Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator
Chapter 1236: Long He Dreamscape (2)
Long He whispered softly, slowly approaching inside, until he came to a two-tiered iron cage stacked in front of him.
He raised his flashlight to illuminate the inside and suddenly saw a strange doll huddled in the corner, its slight trembling appeared quite eerie.
But Long He smiled.
“I knew you’d be here. It’s me, don’t be afraid.”
He turned off the flashlight, letting the doll, which could see even in the dark, clearly recognize his face.
Soon.
With an exclamation of surprise, the Banette ran out of the cage, trembling as it hugged Long He’s neck.
“Chirp chirp!”
“Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, I knew after you got separated from Lidi and the others, you’d come here looking for me, right?” Long He gently patted its back.
He did not blame the Banette for running around. He knew that for this timid little guy, it was already quite difficult not to have run into the searchers in that situation.
The urgent task was to get out of here.
He looked at the Flygon, about to say something, when the latter suddenly blocked his mouth with its wings and took a few steps back.
Long He quickly looked outside, blinding light shot over.
“Ha, hahaha… Look who I’ve found! You reckless bastard, you still dare to come back!”
A tough guy with a bandage on his head stood there, flanked by two Machamps with dusky gray skin and two fierce Mightyenas.
Pointing at him and the Flygon, he yelled violently, “Kill them for me!”
“Roar!”
“Roar!”
The two Mightyenas and two Machamps rushed in together.
Long He hesitated not a moment, quickly retreating with the trembling Banette, planning to exit from the other side, and simultaneously shouted, “Quicksand Hell!”
“Woo!”
The Flygon, enduring fatigue, flapped its wings, a massive spread of sand seemingly appearing from nowhere, swept over like a tide, splashing towards the advancing Mightyenas and Machamps!
Cries of surprise immediately rang out.
In such a narrow and dark environment, the Quicksand Hell exhibited an extremely outstanding effect, successfully thwarting the assault of the four Pokémon.
The tough guy cursed angrily at the incompetence.
But just as Long He ran to the other end, two youths with Mightyenas suddenly emerged to block his way, their expressions hostile.
For a moment.
The Pokémon on both sides formed a pincer movement against them.
“Hahaha, now you can’t escape, can you? Kneel down and beg for mercy sooner, maybe I’ll spare your life!” The tough guy said about sparing life, his eyes full of malice.
He suddenly shouted, “All of you, attack!”
Long He’s expression turned serious, his back against the Flygon, his gaze sweeping over the surrounding iron cages.
Perhaps he must rely on these things to escape—
Rumble!!
A terrifying explosion sounded once again, the intense tremors blurring the vision of everyone and Pokémon present.
The tough guy and his two lackeys, faces changed rapidly, ran back while staring at the ceiling. They’ve seen rocks collapse and smash people into pulp before, that scene too horrifying to want to witness a second time.
The Pokémon following them also showed expressions of fear; oftentimes, Pokémon are not much more resistant than humans.
Long He, seeing this, gathered his courage.
He knew if a rock were to fall he’d surely die, but staying put meant death as well!
A gamble!
Long He quickly ran towards the two lackeys, shouting, “Dragon Breath!”
“Woo!”
The Flygon, perceiving the Dragon Tamer’s intent, inhaled deeply and spewed indigo flames at the two.
The two lackeys, their full attention on the ceiling, were caught off guard, blasted away by the flames, and fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
Long He seized the opportunity to run past them, not even forgetting to shout to the lackeys’ Pokémon, “If you want, come run with me!”
The two Mightyenas exchanged glances but did not pursue.
Long He didn’t linger, swiftly leaving with the Flygon and Banette. Although he had no idea why there was another explosion, it really helped him a lot!
The tough guy belatedly realized Long He’s escape, angrily shouting, “What are you all standing around for? Chase them!”
The Mightyenas immediately pursued, and the Machamps followed hurriedly.
In the mine shaft.
Long He was desperately fleeing.
The continuous howls from behind sent a shudder through his spine.
The Mightyenas’ noses were too keen; escaping their pursuit seemed nearly impossible, he must think of something…
“Woo!”
A dull grunt interrupted Long He’s thoughts.
He turned his head and saw the Flygon kneeling on the ground, with a fresh wound on its right leg, clearly bitten by Mightyena while using Quicksand Hell earlier.
