Chapter 315: I Just Want to Be the Big Sister, What Did I Do Wrong?!

The video began playing.

Text appeared on the screen:

[Aurelia and Selene—Day One After Birth.]

Saffron City.

Top-floor VIP ward of the City League Hospital.

The camera swept across a crib.

Two baby girls lay side by side inside.

Both had white newborn hair, and their faces were almost indistinguishable. Even the rise and fall of their breathing was perfectly synchronized.

But on closer inspection, there were still a few differences.

Aurelia’s right eye was gold and her left eye red.

Selene’s were exactly the opposite.

The head nurse observed them while making notes.

"I’ve been doing this job for years, but this is honestly the first time I’ve ever seen twins like these. Even the colors of their eyes are reversed."

A younger nurse leaned closer and lowered her voice.

"Head Nurse, that’s not even the strangest part."

"When I came by to check on them earlier, the one on the left didn’t cry or fuss at all. She just kept staring outside."

"But the one on the right wouldn’t stop crying and making a scene. It was honestly kind of scary!"

"What’s scary about that? Isn’t it perfectly normal for newborn babies to cry?"

"But she— Ah! Head Nurse, look! She’s doing it again!"

The head nurse looked up.

Selene was floating above the crib.

All four limbs pointed toward the ceiling as she cried at full volume, while individual tears drifted upward instead of falling down.

They gathered against the ceiling, forming a small wet patch.

"She was only just born, right?"

The head nurse swallowed.

"Even if she inherited Gym Leader Sabrina’s talent, isn’t awakening this early a little ridiculous?"

"Maybe..."

"That’s just what you call being exceptionally gifted?"

[VIP Chat Group]

[Caitlin]: She can already use psychic power to levitate herself on the very first day of her life? That level of psychic potential really is enviable.

[Lana]: You don’t think the two of them were already communicating telepathically from the moment they were born, do you?

[Mallow]: And Aurelia and Selene inherited heterochromia too! Tiana’s mismatched eyes aren’t an exclusive feature anymore.

[Tiana]: Hmph! I was still the first! And mine are the coolest! (Hands on hips.)

[Elesa]: Isn’t Tiana a little too obsessed with being first? You even have to compete over something like this?

[Tiana]: If a person doesn’t have dreams, what’s the difference between them and a salted fish?! I just want to be the big sister! What did I do wrong?!

[Dawn]: But... isn’t something like that already fixed?

[Tiana]: My fate is mine to make! As long as I help Mom a little more— Ow! Mom, what are you doing?!

[Cynthia]: ...You. Come here!

[Lorelei]: Actually, I’m pretty curious about how Asher and Sabrina get along. With Sabrina’s habit of turning people into dolls whenever she feels like it, I get the feeling he’s going to be under some pretty strict control this episode.

[Steven]: Then you still don’t understand Brother Asher. He may have been a scumbag, but he’s never been bad at the game.

[Valerie]: But I don’t really think Asher counts as a scumbag. In every lifetime, he only ever loves one person.

[Asher]:@Valerie, you’re my true confidante!!

[Misty]: We haven’t even settled the Sabrina situation yet, and you’re already flirting with another girl?! (`Д′)

[Asher]: I only said one sentence! How does that count as flirting...?

[Elesa]: So what you’re saying is that we’re the ones in the wrong?

[Diantha]: Hehe. It sounds like Hubby wants to clear everything up right now~

[Asher]: Wait, hold on! Sabrina is still right here!

[Diantha]: She’s going to be family sooner or later anyway. It doesn’t matter. Come inside with me.

[Sabrina]: ...

The scene changed again.

Saffron Gym.

Top-floor bedroom.

Sabrina leaned against the headboard, holding one swaddled baby in each arm.

Her expression remained as calm as ever.

But if one looked carefully, a soft smile could be seen at the corners of her lips.

Aurelia quietly gazed up at her mother with her mismatched eyes.

Selene, meanwhile, clutched Sabrina’s collar and babbled away in baby talk that no one could understand.

Asher pushed open the door carrying two baby bottles.

"Wifey, are the babies awake?"

Sabrina looked up and answered gently.

"Mm. They just woke up."

Asher walked over to the bed and leaned down to kiss Sabrina on the forehead before lowering his head to play with his two daughters.

Aurelia didn’t react much.

Selene, however, was clearly anything but well-behaved.

She immediately reached out one tiny hand and accurately grabbed a fistful of Asher’s hair.

"Hey, hey, hey!"

"You were just born and you’re already pulling your dad’s hair?"

"Even your mom has never done that."

Selene’s eyes curved into crescents as she giggled, babbling happily.

Sabrina covered her mouth and laughed.

"Selene seems really attached to you."

Seeing Selene continuing to tug on their father’s hair, Aurelia immediately slapped her sister’s hand away.

Then she gently patted the strands Selene had been pulling.

"Wifey, look."

Asher smiled as he picked Aurelia up and gently rocked her.

"Aurelia is still the sensible one. She already knows how to feel sorry for Dad."

Selene immediately became unhappy.

She repeatedly waved both hands toward Asher, babbling loudly in protest.

"All right, all right. I’ll hold both of you."

Asher tucked one daughter under each arm and began walking in circles around the room as though he were carrying two sacks of rice.

"Introducing the Dad-Powered Manual Cradle!"

"Activate!"

The two baby girls were jostled into fits of giggles, their laughter echoing continuously through the room.

Sabrina leaned against the headboard and watched Asher spin around with their daughters tucked beneath his arms like two sacks of rice.

Finally, she couldn’t help letting out a laugh herself.

[VIP Chat Group]

[May]: Whoa! Miss Sabrina looks so pretty when she smiles! (≧?≦)?

[Caitlin]: Sabrina’s smile really is beautiful. I think I’m starting to ship this too.

[Lana]: Miss Sabrina is so cute~ (≧?≦)?

[Bianca]: Miss Sabrina is so cute~ (≧?≦)?

[Sabrina]: ...

[Lt. Surge]: Seriously, what kind of drug did Asher give Sabrina?! He actually managed to melt an iceberg of this level?!

[Steven]: What else could it be? Brother Asher’s personal charm. You can’t learn this kind of thing just by being jealous.

[Koga]: She’s practically a completely different person! For a moment, I genuinely wondered if some Pokémon had possessed Sabrina!

[Brock]: Waaaaah! True love is so touching... The tears of emotion are already running out of the corners of my mouth.

[Max]: That’s drool from jealousy!

The video continued playing.

Some more time seemed to pass.

Aurelia and Selene were now old enough to crawl around on the carpet.

The differences in the two girls’ personalities were already beginning to show through nothing more than the way they crawled.

Aurelia moved slowly.

Before every step, she would first reach out and carefully feel the floor.

Only after confirming there was nothing in the way would she gradually shuffle herself forward.

Selene was the complete opposite.

She was like a white cannonball that had just been fired.

Using all four limbs, she charged recklessly across the floor, her route completely impossible to predict.

Aurelia sat quietly in place, watching her younger sister sweep back and forth across the floor like a white mop.

"Aurelia."

Asher waved to her.

"Come over to Dad. It’s time to eat."

Aurelia turned to look at him.

Then she slowly began crawling over.

Halfway there, she glanced back at Selene, who was still charging wildly around the room, seemingly hesitating over whether she should call her little sister back too.

"Don’t worry about her yet."

Asher picked Aurelia up.

"Let her drain some of her battery first."

"Otherwise, she won’t sleep again tonight."
