Pokémon: My Online Friend Is Cynthia
Chapter 264: One-Punch Man
Chapter 264: Chapter 264: One-Punch Man
Julian narrowed his eyes slightly.
"No rush. Let them burn off a little more of that anger first. If we stop them too early, they’ll only look for another chance to keep fighting."
It was not that Julian could not interfere.
The problem was making them stop in a way they would actually accept.
Forcing two furious Pokémon apart too soon would only leave the grudge unresolved.
Mewtwo and Mew continued clashing in mid-air.
At first, they had only been wrapping themselves in Psychic barriers and ramming into each other, blue and pink light colliding again and again. Each impact sent golden ripples spreading through the arena.
But as the fight dragged on, both sides began to lose patience.
The playful smile on Mew’s face faded slightly.
Mewtwo’s eyes grew colder.
They were no longer satisfied with simple barrier collisions.
Mew descended first, pink Psychic energy burning around her small body like a flame.
Mewtwo followed, blue Psychic light flaring around him.
A moment later, both fired.
Pink and blue beams of Psychic energy collided in the centre of the arena.
The impact erupted into a violent explosion.
Misty hugged Togepi tightly, her eyes filled with shock and worry.
"They’re too strong!"
Brock nodded gravely.
"So this is the power of legendary Pokémon..."
Paul gripped the Poké Ball in his hand, his eyes fixed on the battle.
One day, he wanted his own Pokémon to reach that level.
Ash, however, looked anxious.
As a Trainer who genuinely loved Pokémon, he did not want to watch Mew and Mewtwo fight over something like "original" and "clone."
To him, this battle felt pointless.
But to Mewtwo, it was not pointless.
He needed an answer.
The shockwave pushed Mew and Mewtwo backwards. After stabilising themselves, the Psychic flames around them rose again.
At that moment, a pure white sphere of energy appeared in Julian’s hand.
He watched the timing carefully, then fired.
The energy sphere shot between the two incoming Psychic beams and exploded.
For a brief instant, the pink and blue light were forced apart, weakening the collision before it could fully erupt.
Julian stepped forward.
"You two, that’s enough for today."
Mew and Mewtwo both looked at him.
Julian continued calmly, "You don’t even look the same. How can one of you simply be called a copy of the other?"
"You are both Pokémon who exist in this world as yourselves."
"There’s no need to keep fighting over something that doesn’t decide who you are."
Mew blinked.
Mewtwo’s gaze flickered.
But only for a moment.
Neither of them had truly accepted it.
The next second, pink and blue Psychic energy gathered again, stronger than before. The air around the arena trembled as their power rose.
Julian’s expression darkened slightly.
Maylene sighed.
"Brother, it looks like talking alone isn’t going to work."
Cynthia nodded.
"Then let’s each stop one of them. If they won’t listen, we’ll make them stop."
Julian shook his head.
"Leave it to me."
Cynthia frowned.
"That’s too risky. Let Garchomp hold one of them back."
"No." Julian looked at Mew and Mewtwo. "If I step in with Pokémon, it becomes another battle. If I go alone, it becomes mediation."
Maylene’s expression turned serious too.
"Brother, don’t force yourself. Mew and Mewtwo are stronger than Elite Four-level Pokémon."
Julian smiled and raised his fist.
"Your brother’s fists aren’t that weak."
Mewtwo was terrifyingly powerful, but his battling was still unpolished.
He had overwhelming Psychic strength, yet he relied too heavily on raw power, speed, and instinct.
Mew was different.
She looked playful and careless, drifting through the air as if this entire fight was just another game, but her control was effortless. Psychic power came to her as naturally as breathing.
That was why Julian’s first target was not Mew’s body.
It was the point where Mew and Mewtwo’s power met.
Dark energy gathered around his fist.
Aura locked onto the unstable centre of the clash.
Mew and Mewtwo fired at the same time.
Pink and blue light tore through the air.
Julian stepped between them.
"Enough."
He drove his fist forward.
Wicked Blow!
The strike did not hit Mew.
It did not hit Mewtwo.
Instead, it pierced straight into the point where their Psychic energy overlapped.
For a split second, the pink and blue light twisted violently around Julian’s fist.
Then the clash shattered.
The explosion burst outward, but Julian had already forced the two streams apart. Mew spun backwards through the air, startled rather than hurt. Mewtwo was also pushed back, his eyes narrowing in shock.
Julian landed between them, one hand raised towards Mew, the other towards Mewtwo.
The dark energy around his fist had not fully faded.
Mew hovered in the air, blinking at him.
For once, she was not smiling.
Mewtwo stared at Julian in silence.
Team Rocket’s trio widened their eyes from where they were hiding.
Meowth’s tail shot straight up.
"He just punched through both of their attacks, meow!"
James swallowed.
"That’s still something a human can do?"
Jessie stared blankly.
"I’m starting to think we picked the wrong career."
Ash’s eyes shone.
"Julian is amazing..."
Cynthia’s eyes softened slightly.
That was the right choice.
Just stepping in and ending the clash.
Mew circled Julian once, then curiously reached towards the fading energy around his fist.
Her paw touched it.
She paused, then pulled back with a blink.
It was not fear. Mew was far too familiar with different kinds of moves for that.
The Dark-type energy simply felt sharp. Compressed, and unpleasantly precise, like a knife.
Julian lowered his hand.
"Careful."
Mew tilted her head.
Maylene held up a chocolate crepe.
"Want another one?"
Mew’s eyes immediately brightened.
Whatever dignity a Mythical Pokémon had just recovered vanished on the spot.
She flew straight into Maylene’s arms and grabbed the crepe with both paws.
Julian looked at Mewtwo.
"Are we still fighting?"
Mewtwo stayed silent.
A wary look flashed through his eyes.
He did not want to take Wicked Blow again, and he’d already expended too much energy battling everyone today. He still didn’t have full control over himself.
But openly admitting defeat clearly did not fit his personality either.
So Mewtwo simply floated there without saying anything.
Julian nodded.
"Good. Then the fighting is over."
He turned back to Mew.
"You were very happy eating that chocolate crepe earlier. I’ll make more."
"Enough fighting. Everyone can eat together."
Mew nodded quickly while chewing.
Maylene hugged Mew carefully this time.
"Leave her to me."
Julian glanced at her.
"Gently."
Maylene froze.
Then she loosened her arms a little.
Mew let out a relieved breath and continued eating the crepe as if nothing had happened.
Although Maylene did not have strength as overwhelming as Julian’s, after training with the Dark Scroll, her already natural strength had grown even further.
Her body also carried a faint trace of Wicked Blow’s Dark-type energy.
It did not make her immune to Psychic power, but it did make Psychic influence less effective against her than it should have been.
If Maylene kept training, perhaps one day, she really could walk a path similar to Single Strike Style Urshifu.
