Chapter 304: Dawn: Hey! I’ve Got an Idea! (Membership Extra Chapter)

[VIP Chat Group]

[Acerola]: The daughters’ winning streak continues! Hina took the championship, so the moms are officially on a five-loss streak now!

[Valerie]: Rather than saying the moms lost, I’d say they won. Now they can openly dump all their work onto their daughters and go on honeymoon trips with Asher.

[Misty]: Hey, hey, hey! Don’t jump to conclusions like that! When I lost to Raina the first time, I was genuinely pretty upset, okay?

[Elesa]: Exactly! Miori and I took our battle seriously too. How did that somehow turn into us deliberately throwing the match?

[Cynthia]: I didn’t hold back either.

[Diantha]: None of us held back. Our daughters were simply too strong. What were we supposed to do?

[Tiana]: Waaaaah... I was still too young back then. If I’d known, I would’ve just lost on purpose. (╥﹏╥)

[Zoey]: But... Dawn shouldn’t have had any reason to hold back. And Hina’s performance really was outstanding. I think she genuinely deserves the title of Top Coordinator.

[May]: Of course! Hina grew up in a Day Care. She’s spent more time observing Pokémon than people, so her understanding of the stage is naturally different from an ordinary Trainer’s.

The scene changed again.

After the Snowpoint City Grand Festival ended, Asher’s family of three returned to Dawsher House.

The moment Hina stepped out of the car—she froze.

A truck with DEVON EXPRESS DELIVERY printed across the side was parked by the road.

Several workers were unloading something from the back.

Steven stood near the entrance, directing them as they moved a life-sized golden statue of Asher.

The entire statue gleamed brilliantly.

It wore sunglasses.

Both hands were tucked into its pockets.

And the corners of its lips carried Asher’s trademark lazy smile.

A line of gilded text was engraved across the base—

FOUNDER OF QUAXMEN — ASHER

On the back of the pedestal was another, smaller inscription:

Presented by Steven Stone. Solid gold. Total weight: 1.8 tons. If you can’t lift it, that’s your problem.

Hina stood there blankly.

She didn’t even notice one strap of her backpack slipping off her shoulder.

"Uncle Steven..."

"What... is that?"

"Oh! Niece Hina! You’re back!"

Steven turned around and wiped nonexistent sweat from his forehead with his sleeve.

"This is the sacred Quaxmen statue I commissioned especially for Brother Asher!"

"So? Impressive, isn’t it?"

"Uh..."

"V-Very..."

"Very impressive..."

Hina desperately wanted to say, Isn’t this way too over-the-top?

But as someone with severe social anxiety, criticizing an elder remained something she could only do inside her own head.

"How did you even get this here?"

Asher stepped out of the car as well.

The moment he saw the statue, the corner of his mouth visibly twitched.

"Air freight!"

"I chartered an entire cargo plane!"

Steven proudly slapped the statue’s arm.

"I had this thing sculpted ages ago! I’ve just been waiting for this glorious day!"

"What glorious day?"

"Niece Hina winning the Grand Festival, obviously!"

Asher fell silent for a moment.

"So what does Hina winning the Grand Festival have to do with erecting a gold statue of me?"

"Brother Asher, you just don’t understand!"

Steven straightened the statue’s sunglasses.

"Niece Hina couldn’t possibly have won without your guidance!"

"Giving a statue to a great contributor is only natural!"

Asher stared at the 1.8-ton golden statue.

Then he looked toward the entrance of his family’s Day Care.

He took a deep breath.

"Steven."

"Where exactly are you planning to put this thing?"

"At the entrance!"

Steven swept one hand outward.

"Where else?"

"Every person who visits Dawsher House should be greeted by Brother Asher’s heroic figure the moment they arrive!"

"My family runs a Day Care."

"If you stick something like this outside, are customers even going to come anymore?"

"Why wouldn’t they?!"

"Look at how imposing it is!"

"Even Pokémon will instinctively feel awe when they see it!"

Just then—

A passing Starly flew overhead.

It landed squarely on Steven’s head.

And promptly pooped on him.

Steven’s face turned green.

"You little bastard!"

"GET BACK HERE!"

Only after Steven chased the Starly into the distance did the commotion finally come to an end.

A few days later—

Once word spread that Hina had returned to town, Twinleaf Town was swept up in a sudden Day Care craze.

After learning that "Princess Hina" and "Master Ducky" both worked at this particular Day Care, Trainers began lining up to leave their Pokémon Eggs there.

One day—Hina carefully placed an Egg onto a rack.

Then she extended one hand.

The Power of Viridian flowed from her palm like water, slowly seeping into every Egg on the shelves.

The Eggs began trembling one after another as though something warm and gentle had awakened them.

Then—

Every Egg began hatching within the same short period.

Hina sat in the center of the incubation room, surrounded by seven or eight newborn Pokémon.

Every single one was trying to crawl into her arms.

If someone from the Pokémon breeding community saw this scene it would be worth at least three S-rank evaluations.

Quaquaval stood in the doorway.

It silently watched the newborn Pokémon scampering all over the room for a few moments.

Then it pulled a small notebook from between its feathers and began writing.

Masquerain floated closer.

"Masque?" (Master, what are you writing?)

Quaquaval didn’t even raise its head.

"Quax." (Quaxmen Juvenile Management Plan. Starting today, these children are Quaxmen reserves.)

"Masque?!" (Master, they were literally just born!)

"Quax." (Education must begin from the Egg. That’s how I raised you.)

Masquerain froze for three seconds.

Then its eyes filled with emotional tears.

"Masqueee!" (Master has gone to such extraordinary lengths for this disciple! This disciple has no way to repay such kindness except to—)

"Quax." (Do not pledge yourself to me. Go boil some water.)𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

"Masque!" (At once!)

Over the following days—

The incubation room was almost never empty.

By the tenth day after Hina’s return, a brand-new sign had appeared outside the Twinleaf Town Day Care.

Johanna had written it herself:

DAWSHER HOUSE · ALL-EGG NURSERY

When Dawn saw the sign, she laughed so hard she nearly doubled over.

"Mom! That name sounds way too ridiculous!"

"The Day Care is practically turning into a kindergarten!"

Johanna folded her arms.

"You might think it sounds ridiculous, but Hina’s business over these past ten days is already almost equal to what we made in the entirety of last year."

"Seriously?"

Dawn immediately turned toward Asher.

Asher was leaning against the doorframe with an account book in his hands.

He casually flipped through a few pages.

"Mm."

"The average spending per customer hasn’t changed, but customer traffic is four times higher than it was during the same period last year."

"And most of them came because of Hina’s Power of Viridian."

"So what do you think, Hubby?"

Dawn rested her chin in one hand.

"I think..."

Asher closed the account book and looked up at the sky.

"Our daughter is better at business than we are."

Hina poked her head out from inside.

A sticker reading GO, DUCKY! was still stuck to her cheek.

"Dad, three more Eggs were added to the Quaxmen reserves today..."

"I need to keep working for a little longer..."

"Go ahead."

Asher waved.

"Just don’t stay too late."

"I’m making your favorite cream stew tonight."

"Mm!"

Hina nodded and ran back into the incubation room.

Dawn watched her daughter’s retreating back.

Then suddenly grabbed Asher’s arm.

"Hubby!"

"I’ve got an idea..."

"You’re thinking we should officially let Hina take over the Day Care, aren’t you?"

Dawn’s eyes widened.

"How did you know?!"

"Because I’m your husband."

Asher reached over and pinched her cheek.

"But don’t rush it."

"Hina’s in a really good place right now."

"Let’s give her a little more time to settle into things first."