Long He quickly pulled out the Pokeball to recall it, saying solemnly, “You’ve worked hard, Flygon.”
To make matters worse.
Even the Flygon had almost lost its combat ability, the cards in his hand…
Long He looked down at the Banette and laughed self-deprecatingly. Not to mention that he didn’t understand Ghost Attribute Pokémon at all, the timid Banette couldn’t even stand in front of those Pokémon; how could he talk about fighting?
Indeed.
He still has to think of another solution.
Long He kept running, heading toward the nearest escape point in his memory. As they say, Diglett has many tunnels; for this day, they secretly dug many tunnels leading to the surface, and in case of discovery or accidents, there are alternatives available.
At a certain fork in the road, he suddenly saw some bombs that were pre-buried but now partially exposed, not yet detonated, and a plan quickly formed in his mind.
“Banette.”
Long He placed the Banette on the ground, loaded the bombs into his embrace, then took out three Pokeballs with screws on top and handed them to it, whispering, “In a moment, you follow that route and keep running. I’m responsible for luring them away, using the bombs to trap them, and blocking the path.”
Eliminating the pursuers and blocking the road is currently the only way to escape safely.
At the same time, it ensures that the escape route remains undiscovered. Without some work, even if the mine tunnel is blown up, it’s easy to be chased down.
Some Pokémon dig tunnels much better than humans. Recklessly using a tunnel to leave easily brings pursuers and causes trouble for Lidi and the others.
And the only uncertainty at the moment is that he doesn’t know the effect of the explosives, nor what happens when ignited detonations occur—
Originally thought the power wouldn’t be too strong, but looking at the mine’s terrible state, he dared not make a guarantee.
“Chupye…”
The Banette held the three Pokeballs, looking at him with great concern.
Long He smiled gently, stroking its face with his right hand, “Don’t worry, you wait for me ahead. We’ll definitely get out, remember what I told you?
“Once we’re out, I’ll take you back to my hometown, a place called Meteor Village, you’ll surely love it there. The kids there will definitely like you, you won’t be lonely anymore. Then someday, we’ll travel together! Everyone together!”
“Chupye—”
“Alright! Go! Go wait for me at the escape exit! I promise I’ll be there!”
Long He forcefully pushed the Banette, which held onto the Pokeballs, looking back at him with every step.
As the barking approached, Long He quickly ran toward another passage, shouting as he ran, “If you have the guts, come and chase me!”
He quickly dismantled the flashlight, using the components inside to make a simple ignition device.
This was prepared in advance, everyone worried that remote detonations might fail or some extreme situations might arise, thus they found a way to obtain a batch of flashlights with components that could easily ignite.
Didn’t expect they really came in handy!
Long He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
The barking behind grew closer and closer, he listened carefully for a moment to estimate the distance, then decisively lit a bomb and threw it on the ground, quickly running forward.
A few seconds later.
He suddenly lunged forward!
Boom!!
The deafening explosion echoed in the mine tunnel, amidst the rolling smoke and dust came a lot of screams.
The power is really great!
Covered in dust, Long He got up, saying nothing as he continued to run forward, planning to loop back to the fork in the road from earlier.
Yet he never expected that after finally dealing with the Pokémon and pursuers chasing him, the sound of the explosion attracted another group of people.
“Hey! You over there! Are you a miner?”
The other party shined a glaring light, opening with an accusatory tone.
Long He’s heart stirred, just about to reply when a shrill voice shouted from behind, “Don’t trust him! The explosion is his doing!”
Not good!
His expression turned solemn.
The newcomers unhesitatingly ordered the nearby Magmar to attack, “Jet Flame!”
“Brrr!”
Blazing flames roared forth, nearly engulfing the entire mine tunnel.
With no place to hide, despair filled Long He’s heart—
“Chupye!”
A Shadow Ball flew from the other side, colliding with the flames and causing them to explode before reaching Long He, the shockwave sending him flying.
“Why did you come back!”
Long He quickly got up, saw his helper was indeed the Banette.
But now was not the time for other words, especially after just narrowly escaping death, he swiftly picked up the Banette and rushed toward the escape exit, another shout came from behind.
“Sharp Stone Attack!”
Swoosh swoosh swoosh!
The sound of something tearing through the air approached.
Long He’s waist felt a sharp pain, he muffled a grunt but dared not pause, continuing to run forward.
