Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon
Chapter 145: Diantha’s Pride as a Fluffy Pokémon Enthusiast
Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Diantha’s Pride as a Fluffy Pokémon Enthusiast
Just what kind of Pokémon is this?
She had recognized Magearna.
She had recognized Victini.
But when it came to Volcanion, Diantha once again found herself in unfamiliar territory.
This Pokémon is definitely a legendary existence.
Once she reached that conclusion, Diantha couldn’t help drawing in a sharp breath.
Including this unknown Pokémon, doesn’t that mean Mr. Sora possesses four Legendary Pokémon?
The thought left even the Champion of Kalos astonished by Sora’s strength.
You could argue that not every Legendary Pokémon was necessarily powerful.
To that, Diantha could only respond:
Ha.
Sure, not every Legendary was strong.
But Ogerpon, Magearna, and Volcanion?
Not a single one of them was weak.
Judging solely from the aura each of them radiated, the only Pokémon on Diantha’s team capable of standing against them were her two aces: Goodra and Gardevoir.
Three Champion-level Pokémon...
For the first time, Diantha felt the weight of her Kalos Champion title.
If Sora challenged her...
Would she even be able to defend it?
Not that Diantha was particularly attached to being Champion.
Honestly, losing the title would free her to devote herself completely to acting.
But getting defeated...
At least let me lose gracefully, okay?!
Her standards weren’t high.
If Sora could promise her that much, she wouldn’t mind stepping aside and handing over the throne.
"Thank you so much, Diantha."
"My Gardevoir was raised from a Ralts too, so I have some experience."
As she spoke, Diantha released her Gardevoir.
The Psychic Queen had only just appeared when Sora’s Pokémon immediately focused their attention on her.
Likewise, Gardevoir’s gaze swept over Ogerpon and the others.
So strong!
Her pupils contracted.
Instinctively, she moved a little closer to Diantha, prepared to protect her Trainer at a moment’s notice.
"Your Gardevoir and you seem very close."
"She’s family."
Diantha smiled.
"We grew up together."
She gently reassured Gardevoir not to worry.
At the same time, she asked her to stay by Sora’s side for the next few days and help care for the newborn Ralts.
"Would that be alright?"
Having Gardevoir around would solve many problems.
Pokémon matured quickly.
The first few days after birth were the most delicate period.
Once Ralts adapted to her surroundings, things would become much easier.
"Leave it to my Gardevoir."
Diantha sounded completely confident.
"She has plenty of experience taking care of young Ralts."
"Gardevoir~~"
Gardevoir shot her Trainer a helpless look.
Dumping all the work onto her while standing there smiling really was convenient, wasn’t it?
Still, she accepted the task.
After all...
Gardevoir truly adored children of her own species.
"Then I’ll be counting on you, Gardevoir."
Sora remembered that members of the Gardevoir line could sense one another’s hearts.
Ralts might be afraid of unfamiliar Pokémon.
But she would never fear a fellow member of her evolutionary family.
Those red horns atop her head were the bridge connecting their hearts.
"Right, let me introduce everyone."
Next, Sora introduced each of his Pokémon one by one.
Truthfully, aside from Buneary and Lilligant, every Pokémon on Sora’s team was exceptionally rare.
Aurorus’s pre-evolution, Amaura, was a fossil Pokémon.
Its species had gone extinct hundreds of millions of years ago.
Most surviving individuals today had only been recovered from ancient ice.
Only once fossil restoration technology matured further would Pokémon like Amaura truly become accessible to ordinary Trainers.
As things stood now...
Encountering an Amaura was extraordinarily rare.
A genuine treasure-level Pokémon.
"Vui~~"
"And this is Sylveon."
The moment Sora finished introducing her, Sylveon leapt into his arms and immediately began acting spoiled.
"This Eeveelution must be quite rare, right?"
Diantha knew about Sylveon.
However, she wasn’t entirely sure how one evolved.
Furthermore, Sylveon currently existed only in Kalos.
Thanks to the lingering influence of Xerneas’s Fairy Aura, Eevee in Kalos could more easily sense Fairy-type energy and evolve into Sylveon.
Even so, Sylveon remained incredibly uncommon.
Only a handful of Trainers across Kalos possessed one.
The Azoth royal family happened to be among them.
"So cute."
Diantha also wanted to hug Sylveon.
Unfortunately, Sora’s Pokémon were all absurdly attached to him.
None of them showed much interest in strangers.
As always—
They liked Sora, not humans in general.
Unless Diantha earned their recognition, they wouldn’t casually accept her affection.
"Ah... what a shame..."
Watching Sylveon hop out of Sora’s arms and walk away, Diantha looked genuinely disappointed.
"My kids really have been spoiled by me."
Sora felt Sylveon could at least sacrifice a little charm here.
After all, Diantha was letting Gardevoir take care of Ralts.
Shouldn’t there be some reciprocity?
You couldn’t just accept favors without giving anything back, Sylveon!
"Nope, Mr. Sora."
Diantha crossed her arms into an X and made a playful "Nope!" gesture.
"I want to get close to these children."
"So I need to earn it through my own efforts."
"Being forced into contact doesn’t bring true satisfaction!"
Diantha had her own pride.
She wanted to build genuine friendships with Sylveon and the others.
"Just watch!"
She declared confidently.
"I’ll earn everyone’s approval!"
"Uh..."
Sora scratched his head.
He didn’t really understand, but he respected her determination.
And so, he watched as Diantha began approaching each Pokémon one after another, doing her best to become their friend.
The sight was honestly rather amusing.
Sylveon was a complete tsundere.
Every time Diantha approached, she’d immediately turn around and leave, refusing to give her an opening.
Amaura was more cautious.
When Diantha got too close, the little dinosaur startled so badly she almost fired off an Icy Wind.
Meanwhile, Ogerpon, Victini, and Magearna got along fairly well with her.
Victini needed no explanation.
She was a social monster.
Especially after receiving Sora’s permission.
The little Mythical promptly devoured every piece of candy and every sweet Diantha had brought with her.
Her philosophy was simple:
If it’s free, don’t let it go to waste.
Magearna, meanwhile, was gentle and polite.
Her interactions with Diantha were courteous and pleasant.
Yet Diantha could tell.
This child wasn’t particularly interested in getting close to outsiders.
Not because she was wary.
Simply because Magearna’s world was very small.
Being with Sora and his Pokémon family was already enough to make her happy.
She had no desire to form many more connections beyond that.
