"You make a good point." Xu Huo's gaze darkened. If the premise that different spaces have different times holds true, then the game world should have far more than just one specially moving space, and the "time" in these spaces isn't necessarily equivalent either. That is to say, if a space with "curved time" has special space-time travel jump points, then different "time" jumps would also vary in distance. As long as one finds a suitable "curved time," theoretically one could travel to any point in the past or future.

The temptation was too great.

While he was silent, the other players had already started letting their imaginations run wild. The Unlucky-Looking Man said, "If I could travel through space, I'd definitely find the guy who invented this damn game and kill him first for all the shit he's put us through!"

Someone nearby laughed. "If you killed the game's inventor, then how would you complete your space-time travel? That's a paradox, it doesn't make any sense at all. This so-called difference in time length is just a trick the game uses to mess with players. How can you be sure your perception is correct? Maybe the past few days weren't really what we thought they were."

"I said 'if'!" The Unlucky-Looking Man argued loudly. "If space-time travel were possible, I bet ninety-nine percent of people would definitely use it to destroy the game!"

"That's not necessarily true," the elderly man said with a chuckle. "There are people like me who only manage to cling to life thanks to the game's blessings."

"You're different." The Unlucky-Looking Man muttered, then continued, "Everyone has relatives or friends who died because of the game. Wouldn't it be great to bring them back?"

"It would be nice, but that's just wishful thinking." The Baseball Cap player said, "Anyway, it's all just fantasy. Might as well think about something happier. If I could travel through space, I'd definitely go back and find all sorts of ways to get rich. Then when I entered the game, I could buy anything I wanted."

And so the topic shifted to fantasies about how to spend money after striking it rich.

"...I'd buy a mountain and build a temple for my master, to repay him for raising me." Yan Jiayu said with a bright smile.

"What about your parents?" The Unlucky-Looking Man asked.

"They left me at my master's doorstep and went away." Yan Jiayu said, "When I was little, my master told me that if he hadn't arrived in time, I would've been carried off by wild boars."

Many people gave her sympathetic looks, and the Knitting Female Player said with considerable indignation, "Some people simply don't deserve to be parents!"

"You're a player now, haven't you thought about finding them?" The Unlucky-Looking Man said with a sly grin. "Go back and slap them right in the face!"

"Why would I slap their faces?" Yan Jiayu looked confused. "Even though they didn't take care of me, they sent money to my master every month. The mountain where my master practices cultivation was borrowed from them, and they also sent me clothes and toys on time."

"Wait, your parents are that rich, so why would they throw you at the foot of a mountain to feed the wild boars?" The Unlucky-Looking Man merged the entire story together and summarized what he believed to be the core takeaway.

Yan Jiayu looked utterly shocked. "When did I ever say they fed me to the boars?"

Likewise, she too had condensed the core of the story.

They stared at each other, both having no trouble carrying on a conversation that could easily serve as the plot of a horror story.

Xu Huo cleared his throat beside them. "I think your master is the crucial figure in this story."

"You've been tricked!" The Unlucky-Looking Man felt he had won one back.

But Yan Jiayu just smiled and said, "My master would never lie to me."

She said it with such sincerity and conviction that it wasn't appropriate to keep joking. The Unlucky-Looking Man changed the subject. "I never would've guessed you're a rich kid."

Yan Jiayu didn't pay much attention to her appearance, preferring simple and clean attire. Her short, chic hair gave her a touch of girlish innocence, though perhaps due to her upbringing, her clothes were mostly cheap items that clearly showed signs of frequent washing.

"I only just got my bank card before entering the game." That was the reason she ended up in the same carriage as Xu Huo. Her parents hadn't yet had the chance to transfer money into the card of their daughter who had just finished her training and come down from the mountain.

"But after the initial review, exchanging partition paper money for White Bills isn't as easy anymore. You can only exchange for fewer White Bills, so it's not really worth it."

So she preferred to earn money by trading items and potions in the game, though the money she earned always got spent anyway.

"Actually, making money isn't limited to buying and selling." The Baseball Cap player interjected. "A lot of wealthy people hire bodyguards. Some pay by time, some pay by job. They offer very high prices, and you can even request to be paid in items."

"I've done that before." The elderly man said, "But the risk is high too. It's usually escorting important goods. You can never predict what kind of players high-level items or important experimental samples might attract. Compared to that, the money doesn't seem worth it."

"You can also take on training courses for young ladies and gentlemen," the Knitting Female Player said, "or carry them through dungeon clears. But for these kinds of tasks, both parties have to sign a mandatory agreement to ensure the employer's safety."

"All your jobs sound so impressive..." The Unlucky-Looking Man paused before saying, "Has nobody else here gone mining like me?"

Everyone turned to stare at him, their expressions becoming somewhat peculiar.

"You really mined?" Yan Jiayu looked very interested. "Were there any fun ores? I'll trade with you."

"A poor man's ambition goes no further than his stomach. I was starving crazy at the time and had no other way, so I had to work as a miner." The Unlucky-Looking Man said, "But what I mined was a type of white ore. The Game Government buys it at high prices. I heard it's one of the raw materials for making weapons."

"There are many raw materials for making weapons. Did you bring any out with you?" The elderly man asked.

The Unlucky-Looking Man immediately produced a square piece of milky white ore. "This is just a leftover fragment with impurities. The really good stuff is somewhat translucent and looks like it absorbs light."

There were quite a few knowledgeable people in the carriage, and someone immediately named the white ore and explained its origin. "This type of ore is usually shipped to the Platinum Eye. As for its uses, there are many."

"The Platinum Eye is known for producing precision instruments, including all kinds of cutting-edge thermal weapons." The elderly man said, "There's a saying that even the richest person in the world will leave with a thinner wallet. Lots of good things, but expensive too."

"No kidding," the Unlucky-Looking Man said quickly, "I heard they manufacture a new type of energy cannon there. Any game district that's even slightly poor can't afford it."

"But I also heard that the mayor of the Platinum Eye is looking for a partner for his daughter. She's the little princess of the Platinum Eye, you know. Long, black, silky hair, you can smell her fragrance from miles away. And that face... even though I only saw a side profile, she's absolutely stunning. Too bad I already have a girlfriend..."

"You may not be much to look at, but you sure know how to dream." Everyone burst into laughter. "Are you talking about the Platinum Eye's little princess? Would she go all the way to the Platinum Eye just to watch you mine?"
