Pokémon: My Online Friend Is Cynthia
Chapter 333: Another Battle With Pottery
Chapter 333: Chapter 333: Another Battle With Pottery
Early the next morning, when Julian and Cynthia met, both of them felt a little awkward.
"Good morning."
"Good morning to you too."
But by the time they walked from the room to the exit of the guesthouse, that awkwardness had faded.
Julian had thought it through.
Whether she was Cassia or Cynthia, she was still the same person. Since the person he liked was one person, what was there to feel awkward about?
Cynthia was the same.
Cassia and Cynthia were both her.
What was she feeling awkward for?
Julian smiled and asked, "What do you want to eat? I’ll go to the restaurant and make it for you myself."
Cynthia raised an eyebrow.
"That breakfast you made for me at Veilstone Gym," Cynthia said. "The crisp fried pastries with the sweet drink. I liked that."
"I’ve never found anything quite like it outside. Can you make it again?"
There was not enough time to prepare the drink properly, but the pastries would be simple enough.
"Would honey milk work instead?"
Cynthia nodded at once.
"That’s perfect."
As long as it was sweet and the pastries were crisp, she had no complaints.
Shaymin, who had disappeared somewhere after dinner last night, suddenly ran out from who knew where.
"Let’s go. I’ll have breakfast with you. After eating, I’ll be flying away. I won’t see you again until next year."
Cynthia asked curiously, "Shaymin, where are you flying to?"
Shaymin proudly raised her head.
"Wherever flowers need to bloom, that’s where I’ll be. I’ll keep flying around this land."
"I’ll let everyone see blooming flowers and live happily."
Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon.
A Pokémon that purified the land’s pollution and allowed the earth to bloom with life again.
She was indeed worthy of respect.
"Come on, I’ll treat you to breakfast."
As for Shaymin, a sweet pancake drizzled with Honey was enough to make her eat happily.
For Cynthia, Julian first served a cup of honey milk and some sweet pork jerky to line her stomach.
The fried pastries needed some time to make.
When Julian brought it out, Shaymin’s gaze was immediately drawn to it.
"What’s this? Let me try whether it tastes good."
Shaymin directly hugged a pastry and began eating.
Cynthia picked up a piece, dipped it into the honey milk, waited for it to soak up the milk, then put it into her mouth.
Instant satisfaction!
Shaymin watched her.
"Let me try whether it tastes good after being dipped in that sweet milk too."
Cynthia gave Shaymin a small piece.
Her eyes instantly widened from how good it tasted.
"This flavour!"
While Shaymin was still hugging the pastry and nibbling on it, several Sky Forme Shaymin had already flown into the sky outside.
Shaymin directly took the pastry in her mouth and flew up.
"I’m leaving first. Next time we meet, I’ll invite you to see flowers again."
After flying into the group of Shaymin, she shared the food with her companions.
One pastry directly conquered the taste buds of every Shaymin there.
Carrying happy emotions, they flew towards the next place that needed flowers to bloom.
Julian and Cynthia walked out of the restaurant and waved at Shaymin.
"Shaymin, see you next time!"
Shaymin came back to herself and circled once around Julian and Cynthia.
That seemed to mean that next time, she would make another flower ring for them.
After breakfast, Julian rode Miraidon and brought Cynthia back to Veilstone City.
Since they had come to Veilstone City, how could they not eat at Uncle Saiba’s restaurant?
On the way, the two passed that pottery studio, and Julian felt a little nostalgic.
"Cassia, do you remember this pottery shop?"
Before, he had not understood why Cassia had made Garchomp.
Now he knew.
Cynthia nodded, thinking of the Garchomp she had made last time.
Julian asked tentatively, "How about we go in and make two Pokémon pottery pieces again?"
Cynthia thought about it, then decided to wash away her previous shame.
There was no such word as giving up in her dictionary.
"Sure."
The two walked into the pottery shop and bought two tickets from the owner.
The owner still had some impression of Julian and Cynthia.
That quiet, beautiful girl had produced such an indescribable pottery piece.
Generally speaking, even if someone had no talent, the pottery they made could only be called ugly.
But this girl...
It could not be said that she had no talent in that area. It could only be said that Cynthia’s pottery talent had been allocated to a very strange branch.
Cynthia clenched her fist.
This time, she would take back what she had lost!
Cynthia picked up a lump of clay and began shaping it seriously.
Julian raised an eyebrow.
"Are you planning to make Garchomp again this time?"
Cynthia nodded.
"Of course. You have to get up where you fell."
Julian also picked up a lump of clay. After mentally going through his Pokémon, he decided to make a Hisuian Goodra.
Because Goodra was cute.
Under Julian’s nimble hands, the clay soon took the shape of Hisuian Goodra.
Cynthia raised her head, preparing to relax a little, and saw Julian’s work.
Then she lowered her head again and looked at the Ditto in her hands.
Wasn’t this gap a little too large?
Julian did not offer to help.
Cynthia wanted to prove herself. If he offered help now, it would be disrespecting her effort.
He could only take out another lump of clay, divide it into two, and begin making Eevee.
The Garchomp in Cynthia’s hands had finally started to look vaguely humanoid.
When she looked up, she saw two adorably clumsy Eevee playing together.
Wait!
How has he finished two more?
Cynthia lowered her head again and focused on handling Garchomp’s details.
Julian could only continue taking clay and start making Miraidon.
Miraidon had so many different forms, so Julian could keep making them for quite a while.
One lifelike Miraidon after another was born under Julian’s hands.
Cynthia clapped her hands.
"Done!"
Not easy.
This time, the Garchomp she made finally had no problems.
Julian looked over.
This Garchomp really did look fine.
"Very good."
Cynthia smiled slightly.
"Let’s give them to the owner for firing. We’ll come back to pick them up after lunch. I’m going to let... Kale know that I’m not untalented at pottery!"
Damn Caitlin.
After seeing that vaguely humanoid Garchomp at Veilstone Gym last time, she had secretly laughed at her who knew how many times.
Cynthia then looked over and saw Julian holding a huge tray filled with the works he had made.
"In the time it took me to make one Garchomp, you made all those?"
Julian smiled and said, "I often make pastries, so I’m more familiar with shaping things. Cassia, you just haven’t had much contact with this kind of work."
Cynthia sighed.
She had no talent for pottery, and Garchomp’s progress with Brutal Swing had not been going smoothly either. Could the two be connected somehow?
Once she returned to Celestic Town, should she play with clay more often?
Maybe then Garchomp would learn Brutal Swing?
She might as well try.
There was nothing to lose!
After leaving the pottery behind, the two went to Uncle Saiba’s restaurant.
"Julian, Cassia, it’s been a long time since I saw you two come here to eat."
Julian smiled and said, "Aren’t we here now? Uncle, you’ll have to bring out your best signature dishes to treat us!"
