair.
But on the third day, white steam suddenly hissed out of Sun Zhe’s body, and the fractured, twisted limbs made cracking sounds as they slowly knit back together.
When he stood up easily, body light and unburdened, everyone was stunned.
“That brat actually didn’t die!”
“He can even stay calm and at ease under the Taibai Immortal Might. Could it be he’s already fully adapted to the Immortal Might?”
“…”
Amid the cries and discussions of the crowd, Sun Zhe casually began circling around the platform as if no one else existed.
The profound carvings on the platform were vivid and lifelike, as if they might come alive at any moment, but he really couldn’t discern any hidden secret.
“Huh… this part does look a bit familiar.”
He suddenly stopped walking, fixed his gaze on that cloud-like pattern in the very center of the platform, and narrowed his eyes, trying to recall carefully.
He was very sure he’d seen this pattern a long time ago!
“Where was it, where was it… where exactly did I see it!”
“Right, it was on that white porcelain cup!”
Sun Zhe’s heart stirred as the memory flashed back. He felt a sudden joy like clouds parting to reveal a clear sky, and immediately sent out a strand of Divine Sense into the Ring Space. His Divine Sense Body found the several twittering beauties who were drinking and chatting.
Zhu Yan asked curiously, “Why so flustered? What happened outside?”
Sun Zhe stared at the white porcelain cup in Zhu Yan’s hand, the one filled with beer. After a silent comparison, he found the pattern really was the same as the one on the platform, and hurriedly said, “Yan’Er, I need this cup. Go find something else to hold your beer.”
