Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon
Chapter 143: Giving Diantha a Little Legendary Shock
Chapter 143: Chapter 143: Giving Diantha a Little Legendary Shock
"Ahem!"
Seeing the two women fall silent while a faint smell of gunpowder seemed to spread through the air, Sora hurriedly stepped in.
"How about this?"
"Diantha and Big Sis Cynthia, neither of you has much free time."
"Meanwhile, I’ll be traveling around Galar for a month and a half."
He quickly outlined his plan.
The journey would be split into three stages.
For the first half month, he’d travel with Diantha, visiting the cities where she was filming while challenging local Gyms and sightseeing.
For the middle half month, he would head alone to the village beneath the Crown Shrine.
There, he intended to prepare for summoning the King of Bountiful Harvests.
If everything went according to plan...
If he successfully awakened Calyrex and managed to gain its recognition...
Then he would contact Cynthia and invite her over to help record the ancient history of Galar.
This would also prevent too many people from approaching Calyrex and potentially interfering with Sora’s plans.
Even though he trusted both Diantha and Cynthia not to deliberately sabotage his attempt to befriend Calyrex...
Trust was trust.
Caution was caution.
On this matter alone, Sora remained exceptionally careful.
His trip to the Crown Shrine village would be undertaken entirely alone.
No companions.
No exceptions.
"I’ve discovered a very ancient legend in Galar."
"But whether it’s genuine or not still requires investigation."
Sora explained to Cynthia.
"I’ll go search for the ruins first."
"If I determine that the legend is real, I’ll contact you."
"Then we can explore it together and investigate the historical clues."
After giving it serious thought, he felt this arrangement was the best compromise for everyone.
"Alright."
"Works for me."
Diantha and Cynthia exchanged a glance through the screen.
Both women made small concessions.
"In that case, I won’t interrupt your little two-person world anymore."
Having successfully secured her invitation, Cynthia casually teased Diantha before immediately ending the call.
She didn’t even give Diantha a chance to retaliate.
Her objectives had been simple.
Inform Sora about Kitakami.
Invite him to travel together.
And tease Diantha a little.
Mission accomplished.
Cynthia was thoroughly satisfied.
"Big Sis Cynthia really has a mischievous side."
Sora put away his communicator and laughed helplessly.
"She knew I’d already agreed to travel with you, yet she still barged in anyway."
"Cynthia has always been rather domineering."
Diantha knew Cynthia.
They weren’t particularly close, but they had met several times.
The two had even battled each other in international tournaments and fully acknowledged one another’s abilities.
Still...
Compared to the cool and imposing Cynthia, Diantha’s mature appearance concealed a surprisingly gentle personality.
As a result, she usually ended up being slightly outmatched whenever they interacted.
Bzzzz—
Just as the two prepared to continue their previous conversation, the communicator vibrated once more.
"Sorry."
Sora glanced at the caller ID.
The instant he saw it, his expression changed dramatically.
He answered immediately.
"What happened?"
Seeing him react so strongly, Diantha knew something serious had occurred.
"It’s Lopunny."
"She says the egg is about to hatch and wants me back immediately."
"A Pokémon Egg?!"
Diantha instantly understood the importance.
This was no small matter.
Newborn Pokémon often formed a special bond with the first living being they saw.
That individual would frequently become the one they trusted most.
"Please excuse me."
Sora was about to rush off when something occurred to him.
The Pokémon inside the Egg was Ralts.
He immediately grabbed Diantha’s hand.
"The Pokémon that’s about to hatch is a Ralts."
"Do you know how to properly handle this situation?"
"Of course!"
Diantha didn’t even notice the intimate gesture.
Instead, she immediately followed Sora toward his cabin.
When they opened the door, they found Lilligant carefully cradling the Egg.
The shell was glowing softly.
The light flickered rhythmically, bright and dim in alternating pulses.
"Those are signs of imminent hatching."
Diantha quickly assessed the situation.
"At this rate, it’ll hatch within five minutes."
She then instructed Sora to take the Egg into a separate room and remain alone with it.
That way, the newborn Ralts would naturally regard him as family.
For Trainers, that first impression was incredibly important.
"I understand."
Thanking Diantha for the advice, Sora carefully accepted the Egg from Lilligant and hurried into a private room.
"Lilli~"
Lilligant watched the door close.
Only then did she finally have time to properly examine the beautiful young woman who had accompanied Sora back.
"Oh my, how adorable."
Diantha smiled.
"The color of your flower petals is wonderful."
"Mr. Sora has taken excellent care of you."
With just a glance, Diantha had already roughly estimated Lilligant’s condition.
Her level was high.
Comparable to the main battlers used by many Elite Four members—around Level 70.
As for her physical and mental state...
The coloration of her petals and blossoms revealed everything.
Without question, Sora’s Lilligant had been raised exceptionally well.
Even top-tier Pokémon breeders would have struggled to do better.
"Lilli~"
Lilligant felt that Diantha looked strangely familiar.
She lifted a leaf-like hand to her mouth, trying to remember where she’d seen her before.
"Eh?!"
Suddenly, an enormous head emerged from one of the nearby rooms.
It locked eyes with Diantha.
Then spoke.
"Aren’t you that woman from television?"
"Ah?!"
Diantha nearly jumped.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?!"
Fortunately, she knew she was inside Sora’s cabin.
Any Pokémon here had to belong to him.
Still...
As she carefully examined Volcanion, she came up empty.
Just like with Ogerpon.
No records.
No matches.
No clues.
"Wait!"
Then realization struck.
Her eyes widened.
"Did..."
"Did you just speak?"
"Hmph."
Volcanion snorted.
"I thought you’d be surprised about something important."
"Turns out it was only that."
Only that?!
Diantha felt her worldview shaking.
A talking Pokémon wasn’t a minor detail!
"Vini?"
Hearing the commotion, Victini squeezed through the gap between Volcanion and the doorway.
"Eh?"
And thus, for the third time today...
Diantha froze.
"A-another one?"
Unlike Ogerpon and Volcanion, however...
This time she felt something familiar.
"Hm..."
She stared at the tiny Pokémon.
"Why does this one seem familiar?"
Her memory quickly connected the dots.
Earlier, she and Sora had discussed one of her films.
A movie involving the legend of Eindoak.
And within that story...
There had been a Pokémon remarkably similar to the little creature now floating before her.
Diantha’s pupils contracted.
"No way..."
"Victini?!"
Disbelief filled her voice.
Yet the more she looked...
The more certain she became.
The tiny Pokémon before her was identical to the legendary Victory Pokémon of myth.
The Victory Star—Victini.
