Players: All NPCs in the Sect Are Moles
Chapter 431 - 412: Why Don’t You Just Jump Out and Let Me Have a Good Kill
Chapter 431: Chapter 412: Why Don’t You Just Jump Out and Let Me Have a Good Kill
She suppressed the wild joy and smugness in her heart, snorted coldly at the stubborn group to her right, and didn’t spare them another glance.
’Since you’re so eager to die, then go die on the demonic path!’
’There’ll be plenty of opportunities later to grind down and suppress this group who’s still obsessed with the demonic path even after experiencing a Heart Demon. I’ll make these wannabe demonic cultivators learn the meaning of despair until they’re crying and begging to be thrown off the mountain!’
Right now, she had more important things to do.
It had to be done! Immediately! At once!
She had to safely escort this group she had worked so hard to "dissuade"!
This mountain wasn’t exactly peaceful. What if, along the way, they ran into some senior brother who was practicing alchemy and happened to be missing a few "human-shaped medicinal catalysts"? Or maybe some senior sister whose magic weapon needed a few wisps of fresh flesh and blood to be consecrated? If someone intercepted them halfway, then all her hard work—and all the Spirit Stones that had been gushing away—would be for nothing!
At this thought, Su Ling’er hesitated no longer.
She paused before speaking, adopting an arrogant posture. Facing the group of newcomers waiting to descend the mountain, she said, "Now you understand. You’re all just a bunch of trash on the path of cultivation. You can’t even overcome a mere Heart Demon, yet you dream of staying in my Guixi Sect?"
"The sect doesn’t support idlers, and it certainly doesn’t support mediocrities!"
"Today, I’ll spare your worthless lives and take you down the mountain! From now on, don’t you dare take a single step into the Guixi Sect!"
After she finished, she barked at the two hundred-plus people on her left.
"You all, with me!"
Before her voice had faded, Su Ling’er formed a hand seal for a technique. A wooden sword flew from her sleeve, growing in the wind until it transformed into a gigantic wooden sword, hovering in mid-air.
She leaped, her skirt fluttering, and landed on the wooden sword.
With a wave of her wide sleeve, she, already at Late-stage Foundation Establishment, used her Spiritual Power to sweep up the two hundred-plus newcomers and pull them onto the broad body of the sword.
BUZZ—
The wooden sword let out a clear, resonant cry and transformed into a long rainbow of light, speeding toward the sect’s main gate.
The newcomers, enveloped by Spiritual Power, were crammed together on the sword in a chaotic mess, their feelings just as tangled and complex.
The mountain winds howled in their ears, and below their feet was a ten-thousand-zhang-deep abyss of roiling clouds.
Some were so scared their legs went weak, hugging the person next to them, not daring to open their eyes. Others, however, after their initial fear subsided, couldn’t help but feel a pang of reluctance to leave behind these immortal methods of flying through the sky and traversing the earth.
The wealth, glory, and beautiful wives and concubines from the Heart Demon Illusion Realm were still vivid in their minds, but now they were being sent back to their old lives, returning to the mortal world. It was inevitable they’d feel the disparity.
But on second thought, they realized that such mortal pleasures could only be enjoyed safely in the mundane, secular world.
If they forced themselves to stay in the gloomy and terrifying Guixi Sect, who knew when some devil would snatch them away to have their souls refined or use them to fill an array? After that, even reincarnation would be a distant hope. With their lives gone, what enjoyment could they even talk about?
A timid young man leaned close to his companion’s ear, his voice trembling. "She... she won’t just toss us off halfway, or secretly use us for a blood sacrifice, will she? I’ve heard demonic vixens are famous for getting rid of people once they’ve served their purpose..."
The corner of Su Ling’er’s mouth twitched involuntarily.
’Get rid of you? You must be brain-dead! Completely lacking in common sense!’
’If I really wanted to kill you, why would I go to all this trouble to bring you up into the sky?’
’Pah!’
’Ungrateful wretches!’
She glanced back at the mountain peak receding into the mist and at the figures on the summit, who had already shrunk to tiny specks. She couldn’t help but lift her chin proudly.
’Oh well. At least today, I, Su Ling’er, have once again taken a solid step toward purifying the sect and advancing my Eldest Senior Brother’s great cause of righteousness!’
...
「Guixi Sect, Eldest Senior Brother’s Abode.」
Unlike the bizarre scene on the Asking Dao Ladder, this place was still tranquil, a world of its own.
On a cold jade bed wreathed in spiritual mist, a figure was sprawled out ungracefully.
It was none other than the Eldest Senior Brother of the Guixi Sect, Lin Qingfeng.
He idly stuck out a finger and swiped at the empty air in front of him.
A screen of light changed continuously with his movements.
On the screen was a map of the distribution of powers within the eight-hundred-li radius around the sect that was available for exploration.
"Tsk."
Lin Qingfeng clicked his tongue, his brow furrowed, his face a mask of disgust.
’Where am I supposed to find my enemies with this interface? There isn’t even a search bar. I have to find them just by looking?!’
He swiped around for a long time but couldn’t find familiar names like the Celestial Sword Pavilion or Golden Light Temple on the map.
’Those guys already teamed up to try and snatch Anhe City from my junior sister. System, you could at least give me a red name marker to show me who I’m supposed to wipe out! If you don’t mark them in red, how am I supposed to know where their headquarters are?’
’They say every debt has a debtor, but I don’t even know where my debtors live! You six sects should just hurry up and jump out as a team so I can have a good killing spree before I hit level three!’
’Then again, if I go charging over there in the future and slaughter their entire sects, killing all those NPCs, my Infamy value would probably skyrocket. The system would flag me as a red-named player, and that would be a real disaster.’
’Then I’d be treated like a high-drop-rate world boss by the entire server, hunted day and night by parties taking on bounties. How could I enjoy the game then?!’
’That’s something I should wait to do until I’m much stronger. I’ll have to see if I can get an item that can disguise my cultivation level—a disguise the game system actually recognizes. Then, as a "weak" red-named player with a bounty on my head, I could be hunted by the whole world, only to turn the tables and counter-kill them all. Wouldn’t that be sweet?’
’Then again, it seems I don’t have to do it myself...’
’After all, I’ve already recruited a batch of... ahem, a batch of not-so-high-quality NPCs. Isn’t it only right and proper for them to seek justice for the Guixi Sect, which was humiliated and besieged by six other sects?’
’Let the NPC junior brothers and sisters bear the risk of getting red-named!’
’And if there are any rewards, I, the Eldest Senior Brother, will enjoy them on their behalf!’
’Perfect!’
’I wonder how the little junior sister is doing with welcoming the new recruits.’
’Ah, whatever. I’m not going to think about it.’
He suddenly remembered something. The Ashen Heaven Group’s official website was running a lottery recently. Apparently, the top five winners would get a mysterious prize. He wanted to log off and try his luck. Even if he didn’t win anything big, he could at least get a title just for participating!
Lin Qingfeng stretched, called up the system menu, and tapped the familiar option.
