Chapter 1492: Chapter 486: The Birth of Jesus in Zhumadian_2

A concrete wall several meters high was erected around the community, equipped with automatic cannons, armed drones patrolling, and armored cars were used as mobile security. For ordinary people, it was an insurmountable obstacle.

Unfortunately, players had breached such defenses countless times in Night City; the community where the Priest lived was not any more impenetrable than the fortifications of billionaire families.

The two of them used the optical mimicry device that Li De acquired from Lin Miao, activating infrared vision, performing various high-difficulty maneuvers like the most agile gymnasts at the Olympics, overcoming layer upon layer of barriers.

With stealth skills improved, experience in actual combat accumulates very quickly, even Li De would not dare say he could do better than Brother Ni, unless he considers Brother Ni’s odd luck in infiltration.

Though Ruzuo was a bit lacking, handling a community’s security was still not a problem.

The vehicle drove into the underground parking lot of the community apartment building. The security guard in the passenger seat got out first, opening the door for the Priest in the back seat, showing respect.

The Priest, who had already changed into a suit in the car, stretched his leg out to get off, glanced around, and only stood up from the car when he confirmed there were no issues.

But just at that moment, there was a strange noise in the underground parking lot.

Clatter!

It was the sound of automatic doors closing; the automatic shutters of three entrance and exit passages all lowered, sealing off the entire underground parking lot.

The security guards instantly held their guns on alert, watching every corner, while pressing the Priest back into the car and communicating with the external community security to inquire about the situation.

"Anomaly detected in parking lot B2 area, requesting armed support."

"Sound the alarm, I suspect an intrusion."

"Elevators are shut down, can’t open them."

"Sir, please return to the car."

One guard even opened the trunk and pulled out an Electromagnetic Rifle.

Boom!

A blast erupted, cutting off the electricity in the entire parking lot, plunging the bright overhead lights into darkness.

The security guards had no choice but to activate the night vision function of their cybernetic eyes and use flashlight illumination, but still could not see anything, the air felt oppressively heavy, causing each of them to sweat with fear.

During this tense moment, an abrupt voice echoed in the dim basement.

"I’ve arrived."

"My head faces east."

"My heart is on the left."

Pure English recitation

That voice carried a rhythm within its plainness, like a drama actor’s solo on stage, or the choir singing the Bible in a church.

But to the bodyguards, it was spine-chilling, they strained to find the source of the sound but to no avail.

"I bear the hammer of Asia."

"I fuel the fire of Utopia."

"I remember your murderous gun."

"I remember your captive chains."

The voice grew louder, as if people were chanting in unison from all directions.

And amid this hymn, someone uttered a scream.

"Ah!"

A shadow passed by, a head soared high, blood gushed from the severed neck, adding a vivid red to the black-and-white opera played in the basement.

"I am the Cthulhu in your heart."

"I am the mystery in your dreams."

That eerie tone even penetrated the bulletproof car body, allowing the Priest inside to hear each word clearly.

"I’ve seen the sculpted void."

"I’ve heard the forgotten silence."

Gunfire erupted outside, each flash from the muzzle revealing the fleeting shadow, yet no matter how much they focused their fire, no blood was seen.

The opponent moved like a cannibal demon, weaving through the darkness.

"I smell the cancer in the roots."

"I touch the decay in the branches."

"I reject the freedom becoming objects."

"I reject the joy of objects ruling men."

As the chant reached its crescendo, the gunfire in the basement grew fiercer, bodyguard’s blood splattered onto the car window, flowing along the trajectory, forming a grotesque yet sacred artwork.

"I’ll burn your temple!"

"I’ll melt your throne!"

"I’ll traverse the sea of stars!"

"I’ll establish the nation of multitudes!"

Boom!

A face twisted with fear pressed against the car window, broken cybernetic eyes spoke silent dread.

"Five hundred years of cause."

"Five thousand years of effect."

"The final struggle."

"The original promise."

The gunfire dwindled, all security personnel lay in pools of blood, the chant gradually quieted.

In front of the vehicle, two figures emerged from the darkness, slowly reciting, but their voices were clearly not from the same person who sang the hymn.

Their voice lacked sanctity, possessing only a kind of indifferent deathly air.

Their bright smiles, along with the surrounding fallen corpses and blood-soaked ground, stirred fear within the very bone.

"I’ve come, I’ve come."

"Follow me, follow me."

"Accelerate, steer, advance, break through."

Brother Ni: "Great wind, great wind!"

Ruzuo: "Fierce fire, fierce fire!"

Upon uttering the final word, the two strolled to the car window, one on each side, Brother Ni tapped on the glass, and asked with a smile.

"Will you come out on your own, or do we need to invite you?"

This reinforced car door, capable of withstanding direct shots from a machine gun, might not withstand his fist, not to mention Ruzuo’s axe, which was dripping blood and minced flesh.

The Priest took a deep breath, the muscles at the corners of his eyes twitched slightly, appearing somewhat unnatural. After a brief mental struggle, he obediently opened the car door and stepped out.

He raised his hands high.

"Which sect are you from? What do you want with me?"

The Priest had already decided that the people before him must be elite hitmen from a sinister cult in Atlanta; the earlier hymn was not something an untrained choir could produce.
