Chapter 231: Hot-Tempered Big Sis Froslass (Power Stone Milestone Extra Chapter)

The video continued playing.

Sinnoh region, Northern Mt. Coronet, Icefield Ruins.

The moment Elaria jumped out of the ring, her entire body shivered.

She breathed out a puff of white mist and pulled Hoopa closer into her arms.

Seeing this, Hoopa immediately used its psychic power to create a thin insulating barrier around them.

Only then did Elaria and Lillie finally start warming up again.

"Elaria, look. Champion Cynthia is over there."

Lillie pointed toward a spot not far ahead.

Elaria followed her finger.

Cynthia was crouched beside a collapsed stone pillar with a brush in her hand, carefully clearing away the layer of ice covering its surface.

Garchomp stood behind Cynthia, its tail curled into a semicircle around both her and the pillar.

It was clearly shielding her from the wind.

"Aunt Cynthia!"

Elaria ran toward her with Hoopa in her arms, leaving a trail of uneven footprints across the snow.

Cynthia raised her head.

She froze for a moment before the corners of her lips lifted slightly.

"Elaria? What are you doing all the way out here?"

"Mommy told me to come."

Elaria ran up to Cynthia.

"She said you had the day off and were investigating some ruins, so she told me to come talk to you about making a guest appearance in the movie."

"A movie cameo, huh?"

Cynthia put down her brush, removed her gloves, and reached out to ruffle Elaria’s hair.

"Of course. But you’ll have to wait until I finish the preliminary investigation of these ruins. It should take about another half hour."

"No problem! Elaria can wait!"

Elaria obediently nodded.

Then she curiously leaned over to look at the stone pillar behind Cynthia.

"Aunt Cynthia, what does this pillar say? Elaria can’t read ancient writing."

"It’s a sealing formation."

Cynthia stood up and traced a finger along the carvings on the pillar.

"These ruins were once a ritual site used to seal away a certain Pokémon."

"According to the inscription, that Pokémon was sealed deep beneath this icefield and has been asleep for at least several hundred years."

Elaria blinked.

"A sealed Pokémon? What kind of Pokémon is it?"

Before Cynthia could answer—

Hoopa floated up from Elaria’s head and rubbed its chin with both little hands.

"Let Hoopa analyze this!"

"Based on all these squiggly words carved into the pillar, that Pokémon has to be some huge villain!"

"Otherwise, why would anyone seal it away?"

"Not necessarily."

Cynthia shook her head.

"Ancient seals served many different purposes. Until we’ve read the complete inscription, we can’t jump to conclusions."

Garchomp let out a low rumble beside her in agreement.

"Hoopa has an idea!"

Hoopa rubbed its little hands together.

"Hoopa can just teleport the Pokémon out of the seal!"

"Then Elaria can see with her own eyes whether it’s good or bad!"

"Wait—"

Cynthia was half a beat too late.

Hoopa waved one of its golden rings.

A golden portal immediately appeared in midair.

Then—

A Pokémon slowly floated out through the ring.

Its body was white, as though it had been sculpted from the purest snow.

Its arms were long and slender.

Yet deep within its eyes burned two ghostly blue flames filled with an almost unbelievable amount of resentment.

Froslass.

Elaria blinked.

"So pretty..."

Froslass slowly looked around at its surroundings.

Then it let out a long string of extremely complicated cries.

Hoopa immediately flew in front of it to translate.

"Meru——Meru meru!"(Finally, someone’s here! Do you have any idea how long I’ve been locked under this miserable icefield?! Four hundred and seventy-two years and three whole months! I didn’t even have anyone to talk to! If I’d stayed down there any longer, I would’ve learned how to play chess with the icicles!)

[VIP Chat Group]

[Leon]: Good grief, she was sealed for four hundred and seventy-two years?! That’s longer than my grandpa’s grandpa’s grandpa ever lived!

[Raihan]: If your grandpa’s grandpa’s grandpa had lived for more than four hundred years, he’d probably be a museum exhibit by now.

[Leon]: Get lost.

[Flint]: Why does everything this Froslass says sound like it’s overflowing with resentment?

[Volkner]: That’s pretty normal. She was locked away for four hundred and seventy-two years. If I were imprisoned for that long, I’d be even more bitter.

[Flint]: Give it a rest. You wouldn’t even live to two hundred, let alone four hundred and seventy-two.

The video continued playing.

Lillie pulled Elaria behind her before asking,

"Then why were you sealed away? Was it because you did a lot of bad things before?"

Froslass floated in midair and crossed both white arms over her chest.

She immediately launched into another rapid series of cries.

Hoopa cleared its throat and continued translating.

[Froslass]: Meru meru meru! (Before I was sealed away, I was the most popular dancer on this entire icefield! Every year, whenever the village held a festival, I’d go perform for everyone! Then one year, some man in white robes suddenly showed up and sealed me away without even saying anything!)

Cynthia’s expression shifted slightly.

She reached into her bag and pulled out an old, yellowed book.

"Dancing... I feel like I’ve seen something about that before."

She flipped through the pages.

Her finger moved across the ancient writing before stopping beside an illustration.

"Found it."

"Ice Crystal Explosion Dance—a dance that uses high-speed spinning to launch ice crystals outward like blades."

"It was once used as a ritual performance in ancient Sinnoh, but because spectators were frequently injured during performances, it was eventually banned."

The moment Froslass heard the words Ice Crystal Explosion Dance, her entire body visibly stiffened.

Then she slowly lowered her head.

Both arms hung weakly at her sides.

Hoopa’s translation immediately followed.

"Meru..." (That was my greatest masterpiece... They just didn’t understand art...)

"I see..."

After listening, Elaria nodded seriously.

Then she stood up and walked in front of Froslass.

"Froslass, if Elaria helps you regain your freedom, would you be willing to appear in Elaria’s movie?"

Froslass floated in midair and tilted her head at the little girl who wasn’t even as tall as she was.

"Meru?" (What’s a movie? Can I dance in it?)

"Of course you can!"

Elaria pulled a portable projector from her backpack and brought up a video for Froslass.

"Look at this!"

"This is Diancie’s solo dance scene from Light of the Diamond!"

"There were tens of thousands of people in the audience! When she finished, everyone applauded for several whole minutes!"

Froslass stared at the image of Diancie spinning elegantly across the screen.

The ghostly blue light inside her eyes immediately began burning with intense desire.

"Meru meru meru!!"

Hoopa scratched its head.

"Hoopa isn’t going to translate that part."

It turned toward Elaria.

"She says she’s willing!"

Elaria happily nodded.

She took an empty Poké Ball from her waist and held it out toward Froslass with both hands.

"Then Elaria officially invites you to join Elaria’s team!"

"From now on, you can be in charge of choreographing the dances for our movies!"

Froslass decisively reached out with one icy arm and touched the Poké Ball Elaria was holding.

A flash of red light appeared.

The Poké Ball shook three times.
