Julian raised an eyebrow.
When Garchomp, who already possessed overwhelming power, also gained overwhelming speed...
The Elite Four were going to have a bad time.
Julian paused.
Wait...
He suddenly remembered something.
He seemed to have agreed with Cynthia that after passing the Gym assessment, he would challenge the Elite Four...
Did that not mean he had personally created a monster-like opponent for himself?
Me, fighting Cynthia?
Julian sucked in a cold breath, suddenly feeling a little numb.
No rush.
Time would give him the answer.
After a few more simulations, perhaps he would find a way to deal with it.
With Goodra in front and Garchomp behind, Kleavor directly raised his hands.
He surrendered.
Julian once again used Aura to communicate with Kleavor.
"Now, can you tell us who the master of this forest is?"
Kleavor stood up.
"I can’t tell you, but I can tell you which direction to go if you want to meet her."
Julian asked, "Which way?"
Kleavor pointed.
"Walk that way, and you’ll be able to meet her. But the other guardians won’t be as easy to deal with as I was."
"The road I’m pointing you towards is correct. Everyone guards a path you must pass. You have to defeat them before you can continue forward."
Julian smiled and said, "Don’t worry. We aren’t afraid of challenges."
Cynthia smiled.
"Are the Pokémon ahead stronger than you?"
Kleavor’s expression darkened slightly, but he still nodded.
"We won’t disturb you cutting wood, then. We’ll go first. This is a greeting gift."
Julian was still very polite and left Kleavor a portion of Pokémon food.
Watching Julian and Cynthia leave, Kleavor lowered his head and smelled it, then tentatively took a bite.
Surprise flashed through his eyes.
Had humans outside already become this good at making food?
Then he inhaled it like a storm. After finishing it, still somewhat unsatisfied, he resumed chopping wood.
But in his heart, Kleavor was wondering whether, when Julian came back, he could ask Julian for a little more of those crunchy pellets.
Julian and Cynthia continued forward and suddenly saw a river.
A large fish leapt from the river, staring at them coldly.
Cynthia took out her camera and snapped several photos of the large fish.
"Isn’t this the same kind of big fish you drew last time?"
Julian nodded.
"Basculegion. Basculin’s evolution."
Julian used Aura to communicate, and Basculegion said coldly, "Leave, or die!"
Julian shrugged.
"Still have to fight."
Cynthia smiled slightly.
"Goodra fought earlier. This time, it’s my and Garchomp’s turn."
"Garchomp, Brick Break!"
Julian said nothing and silently watched Cynthia perform.
Garchomp swung her fin down.
It missed.
Basculegion flicked its tail and directly sent the caught-off-guard Garchomp flying.
Cynthia narrowed her eyes slightly.
"So it’s Ghost type too."
Julian hurriedly raised his head.
He had seen nothing.
"Dragon Claw!"
Basculegion was somewhat surprised.
After being struck by his Wave Crash, this Garchomp could actually get back up and continue fighting so easily.
This Garchomp was very strong!
Basculegion did not dodge. Wrapped in a torrent of water, he rushed forward.
Aqua Jet collided with Dragon Claw. Garchomp was sent flying into the sky, while Basculegion crashed into the river.
"Dragon Rush!"
Basculegion had only just rushed out of the water when Garchomp’s Dragon Rush smashed him back into the river.
The immense force scattered in all directions. For a moment, the river was broken apart by Garchomp’s powerful strength, its flow forcibly cut off.
Only after several seconds did the river return to its original state.
Garchomp carried Basculegion and landed beside Julian.
"Basculegion, can you tell us who the master of the forest is?"
Basculegion closed his eyes and said nothing.
"Fine."
Julian took out medicine and gave Basculegion simple treatment.
He also took out a portion of food.
"This is a greeting gift for you."
After crossing the river, the two arrived at a green bamboo forest.
Julian narrowed his eyes slightly.
"I can feel a powerful Pokémon living here."
Sure enough, along with the cry of a night owl, rustling sounds came from the bamboo forest.
A knight wearing a woven hat appeared before Julian.
Cynthia was somewhat curious.
"Is this the ancient Sinnoh regional form of Alola’s Decidueye?"
Julian nodded.
"Probably."
Julian thought for a moment and decided to send Hakamo-o into battle.
He would let Hakamo-o battle this fellow Alolan who was not actually from Alola.
Cynthia smiled.
"An internal battle between Alolan Pokémon? Interesting."
Decidueye had no idea what an Alolan Hakamo-o was.
He was Hisuian, born and raised!
Decidueye launched the first attack, swinging a fist as he charged forward.
Rock Smash!
"Meet it. Brick Break!"
Decidueye punched forward, but he could not break through Hakamo-o’s dragon scales at all.
Hakamo-o smiled faintly, then swung his Dragon Claw downward.
Decidueye twisted flexibly, avoiding Hakamo-o’s attack.
"Dragon Breath."
Hakamo-o quickly spat out Dragon Breath. Decidueye could not dodge in time and was struck directly in the chest.
He spun two and a half times through the air before landing steadily.
Decidueye narrowed his eyes and raised a hand, condensing an Aura Sphere before firing it towards Hakamo-o.
Hakamo-o also condensed an Aura Sphere and returned the blow to Decidueye.
Julian felt a little envious.
Seeing his expression, Cynthia smiled faintly.
"What, do you want to catch this Decidueye?"
Julian nodded, but he knew a Decidueye carrying this kind of mission could not become his Pokémon.
"Let’s wait until we meet the master of the forest."
Hakamo-o roared and took the initiative to charge towards Decidueye.
Decidueye did not dodge and also advanced to meet him.
He switched to using Rock Smash with his talons.
The powerful force even temporarily suppressed Hakamo-o.
Stepping on Hakamo-o’s arm, Decidueye flew up.
Then he suddenly drew arrows.
Triple Arrows!
This was Hisuian Decidueye’s signature move, and its effect was quite absurd.
It had a higher critical-hit rate, a fifty percent chance to lower the enemy’s Defense, and a thirty percent chance to make the enemy flinch.
In Julian’s evaluation, this was a move that did not lose out to Goodra’s Shelter!
Triple Arrows struck the same scale on Hakamo-o’s body three times, directly shattering it.
Hakamo-o roared in pain, but an excited expression appeared on his face.
Again!
Use that move again!
Air currents surged around Hakamo-o’s body. With a loud roar, he lunged forward.
Close Combat!
Decidueye flapped his wings, grabbed onto bamboo with one foot, and looked at the excited Hakamo-o with a slight frown.
Is this guy a masochist?
When a normal Pokémon’s strong defence was broken, they should be shocked, doubtful, or wary.
Under Triple Arrows, enemies had always shown fear.
This was the first time Decidueye had seen a Pokémon attacked by Triple Arrows still reveal an excited expression!
Swooping down from the bamboo, Decidueye used both feet to deal with Hakamo-o’s Close Combat.
After having his scales broken, why had this guy’s strength increased?
Once again, Decidueye flew up.
Triple Arrows!
Again, he shattered the dragon scales and dealt significant damage to Hakamo-o.
Hakamo-o directly entered a frenzy!
Outrage!
Decidueye had never feared a challenge. With a long cry, he naturally rushed forward to face Hakamo-o head-on.
Julian raised an eyebrow.
He liked Decidueye more and more.
This was a proper ancient knight!
