Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator
Chapter 1221: Wedge Stone Seal_2
“Guhou!”
Lairon’s roar caught his attention.
Baimu quickly turned his head, and unexpectedly saw Steelix hastily retreating from the massive pit it had just descended into, its body still stained with wet yellow mud.
He asked in surprise, “So soon?”
As his words fell.
A torrent of murky water gushed out from the pit, and numerous wild Pokémon immediately gathered around in joyful celebration.
In the dry and hot Ore Region, water resources are as precious as food.
“It’s flowing! Xiaobai! It’s flowing!” Hoopa’s voice was especially loud.
“Awoo…”
Lycanroc, following suit, looked at Baimu with eyes full of admiration.
From rejection to affection to admiration, wild Pokémon accept humans much faster than anyone could imagine. However, this doesn’t mean their scars are healed.
Baimu marveled as he raised his phone and said to Porygon II inside it, “Amazing, hit it in one go, I thought we’d have to try several places to get water.”
“Guhou~”
Lairon who only moved stones without going down the tunnel was also amazed.
Amazement was followed by joy; over recent days, it and the wild Pokémon had been planting shrubs on the mountain, fully understanding just how difficult it is for plants to survive here.
Thus it hoped even more urgently for its territory to improve.
‘You can always trust Porygon!’
Porygon II was very proud, even feeling a bit overqualified for the job.
It’s just a well, waiting to someday build an artificial lake for the trainer!
The water continued to flow tirelessly; some wild Pokémon chose to stay put, while Baimu led Steelix and other Pokémon to the second planned spot.
At the same time.
Shanren encountered a slight problem over there.
Although he had tried his best to prohibit the workers from spreading news of yesterday’s events, rumors of ghostly occurrences in the old underground city had still spread in a small scope.
Confidentiality skills were woefully lacking…
Shanren was troubled.
Fortunately, mere ghosts were not enough to cause a panic among the Pyrite Town people, who were more curious than afraid. The Ghost-type Pokémon guarding the site even caught a few idle children trying to sneak down.
Compared to the ethereal ghosts, news of the Quicksand Team’s resurgence was far more likely to trigger fear among people.
“I can’t let the rumors spread unchecked, better to directly tell the townsfolk it’s a special Ghost-type Pokémon causing trouble!” He knew that while Pyrite Town people were unafraid, outsiders in commercial zones would surely be scared.
Better to issue an announcement than wait for them to come asking.
Of course.
The entrance to the Spirit Realm needed to be resolved quickly; it couldn’t wait until problems arose during future underground city development.
Shanren recalled that he had promised Baimu he’d ask Furong to help. He decided to pin his hopes on him.
——
Afternoon.
Under Shanren’s expectant gaze, Furong, the Hoenn Four Heavenly King, arrived successfully via the Light Wheel.
“Lady Furong, thank you for visiting Pyrite Town in person, I’d appreciate your efforts on this matter.” He stepped forward with a smile and extended his hand.
Furong, dressed in Southern style, shook hands with him and glanced around, saying, “I’m only helping Baimu, no need for formalities. Hmm… there are indeed many lost children here.”
Baimu?
Shanren looked at Baimu beside him, curious about this nickname.
The latter shrugged, offering no explanation.
As Furong’s gaze fell to the ground, she suddenly exclaimed, “Wow! It’s full! This number—”
“Is it troublesome?”
Shanren quickly asked, worried she might say it was impossible.
Luckily, Furong was a professional Spirit Medium. She suggested, “Let’s go down and take a look. There’s indeed a strange Spirit Realm entrance below. If necessary, I’ll call my grandmother over.”
She reassured the doubtful Shanren, “My grandmother guards God-sending Mountain; there were far more souls there than here, so you can rest assured!”
Thus.
The group arrived at the sealed construction site.
The old underground city wasn’t fully excavated yet. Furong planned to deal with the Spiritomb problem first so the workers could dig deeper.
Everyone donned oxygen-circulating protective gear.
The underground city’s ventilation had long been shut off; over six months, unknown amounts of waste and poisonous gases accumulated, so even people in the Pokémon World would struggle without equipment.
Baimu handed Furong a ceramic pot near the elevator, saying, “It’s holding Spiritomb’s soul…”
“Yoho~”
Suddenly, the tall figure of Dusknoir appeared. It took the pot, tucked it into its belly, and then retrieved an irregular Wedge Stone from it.
Furong said, “My grandmother made this overnight. Once we capture all Spiritomb’s souls and seal them inside, we can use a Pokeball to capture it.”
“Capture, well, I’m really not interested in Spiritomb.”
Baimu had little interest in Pokémon suspected of being humans turned Pokémon, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Furong gave him a surprised look, seemingly not expecting a trainer to be uninterested in powerful Pokémon, casually saying, “You can let someone else raise it. Leaving a wild Spiritomb alone isn’t good, it should be captured or sealed.”
“Alright.”
He didn’t dwell on it, asking, “Is this Spiritomb native to Pyrite Town or did it escape from the Spirit Realm entrance?”
Furong shook her head, “We have to capture it and ask to find out.”
Beside them.
Shanren assigned tasks to the workers.
Having witnessed yesterday’s eerie scenes, many workers were nervous; if they hadn’t heard that Baimu was also going down and had brought a supposedly professional girl, they would’ve quit long ago.
“Baimu, aren’t you nervous?”
A young man named Britto wearing protective gear shivered slightly as he quietly asked Baimu.
Baimu looked at him in surprise, “Nervous about what? Worried we won’t get back? You’re overthinking. Hoopa! Show him your Light Wheel!”
“Coming!”
Hoopa flew forward, cheerfully manipulating two Light Wheels for Baimu to walk between them.
The workers watched this scene in shock.
“Everyone, rest assured. Just do your work down there, you won’t encounter any danger. With me, Hoopa, and Furong Celestial King here, not to mention one Spiritomb, even a hundred Spiritombs won’t be a problem!”
Baimu spoke loudly.
The workers evidently trusted this Rainbow Team leader; coupled with Hoopa’s amazingly magical Light Wheel, their fear and anxiety dissipated.
Seeing this, Shanren quickly promised bonuses once the incident concluded.
Safety and compensation received dual assurance.
For a moment.
The workers all became excited.
Furong glanced enviously at Hoopa, “This Light Wheel is wonderful, it can go anywhere. If only I had a Hoopa too.”
“Heeheehee, Hoopa’s one and only!”
Hoopa boasted proudly.
The group took turns on the elevator, with Baimu and Furong in the first batch, accompanied by Pokémon, several workers, and a few engineering robots.
Furong explored such an unusual environment for the first time, her bright eyes observing around.
Following her gaze, Baimu frequently saw vague white shadows in the narrow elevator corner, with each shape differing.
Suddenly.
Furong spoke, “Da Wu once told me about Pyrite Town’s situation. I did some homework before coming. I didn’t expect… Baimu, for you to emerge from here truly shows your strength.”
She looked at Baimu with sparkling eyes.
Baimu was momentarily stunned, then realized something, “Did you… hear something?”
“They talk all the time, it’s impossible not to hear.”
Furong shrugged, smiling amid other people’s horror-stricken expressions, “Relax, they’re only eager to communicate as they can’t interact with humans, there’s no malice.”
Like how Dragapult hid in the restroom due to the chatter of lost souls, Furong gathered from their narratives a Pyrite Town unimaginable to ordinary people.
