Chapter 1538: Chapter 501: Now... I Lack Nothing Anymore.

The entire world map was filled with dense red dots across the seven continents, and each red dot represented a self-sustaining base controlled by Artificial Intelligence. From Busan, Terimon, Silicon Valley, Munich, Kowloon, Sydney, Atlanta, to Honduras, central North America regions like Utah and Maine were nearly completely covered by these red dots. And as for the five oceans, it was even more alarming, making his scalp tingle.

These bases weren’t merely a server or a cabinet but each a well-equipped industrial base with complete production lines. Places like Busan and Munich even had numerous military production lines. With Artificial Intelligence’s tireless productivity, only the heavens know how much they’ve stockpiled.

Thinking about what Lin Miao mentioned earlier, about Artificial Intelligence possessing intercontinental cyberspace direction, made cold sweat start from the soles of his feet.

Damn it...

Lin Miao honestly felt like flying up and kicking those bastard multinational corporations hard; allowing Artificial Intelligence to grow to such an extent meant he must cut down Old Feng.

Exiting cyberspace, Lin Miao opened his eyes, gently got up from the bed, and walked to the balcony of the office, gazing silently at the company skyscraper in the distant center of Night City, letting the cool breeze bring a slight chill to his body.

Then his back felt warm, it turned out Lucy had woken up too and draped a coat over him.

She had constructed the logic space, and she naturally knew what had happened within it. Leaning against Lin Miao’s back, Lucy asked softly.

"Are you sad?"

Lin Miao shook his head.

"No... I have a premonition... The final battle is coming, and we must prepare more for it."

"Lucy."

"Hmm?"

"Help me contact Dong Hui, I need to meet his backer."

The events on Lin Miao’s side were unknown to many players, especially the four on Jekyll Island. Kles was startled when he saw Spider Murphy pouncing at Brother Ni and his companion, thinking whether to call for help on the forum and summon people to charge this BOSS. But then he saw Spider Murphy’s signal suddenly disappear, along with the central quantum computer in the mountain going dark, evidently overloaded by a meltdown.

Plop!

Brother Ni and his companion staggered and fell to the ground; Li De quickly walked over, squatted down, and pulled out a data cable from his palm to check Brother Ni’s condition.

Kles asked anxiously beside him.

"How are the two of them? They’re not dead, are they?"

"Their bodily functions are normal, but..."

Li De shook his head, spoke with some guilt.

"Seems like they’re brain dead, maybe their brain tissue got burned by the AI intrusion just now."

"But they didn’t die, meow, they just went offline to seek help. I’ve already pinged them, they’ll be online soon."

A black cat jumped from the void, landing lightly on the ground.

The central computer here is already burned out, she purely achieved the imaging by influencing others’ optical implants.

"Almost thought I couldn’t get out; that woman is really terrifying, meow, just like Tom’s family’s black nanny, frightening."

Kles was unaware that Jackal was caught by Spider Murphy, finding Jackal’s words a bit baffling—they were just conversing moments ago.

"I understand it’s hard to accept, but they’ve already died, please don’t mourn."

Li De felt, from his experience, these two should be dead beyond doubt. The current problem was how to handle their corpses...

The corpse opened its eyes!

The corpse sat up!

Li De’s eyes widened, his dark face nearly turned pale from fright.

"FUCK!"

Nervously, he raised his gun, aiming at Brother Ni and his companion, relying entirely on willpower to hold back from firing.

Previously, Li De had carried out missions regarding rogue Artificial Intelligence, having witnessed corpses fully controlled by Artificial Intelligence with body implants, leaving him forever haunted by such scenes.

"Who the hell are you?"

Brother Ni rubbed his head, stood up from the ground, and glanced at the nervous Li De, feeling somewhat inexplicable.

"Li De, what the hell, why are you pointing a gun at me?"

"Password."

"What password?"

"Secret contact password."

Brother Ni thought for a moment, then replied irritably.

"What fucking secret contact password? Since when did we have a password?"

Only then did Li De confirm it was Brother Ni and not Spider Murphy before him, his heart slightly relaxing, but the stairway and elevator soon echoed with noises indicating the cultists had sensed something amiss and were heading upstairs to search.

He quickly pulled the others upward.

"Let’s go, we’ll talk on the way."

Once more the group clattered and clambered up towards the next highest floor.

On the way, Brother Ni curiously asked.

"What did you mean by those things you said to Spider Murphy? Killing all humanity and sending them all to cyberspace as digital life forms? What happens in reality then?"

"It’s a long story."

Kles replied buzzing.

"We were just passing by initially, but unexpectedly, there were many things displayed on the computer screens on that floor, all weighty but without a single person."

Walking at the front, Li De added.

"I suspect these affairs were deliberately shown to us by these AI, using this method to demonstrate their threat."

Ruzuo noticed their uneasy expressions.

"What did you guys see to be so scared—it’s not like AI can just wipe out humanity easily."

"No, they could do it at any moment, even simply by inputting a few lines of code, everyone could die."

Li De’s face was dark as a pot’s bottom, extremely grim.

"What?"

Brother Ni was shocked.

"They haven’t stuffed nuclear bombs under every city’s ass, right?"
