First I want to thank everyone for the well wishes. I’m feeling much better now.

Secondly, there will no longer be bonus Chapters available for this story. I feel like this story is quite mature now. Also, as I start more stories, I’ve found myself struggling to keep up with posting 70+ Chapters a week over everything.

I really appreciate all the support you guys give to the story and I want to be able to continue giving you high quality translations! It’s just that, I read and edit every single Chapter which takes up quite a bit of time.

Julian nodded in relief.

"Good. You didn’t let your youth down. Keep working hard in the future. Don’t slack off!"

Kai pumped his arm hard.

"Yes, Master! Corphish and I will work hard together and master Crabhammer as soon as possible!"

Julian smiled slightly.

"Don’t rush. Once we go back, I’ll help you guide Corphish. I’m sure it’ll master it soon."

If it were Gligar trying to learn Crabhammer, that might be difficult.

But Corphish?

Julian believed there would not be much of a problem.

"For now, let’s go back and eat. After that, I’ll teach you how to prepare Corphish’s Pokémon food."

The Great Marsh really was excellent. Many kinds of Berries could be grown here.

He had never expected a human to possess this level of strength and stamina.

A human had actually worn him down.

Corphish accepted it and voluntarily chose to become Kai’s Pokémon.

After hearing Kai’s experience, Octavius blinked.

"Kid, your stamina might be better than Machoke’s."

Kai laughed sheepishly and shook his head.

"I still need to keep training. I’m not as good as Machoke yet."

Now he was even being modest!

The more Octavius looked at Julian’s apprentice, the more he liked him.

"Once you finish your apprenticeship under Julian, are you interested in working at the Safari Zone? Here, you can wrestle Pokémon to your heart’s content."

Kai smiled and shook his head.

"It’ll still take many years before I finish my apprenticeship. And even then, I want to stay by Master’s side."

"Master can’t look after Veilstone Gym alone. How could I leave?"

Octavius nodded.

"Alright. You’re a loyal kid too. Come to the Safari Zone to catch Pokémon whenever you have time."

"We don’t have much else here, but we do have plenty of Pokémon."

Kai nodded.

"I’ll definitely come. The Pokémon in the Safari Zone really are full of energy. They’re perfect for burning youth with me!"

Octavius shook his head.

He did not understand all this talk about burning youth.

But this silly kid’s physical ability really was excellent.

If he came to work at the Safari Zone, all the heavy labour could be left to him.

It was not that Machoke or Machamp could not do it.

It was just that some jobs were not suitable for Pokémon to handle.

After lunch, Julian brought Kai around the Safari Zone to collect Berries. At the same time, he asked the Croagunk group to help collect poisonous mushrooms.

He gave them food in advance as payment.

Toxicroak stood beside him, so the Croagunk group did not dare refuse anything related to him.

After returning, Julian told Octavius about the value of the poisonous mushrooms.

"They may need you to go over and take charge."

"Troublesome. I’ll go take a look first."

Julian raised an eyebrow.

"If that little girl followed that path, wouldn’t she end up heading this way?"

Octavius nodded.

"In theory, yes. But there are quite a few relatively aggressive Pokémon along the way."

"If they mistake her for a Trainer coming to catch Pokémon, she won’t have a good time."

Julian released Miraidon.

"I’ll fly from this side towards the resort and help you search. A little girl shouldn’t be able to get too far."

They had originally been about ready to say goodbye and leave, but unexpectedly, this happened.

Julian rode Miraidon through the sky and released his Aura to search for a human presence.

Unexpectedly, he sensed the little girl’s Aura in a river.

The little girl was drifting downstream, rising and sinking with the current.

Julian immediately had Miraidon accelerate.

Halfway there, Julian finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The Pokémon in the river had acted. At the very least, they had pushed the little girl’s head above the water.

Miraidon flew over the river as quickly as possible and slowed down once he approached the girl.

The little girl’s eyes widened.

"Piplup, look! It’s an angel!"

Piplup had no time to look.

He was desperately flapping his wings to keep both of them from sinking again.

Julian reached out and scooped both the little girl and Piplup up together.

Long blue hair.

Bright, sparkling eyes.

"Little one, don’t play by the river alone in the future."

The little girl hugged Piplup and shouted excitedly, "Angel, my name is Akari! Thank you for saving me!"

Akari?

Julian looked at her more carefully.

The little girl did indeed have the standard Sinnoh protagonist face.
