Chapter 1419: Chapter 460: Storming Congress...No, Downtown!_3

A sudden blaze from the heart, anger burns in the eyes

Bang!

Todd slammed the protein block he bought with his wages onto the ground, smashing it to pieces.

He was the first to stand up from the crowd of workers, tearing off his work badge and tossing it to the ground.

"Damn it, I’m done! Whoever loves this shitty job can have it!"

"What are you doing! Are you rebelling?"

The foreman was furious, but Todd didn’t care, shouting at him.

"I quit, okay!"

After saying that, he turned around and left, leaving the foreman utterly bewildered.

But the foreman didn’t really care about losing one worker; in these times of hand-to-mouth existence, even a job screwing bolts on the assembly line was in demand.

Little did they know, an invisible flame had already ignited in Detroit.

Night fell.

Detroit’s Upper City District was brightly lit, multicolored neon lights seemed to turn the night into day.

The streets were filled with the strong scent of mixed perfume and alcohol; just one whiff could intoxicate anyone amidst the laughter and chatter.

Here, there’s an unending flow of fine wine and countless ways to indulge; corporate dogs come to the club and bar after work to revel in decadence, stimulating their already numb nerves.

Meanwhile, in the dimly lit downtown Lower City, the northern cold wind prowled through bleak alleys, revealing eerie outlines of dilapidated shacks under the moonlight. They creaked and teetered in the darkness.

Beneath a flickering streetlamp, a corpse hung by the neck on a rope, gently swaying.

Silhouettes of those who had calmed their wives and children at home pushed open doors, walking resolutely yet apprehensively onto the streets.

After their husbands went out, wives hesitated and repeatedly instructed the kids to stay safe at home before stepping out to join them.

They exchanged glances; family, friends, coworkers... The American satellite city community had its advantage in mutual familiarity, instantly alerting the entire neighborhood to any stranger’s visit.

Similarly, once consensus is reached, the whole community swiftly gathers.

Workers’ and poor communities are usually controlled by gangs, so Upper City District rulers aren’t worried about them causing much ruckus.

Yet now, the person supposed to monitor the community had been hung dead on the streetlight.

The local gang leader awoke in a prostitute’s embrace, staring down the barrel of a gun pointed at his forehead.

A shadow in the dark signaled him to hush with a finger to their lips.

"Shhh—quiet down, no noise."

"Who are you? Do you know who I am?"

Bang!

His head exploded like a watermelon, blood and brains splattering all over the sex doll, who awoke in shock, screaming like a slaughtered pig.

"Ah!!!!"

"Damn it, shut up! I told you not to make noise, keep yelling and I’ll kill you too!"

Pan’an slapped the woman’s face, silencing her instantly.

Satisfying!

She’d put up with these scumbags for a long time.

Adcardo couldn’t match players in combat, but with Lin Miao’s arms support, taking down Detroit’s Lower City gangs posed no problem.

Without gang interference, the Lower City inhabitants grew in number, including homeless people, workers, and retired soldiers. Many Detroit citizens were quickly rallied by Walt and the others like rivers converging, surging towards the Upper City.

Walt, Johnson, and Todd ran through the crowd, distributing strands of red cloth.

"Wear this, only those who wear it are with us."

Taking the cloth, Scott saw it printed with [MAGA] in bold letters, gripping it as the red burned like fire and warmth dispelling the midnight chill, igniting an endless power within him.

With those four letters, he dared step onto the street under corporate pressure, raising the flag in protest!

They were Americans! Descendants of that great (sarcasm) nation a hundred years ago!

Looking around, the Warren brothers from next door, the Griffin couple across the street, the lone veteran Warren at the corner—they may dress poorly, but each familiar eye bore the same blazing flame.

That flame shone brighter than the neon lights of the Upper City!

When downtown police noticed suburbanites driving en masse towards the Upper City late at night via surveillance, they instantly knew trouble brewed.

They quickly reported to the chief, then taking orders to gear up, driving armored vehicles to blockade the highway, with plans to suppress.

The news spread swiftly to Detroit corporate executives, initially dismissing it.

Just a bunch of rioters, nothing to worry about, it’s not the first time they’ve been suppressed.

But then they realized, how could such a large-scale riot erupt suddenly?

Someone must be behind it!

Who could be stirring trouble at this juncture?

Whoosh—

A hovercar suddenly appeared above the highway crowd; Lin Miao opened the door, standing skyward, letting the wind whip through the cabin, billowing her clothes in disarray.

The instigator was self-exposed.

But what can you do to me?

Just try having the police fire a shot in front of me, the White House Efficiency Department Director? Let’s see who’s so daring?
