Chapter 308: If You Don’t Put in Some Effort, How Am I Supposed to Get My Granddaughter Sooner? (Membership Extra Chapter)
When the Devon private jet landed at the private airstrip near Asher’s estate, Dawn had already spent a full forty minutes with her face practically glued to the cabin window.
The instant the door opened, she grabbed her backpack and charged down the stairs.
Piplup’s tiny legs moved so fast they were practically throwing sparks.
After struggling desperately to keep up, it finally managed to leap onto Dawn’s shoulder, saving itself from the miserable fate of once again trying to match its stubby legs against her long ones.
At the main entrance of the estate Dawn finally slammed on the brakes.
She looked up at the elegant, tranquil Japanese-style residence and took a deep breath.
Then a very serious question suddenly appeared in her mind.
What should I say first?
"I’m here" was too ordinary.
"Hubby, I’m here!" was way too embarrassing.
And "Hello, everyone" sounded far too distant.
While she was still agonizing over it the front door slid open with a loud clack.
A black-haired figure shot straight outside.
"Mom Dawn!"
Tiana bounded through the doorway in a few quick steps and launched herself straight into Dawn’s arms.
The impact sent Dawn staggering backward.
The two spun around three full circles before finally regaining their balance.
"Hehe! Mom Dawn really is the cutest!"
Tiana happily rubbed her face against Dawn’s chest.
"Um... Tiana."
Only then did Dawn recover enough to loosen her arms around her.
"How did you know I was already at the door?"
"I hadn’t even knocked yet..."
"Because I’m the Master of Time and Space!"
Tiana grabbed Dawn by the wrist and started dragging her inside without giving her any chance to resist.
"Hurry, hurry! Dad and all the moms are waiting for you!"
Dawn hadn’t figured out what to say before.
Now she had even less idea.
The only one who managed to greet everyone naturally was Piplup on her shoulder.
"Piplup, Piplup!"
Misty was the first to walk over and pat Dawn on the shoulder.
"Don’t be nervous. We’ve all been through this."
Elesa lightly bumped Dawn’s shoulder with her elbow.
"You’re already this nervous just meeting everyone. When we have hot pot later, are you going to hold your chopsticks backward?"
"I-I’m not nervous!"
"It’s just really hot today!"
Diantha handed her a chilled bottle of Moomoo Milk.
"Here. Cool yourself down."
Dawn accepted it with a bright-red face.
"Thank you, Miss Diantha!"
Diantha immediately linked arms with her.
"Oh, don’t be so formal."
"Just call me Big Sis~"
Nearby, Cynthia was seriously licking the ice cream in her hand.
When she noticed Dawn looking toward her, she pulled out another one and held it out.
"Want one?"
"N-No, thank you."
Dawn waved her hands.
Then—
Her gaze finally moved toward Asher.
With just that one look the man standing before her completely overlapped with the person who had spent every day by her side within those memories.
"Dawn."
Asher walked toward her wearing that familiar lazy smile.
"Long trip—"
He didn’t even finish his sentence.
Dawn had already instinctively started walking toward him.
Unfortunately—
She wasn’t watching where she was going.
Her foot missed a step.
Her entire body pitched forward.
Both hands shot out instinctively as her face headed straight toward the floor—
Only for a steady arm to wrap around her waist and catch her.
"In that much of a hurry to throw yourself into my arms?"
Asher’s voice came from above her.
Dawn looked up.
Her eyes met his golden ones.
Boom.
Her entire face caught fire.
Then she immediately buried it against Asher’s chest.
Everyone else very tactfully looked away.
The only person in the entire room incapable of reading the atmosphere—
Was Tiana.
She cupped both hands around her face, her mismatched eyes practically glowing.
"Dad! Mom Dawn is already being this proactive! Aren’t you going to kiss her?"
"Tiana."
Cynthia called her name.
"Go wash your dad’s apron."
"Right now? But Dad still needs it later to—"
"Go."
Tiana looked at the two people still hugging.
Then at the other moms, who had all suddenly found very important things elsewhere to look at.
Finally, she sighed.
"Fine."
"There’s no love left in this family anymore."
Before long, everyone began preparing that night’s dinner together to welcome Dawn into the family.

[Johanna]:[Image: Selfie at the estate entrance, with a mountain of cardboard boxes stacked behind her.]
[Johanna]: I’ve arrived. I won’t come in yet, or I’ll interrupt your dinner. These are some daily necessities I brought for Dawn. Call me when you’re finished eating and I’ll move everything inside.
[Dawn]: Mom! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?!
[Johanna]: You two need some private time right now. Mom doesn’t want to disturb the young couple.
[Johanna]: Oh, wait. I suppose I should say the young family of six.
[Asher]: Mom, come inside and eat with us first. We can move everything later.
[Johanna]: No, no. I’ll wait outside. The maple leaves by the entrance are beautiful anyway.
[Misty]: Aunt Johanna, it’s windy outside. Come in.
[Johanna]: All right, then. I’ll come sit for a while.
Thirty seconds later—
Johanna pushed open the estate doors.
At her feet were twenty-three cardboard boxes.
They were neatly stacked in three rows.
Asher walked over and glanced at them.
"Mom..."
"How did you even get all this here?"
"Air freight."
Johanna smiled.
"It’s not that much. I was mostly worried Dawn wouldn’t be used to things after moving here."
Dawn stood nearby, already red all the way down to her neck.
"Mom! I’m living in my own home now! Why wouldn’t I be used to it?!"
Johanna looked at Asher.
Then at the four women sitting inside.
She smiled.
"All right, all right."
"I was a little worried you might have trouble adjusting."
"But judging by things now, it seems I didn’t need to worry."
"I told you I didn’t!"
"Fine, fine. Then I’ll take all this back tomorrow."
Johanna waved a hand.
Then lowered her voice.
"Although there’s one box you’ll definitely need tonight."
"What?"
"This one."
Johanna pulled out a box and handed it over.
"It’s especially good for conditioning the body."
"Perfect for young people who are preparing to have a baby."
Dawn’s face instantly turned scarlet.
"Mom! I don’t need something like that!!!"
"You..."
Johanna planted her hands on her hips.
"I’m doing this for your own good!"
"If you don’t put in some effort, how am I supposed to get my little Hina sooner?!"
"MOM!"
"What? What?"
Tiana suddenly poked her head out from the side.
Her mismatched eyes sparkled with anticipation.
"That stuff is really that amazing?"
"Can I give some to my mom?"
"Tiana!"
Cynthia’s face turned red as well.
"Go back to your room!"
"Children don’t get involved in adult matters!"
Tiana immediately withdrew her head.
"I was just asking..."
"No need to be so fierce..."
After dinner, Johanna didn’t stay for long.
She genuinely had no intention of living there.
She simply said she’d come by every now and then to visit.
And just like that—
Three peaceful days passed.
On the morning of the fourth day, Asher had just finished making breakfast and was preparing to wake his wives and daughter when the familiar System notification sounded once again.
[Ding——!]
