Chapter 460: New Mount, Hai Giant Shark

Shen He sat cross-legged on the floor, watching the little female’s tear-filled eyes. Her nose twitched, her expression a mixture of wanting to cry but not knowing if she was allowed.

The floor of the bedchamber was cold.

Yu Zhizhi didn’t want to lose her composure. She turned to the side, picked up the white mask from the floor with both hands, and put it back on her face.

But the tears wouldn’t stop.

Too many emotions burst forth at that moment.

It was the Duke’s wedding, the failure of her mission, the journey home that seemed impossibly far away.

Ever since coming to this world, she had never been able to decide anything for herself. The safety and stability she yearned for, perhaps, could only be found in her dreams.

Yu Zhizhi sat on the floor, her hands pressed to her mask, her cheeks soaked underneath.

Shen He was more patient than ever before.

He said nothing more, waiting until the little female’s trembling shoulders gradually stilled. Yu Zhizhi kept her head down in silence. In the corner of her eye, she saw the Big Shark’s black combat boots. Her eyes were sore and swollen, but her mood had improved slightly, though a sense of oppression still lingered.

In Shen He’s eyes, the little female’s heartbroken state was just like anyone else he’d seen who was “lovesick.”

‘To be so distraught over a relationship is rather laughable. If it were anyone else, I wouldn’t even spare them a second glance. But this little female before me is different.’

Shen He suddenly swept her into his arms. Before Yu Zhizhi could even react, the black-clad figure had already flashed out of the bedchamber.

The wind howled past her ears.

Yu Zhizhi curled up in the Big Shark’s embrace. He was moving incredibly fast. The wind tore at the long hair by her ears, and she could feel its force against her cheeks.

She closed her eyes. In that moment, her heart pounded in her chest.

‘Where is the Big Shark taking me?’

The scent of the sea breeze grew stronger.

Night had fallen on Silan City, its lights twinkling like stars. In the distance, the sound of music and dancing from the banquet could still be heard.

Shen He landed on top of a lighthouse by the sea.

He set the little female down from his arms.

Yu Zhizhi stepped cautiously onto the stone platform. It was very high up; she could see the many buildings of Silan City behind her, and the lights below traced the coastline, outlining a mysterious and beautiful silhouette.

She huddled against the Big Shark.

“Lord Shen He…?”

Yu Zhizhi’s eyes were filled with confusion.

‘Why did he bring me to the seaside?’

Standing up so high and looking out at the vast coastline, the heavy feeling in her chest seemed to ease.

Shen He’s gray eyes fell upon the little female’s white mask. “Want to play in the water?”

‘I remember she likes the sea. She once laughed so happily on the back of a Tiger Whale Warrior.’

The rabbit ears on Yu Zhizhi’s head twitched slightly. A flicker of anticipation rose in her heart. “…Mhm!”

When Lord Shen He asked that question, she immediately thought of her time on the ship, and of that young Tiger Whale.

‘But… he shouldn’t be here, right?’

Yu Zhizhi couldn’t help but look around, but she didn’t see the familiar figure.

Shen He seemed to know what she was thinking.

He grabbed the little female’s wrist and leaped down with her.

By the sea in Silan City at night, some people heard a splash coming from near the reefs.

A few of them looked over and saw a gray shadow appear in the sea, sending a spray of water shooting out to both sides. At almost the same instant, a powerful aura made every male Beastman on the shore tremble like never before!

“Is that…”

They watched the figure that had entered the sea. A Great White Shark’s dorsal fin flashed past!

“Shouldn’t he be at the banquet? Why is he here? Has war broken out on the front lines?”

The crowd stared at the calm sea in the distance, but they heard no warning whistles of an enemy attack.

All of Silan City was as it always was, with sounds of peaceful celebration drifting from the distant banquet.

The Duke’s wedding was about to take place, so security was extremely tight, and everything was proceeding according to plan.

Under normal circumstances, male Beastmen rarely revealed their Beast Form.

They stared ahead and saw the massive, grayish-white shark suddenly leap from the sea. And on its back, there seemed to be a petite figure!

Even at night, many of the Beastmen caught a glimpse of the fleeting image: a female of the Rabbit Clan was actually sitting on the back of the giant white shark!

Buli had also come to the shore. He stared at the giant shark in the distance, his face a mask of shock—

He never would have imagined that Lord Shen He would one day do something like this. No one had ever been able to get close to his complete Beast Form, let alone ride on his back!

“Okay.”

‘I’ve already decided to face it. I won’t back down now.’

“Lord Shen He, the sun will always rise as usual, right?” Yu Zhizhi asked earnestly, her round rabbit eyes wide.

The Great White Shark’s gray eyes glanced back. “Of course.”

He added without a shred of doubt, “All wounds will heal.”
