Chapter 114: I See You!

  • Next Chapter

It opened its eyes, and like the rising Sun, the entire dark space brightened instantly.

No matter what it was, anything inconceivably massive would appear divine. Just like the Titan Giants of the past, whose every step ravaged the world, the poems left behind by Humans mostly praised their majestic statures. This gigantic Lion was exactly like its name, the [Nemean Giant]. It was akin to a true Giant, making its terrifying Level seem entirely natural.

Blaze felt his body stiffen as those eyes slowly rotated. Their deep, tunnel-like pupils were slowly contracting and focusing.

"Why did it wake up?"

Instinct forced Blaze to immediately lower his head, and the oppressive feeling vanished with it. Simultaneously, the Lion’s information displayed within his Blessing rapidly disappeared. Even his Memory seemed affected, as he completely forgot the Lion’s name.

Chicken’s body trembled, but she forced herself to stand upright. "It’s the [Hunter] ability! You’re forcibly analyzing its existence. The stimulation caused by this action far exceeds plucking out the Dragon Species on its body."

"I see."

To the Lion, even the Dragon Species were things it had to specifically squint to see, let alone Blaze, who was nothing but a bug compared to them. Even if Blaze were to Chop at the Lion’s eyes with Madness using his Sword, it probably wouldn’t mean much to the beast; it wouldn’t even cause a ripple in its emotions.

But analyzing its information was an entirely different matter.

For all entities possessing a mystical nature, their information was their soul, their dignity, and their most sensitive spot. It was tied to their very Life. This instinct ultimately existed because of the Foreigners. To the Foreigners, anything undiscovered through analysis was akin to chasing Shadows—they couldn’t fight it. But once exposed—even if it was just a name—their Life would begin its countdown. This terrifying causality had even affected these ancient entities. Therefore, the stimulation brought on by analyzing its information was no less intense than pressing a sharp object against a Human’s brow.

"Then let’s analyze it."

"What did you say?!" Chicken cried out subconsciously before immediately lowering her voice. "We have absolutely no chance of winning right now. If you’re defeated here, the [Leo] in your soul might be snatched away."

"Who said anything about fighting it?" Blaze pulled out the [Emergency Escape Device] and waved it at Chicken. "I just want to ruthlessly provoke it, and then quickly Escape using this item."

Chicken paused, then said in a strange tone, "Look, even if you eventually have to fight it to the death, there’s no need to humiliate it like this.

"This is literally like kicking it hard in the rear, then sticking out your tongue, pulling Ghost faces, and making an Escape."

"I see Foreigners do this all the time," Blaze replied. "But that was probably just them acting up during their [Growth Period]."

Blaze clenched the [Emergency Escape Device] in his hand. After confirming there would be no issues activating it, he took a deep breath. Committing such a blasphemous act as throwing mud in the face of a God-like, magnificent Monster still required a bit of mental preparation.

"Here goes!"

Blaze let out a low growl. Fighting back the trembling of his body, he forced his head up to look at the Lion’s head, massive as a city. Their gazes locked.

The giant Lion’s pupils contracted instantly as its loose skin began to tighten. The Transformation in its expression brought about an Impact akin to a violent tempest in the sky.

[Nemean Giant Level 450]

[...]

An immense pressure fell upon Blaze. His Armor trembled, his bones groaned, and his muscles twitched. Even though his Life Value showed no Transformation at all, Blaze felt as if he had taken a heavy blow. It was an overwhelming flood of information oppressing his mind, causing him to lose control over his body. His eyelids even closed uncontrollably, trying to stop his blasphemy. It couldn’t be helped—after all, he was trying to analyze and memorize everything about this magnificent entity.

The Silver Blood awakened automatically, turning Blaze’s body into the sacred form of a Werewolf, instantly alleviating a portion of the pressure.

The number of Skills Blaze could see was still increasing. If there was a visible progress bar for this analysis process, it would undoubtedly be the giant Lion’s face.

That cold, solemn expression—like it was looking down at a conceited ant—gradually Twisted. The dark cavern rumbled and shook as the wildly thrashing Dragon Species stood up in a daze, one after another. It was consumed by Anger, staring with utter concentration at this insignificant existence. The source of [Leo] mercilessly crushed that faint light. It was no less than a God granting Power to this insignificant being. As long as Faith still existed, he could not defy it. It only needed to take a serious glance, and this believer would die.

STAB—

Wolf claws of terrifying Sharpness Pierced Blaze’s neck from behind, causing him to cough up a large mouthful of blood. The Black Wolfman ruthlessly Twisted its claws, instantly dropping Blaze’s Life Value below half.

[Adrenaline F]

[Invalidate all abnormal mental states, Invalidate Faith Attribute]

"Hah—"

Blaze gasped violently, casting the crushing mental oppression entirely to the back of his mind. He slowly raised his hand, pointing a single finger right between the giant Lion’s eyebrows. There was a distance of a full kilometer between them, but that finger stung the giant Lion with unbearable pain.

That insignificant existence. That lowly existence. That firefly-like existence. Dared to point a finger at its magnificent self. Dared to look into its eyes. Dared to spout provocations as if looking at prey.

"I see you, little embryo."

ROAAAR—!

It could no longer be described as the roar of a living creature; it was more like the thunder of nature, the furious roar of the Earth itself. But Blaze merely held up the [Emergency Escape Device]. Under the effects of [Adrenaline], the Nemean Giant’s fury was nothing more than an enthusiastic send-off.

"Bye-bye!"

The most Advanced out-of-combat Escape device activated instantly. The first things to deploy were dozens of layers of the most Advanced Defense Magic.

Within a mere 0.2 seconds of activation, more than half of the Defense Magic was shattered. Everything in the area aside from Blaze was reduced to dust.

After 0.2 seconds, Blaze saw it. The Nemean Giant’s Skills vanished at a high speed, replaced by a rapid increase in other Skill Proficiency. Similarly decreasing were the Nemean Giant’s Level and its physique!

At the 0.4-second mark, only a third of the Defense Magic remained. But by this time, the Space Teleportation Magic had already initiated, automatically selecting the nearest safe zone. The space behind Blaze emptied out as the dim darkness instantly shifted into bright light. He appeared on a barren mountain peak. This was the Broken Steel Mountain Range.

In the distance, for some unknown reason, stormy waves were splashing up from the Hundred-Womb Ganges, terrifying the surrounding Foreigners into fleeing in panic.

"Will that Monster..." Chicken voiced her concerns.

"No, it won’t chase us out." Blaze looked at his Blessing. All the secrets of that magnificent, mystical entity were now laid bare before him.

[Nemean Giant Level 439/Embryo]

The Nemean Giant had buried itself beneath the Hundred-Womb Ganges, constantly absorbing the Evil God’s Blood to nourish its body. The moment its secrets were revealed, the Nemean Giant was dragged down from its divine throne, turning into a [defeatable Monster]. Therefore, the Nemean Giant had not hesitated to risk a premature birth just to gain the mobility to kill him.

Conversely, if there was no longer any way to eliminate him, the Nemean Giant would prioritize completing its own body. Just as Blaze had said, the raging waves of the Hundred-Womb Ganges lasted for less than a few minutes before returning to a dead silence, without even a single ripple.

"We can’t give that thing any more time to gestate its body."

"What do you want to do?"

Blaze raised his hand, struggling to prop himself up. He looked at the once turbulent Hundred-Womb Ganges, his mind made up.

"Gather the Foreigners, and launch a large-scale offensive against the Hundred-Womb Ganges."
