Chapter 1055: *Title Hidden*

  • Next Chapter

In the ocean, a massive shadow swept past. Kyogre slowly surfaced from the water. Across its body, the scars branded into it by the Fairy Light were clearly visible, each wound shocking to behold. There were even scorched marks on its body, caused by the thermal reaction generated during the energy explosion.

Groudon appeared a step behind Kyogre. Its injuries were even more severe, though they had not yet reached the point of being grievous. As its Desolate Land Ability activated, the sea instantly turned into land and an island rose from the water. Groudon slowly emerged from the deep sea, covered in wounds as it looked toward the sky.

At that moment, Terrance’s expression changed.

"Even after all that... we still couldn’t seriously injure these Super-ancient Pokémon... Is there really any Trainer capable of raising a Pokémon to this level?"

High in the sky, Elite Four Glacia’s voice was hoarse, her eyes filled with intense unwillingness.

Wallace and Lance wore gloomy expressions, clearly in poor spirits as well.

"At this point, we can only apply to use taboo weapons of greater scale. Judging by the power and impact of this explosion, the League should now be able to estimate what scale of taboo weapon needs to be deployed. It’s just..." Steven pondered.

Once they used one, the entire Hoenn League would probably be overwhelmed with problems for years afterward.

And even being overwhelmed for a few years depended on successfully dealing with Groudon and Kyogre. If they couldn’t force them back into slumber, then Hoenn wouldn’t need years to fall into chaos, it would happen within days.

Bang!!

"I propose activating ’Black Rose.’"

At that very moment, within the Hoenn League, one representative slammed his fist heavily against the round conference table in frustration. When the energy within the Ice Moon had first been detected, the Hoenn League had placed great hopes on the Moonfall Plan. Yet the final result forced everyone to confront reality.

Power of this level could indeed injure Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, but it could not seriously wound them, much less force them to voluntarily enter slumber.

Sootopolis City.

The streets and plazas suddenly fell silent. After seeing Primal Kyogre once again stir up enormous waves and Primal Groudon begin summoning scorching sunlight through the public screens, the crowd couldn’t help but show signs retreating.

Whoosh!

The next moment, the crowd erupted into discussion, the noise swelling endlessly.

The Moonfall Plan had certainly looked incredibly shocking, and its destructive power had indeed reached an almost unimaginable level, but against Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, two Super-ancient Pokémon that had lived for over a hundred million years, it still failed to give the citizens of Sootopolis City any sense of security.

Next... they would probably have to hold Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre back and buy the Hoenn League enough time to prepare and activate a taboo weapon...

Terrance felt helpless. He still had one trump card left—the Z-Ring blessed by Alola’s guardian deities. However, using it would place too great a burden on both his body and mind, and he didn’t believe that a Z-Move with unknown potential could grant Altaria enough power to completely overwhelm the two Super-ancient Pokémon... After all, even if all four of Alola’s guardian deities came in person, they might not necessarily be able to withstand the power of these two Super-ancient Pokémon.

...

...

"Is this as far as you can go?"

"Who is it?!"

Just as Terrance was thinking, he suddenly felt as though the entire flow of space and time had come to a standstill, while a stream of information entered his mind.

Telepathy!

It wasn’t space and time that had stopped, rather his thoughts had accelerated. Terrance quickly noticed the difference.

The moment he realized this, Terrance was instantly startled. This level of control... was terrifying.

"I thought you’d be able to defeat them. Have you made no progress all this time?" When the cold and aloof Pokémon, whose body was silver-gray with a purple tail and abdomen and stood about the height of a human, slowly appeared before Terrance, transforming from an illusion into reality, Terrance, Altaria, Gardevoir, and the other Pokémon were all momentarily stunned before showing expressions of realization.

"Mewtwo..."

"When did you get here?"

"I was already here before those two Pokémon broke free from you."

Terrance gave a wry smile. Before dealing with Groudon and Kyogre, Terrance had thought of Mewtwo just in case. Mewtwo still owed Terrance a favor, one Terrance had never called in. So, to prevent the disaster from spreading, Terrance had Gardevoir activate the mark Mewtwo had given it, hoping to find a powerful helper. Yet Mewtwo had never appeared. Now it seemed that it wasn’t because it had failed to sense the signal, but because it had been watching from the sidelines, observing Terrance’s strength.

"So? You’ve seen enough now, right?"

"If you called me here so I could deal with them, then fine." Mewtwo looked down at Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre with great interest, a battle-hungry look appearing on its face.

"You’re not afraid?"

"Afraid?" Mewtwo smiled. "I’ve never been afraid of any living creature."

Terrance’s growth in strength could be described as incredibly rapid, but Mewtwo wasn’t deliberately mocking him. Compared with Mewtwo’s own growth, Terrance’s progress truly didn’t amount to much.

After leaving New Island, Mewtwo drew inspiration from Terrance’s ideas and began traveling the world. During that time, it not only figured out how to use life energy, but also successfully brought the destructive factors within its body under control. Through the unique fusion of those destructive factors and life energy, Mewtwo created two methods of elevating its life level.

In other words, what was commonly known as Mega Evolution!

After that, in search of powerful opponents, Mewtwo discovered a rift in the sky. It tore open space and entered the destroyed world, where it fought Giratina, the Renegade Pokémon that had been banished there for its violent temperament and had remained in the Distortion World ever since, for several days and nights. Relying on the extraordinary adaptability inherited from Mew, Mewtwo grew rapidly during the battle and fully mastered its two forms of Mega Evolution. In the end, it grievously wounded Giratina through equally brutal means before returning to this world.

The experiences of that period brought Mewtwo unimaginable growth. The overwhelming potential that had once made even Mew wary was now fully manifesting within Mewtwo.

Mewtwo had already inherited Mew’s formidable learning ability and adaptability, while the destructive factors that had coincidentally emerged within its body through repeated gene recombination made it fundamentally different from Mew, granting it the potential to surpass Mew. Of course, those destructive factors had also been the primary reason behind its violent personality in the beginning. But now that it had completely mastered both powers, Mewtwo could truly be said to have reached the level of a genuine legend. No wonder it had no fear of Groudon and Kyogre.

"I wonder whether I’m qualified to fight alongside you." Terrance smiled calmly. Although he still didn’t know what Mewtwo’s trump card was, Mewtwo’s confidence had already given him an intense sense of security.

"Do as you like." Mewtwo didn’t even glance at Terrance before turning its head away.

This guy...

The moment Mewtwo turned away, Terrance suddenly felt time and space return to normal. Mewtwo’s ability to accelerate thought once again left Terrance deeply shocked.

At the same time, Terrance sent out a new report, handed command of the Fairy Army over to Gardevoir, and ordered it to retreat.

"This is Terrance. I’ll fight Groudon and Kyogre once more. Please make the next decision according to how the battle develops."

After leaving that message, Terrance didn’t wait to regroup with Steven and the others. Riding Altaria, with Diancie and Gallade beside him, he hurried after Mewtwo, which had already flown downward.

"It’s been watching the show all day, and now it’s suddenly in a hurry."

Meanwhile, in a place Terrance hadn’t noticed, a pink Pokémon slowly flew past, its eyes filled with curiosity...
