Pregnant Bunny, Obsessed Beast Husbands
Chapter 464 - 463: The Snake Clan’s Prophecy
"...A prophecy?"
Yu Zhizhi thought of the young man from the Cat Clan in the Divine Hall Alliance. The Land of Prophecy where he lived also seemed to have some connection to the Snake Clan.
He and the Duke were acquainted.
"Lady Sophia, the Duke’s mother, came from the Land of Prophecy. She also possessed the talent of foresight."
For someone of a Hai Giant Shark’s status, this was no secret.
Noel had no intention of hiding it from Buli.
He said bluntly, "No one knows the specific details. It’s just a rumor that has spread from the Snake Clan—that on the eve of a world-ending disaster, the cultivation of the clan’s strongest bloodline will require a female from the Snake Clan."
Yu Zhizhi was a little stunned.
She had heard about the late Lady Sophia and knew she was an exceptional Prophet.
But she had never heard of this prophecy.
Buli’s steps faltered slightly. Lord Shen He had also heard whispers of this matter.
But just as Noel said, no one could state the contents of the prophecy with complete accuracy. They only knew the general idea.
It was even possible that the Duke himself didn’t know the details.
No one could say for sure when or where such rumors had started to circulate.
The only thing that was certain, however, was that Lady Sophia had once seen a vision of the future.
So...
Yu Zhizhi recalled the Duke telling her long ago that his future wife could only be a female from the Snake Clan.
’Is it because of the prophecy?’
’Then, with Miss Jin She’s murder... was it someone who didn’t want the prophecy to come true?’
’Or someone who did...?’
"We’re almost there, Ms. Zhi Zhi. Please watch your step," Buli reminded her.
The warship from Sun Ridge was moored next to the reef. The path here was rather rugged, and a moment of carelessness could lead to a fall.
Yu Zhizhi and Noel boarded the ship together.
For the moment, she pushed all thoughts of Silan City to the back of her mind.
Her main concern right now was the Little Octopus.
Ever since Yu Zhizhi had come ashore, the Little Octopus had been waiting alone at the bottom of its pool. It was so bored that it just kept blowing bubbles.
GLUG GLUG GLUG...
It heard footsteps.
The Little Octopus hid its body in the water, holding its breath and watching the two approaching figures.
This scent—
’It seems to be that black rabbit I met at the Duke Mansion.’
Yu Zhizhi walked quickly to the edge of the pool. In the dark room, she saw a huge figure hiding in the water and said cheerfully, "Noel is here. Let him take a look at you~"
The Little Octopus knew that Noel of the Rabbit Clan was the continent’s strongest Healer.
It was very dissatisfied with its current state.
’If only there was a way to purify this corruption.’
If this "mutation" continued, it felt like it would one day turn into something else entirely.
A ripple disturbed the surface of the pool.
The Little Octopus extended a tentacle, resting it on the edge of the pool.
The black-furred rabbit youth looked at the octopus in the water.
He lightly touched the spot between his eyebrows with his index finger. A faint white light enveloped the space, and when he opened his eyes again, his black pupils had turned white. Yu Zhizhi stood to the side, watching in a daze. These were the "Holy Eyes" of a Healer she had read about in books.
All sorts of ailments that could only be detected with spiritual power were laid bare before a pair of Holy Eyes.
Cultivating the Holy Eyes was extremely difficult; only two Healers on the entire planet possessed them.
And Noel had cultivated his Holy Eyes at the age of seven.
"Sun Ridge." The black-furred rabbit youth had become quite interested in this region over the past two years. He had secretly found some reference subjects, but none could compare to the octopus before him.
What he hadn’t expected was that the octopus’s mutation wasn’t just due to the pollution from Sun Ridge. Its skeletal structure was also inconsistent with its current state.
Noel’s hands formed a seal in front of his chest.
"For now, I can alleviate its physical pain and purify a portion of the contamination. But for a complete cure, we’ll have to wait until I’ve concocted a medicine specifically targeting the source of Sun Ridge’s pollution."
Noel’s experiments were already two-thirds complete.
"You can cure me?" The Little Octopus perked up instantly. It shot out from the bottom of the pool, its round head hitting the ceiling with a loud THUD.
Its expression changed, and it quickly returned to the water.
In that brief moment, Yu Zhizhi also got a clear look. She hadn’t realized the Little Octopus had grown so large that the entire room could barely contain it.
"Yes," Noel replied without the slightest hesitation.
The source of pollution in Sun Ridge was incredibly severe.
If anyone else had said this, it probably wouldn’t have been very credible.
But Noel was different.
A smile appeared on Yu Zhizhi’s face. "That’s wonderful!"
’The Little Octopus’s mutation can be controlled!’
Noel glanced at the Rabbit Clan girl beside him and said, "I have something to tell you in private."
The Little Octopus was still immersed in the joy of being curable.
When it was first contaminated, what saddened it most was the thought of having to wander alone in the future, unable to be with the little rabbit anymore.
Now, hearing the black rabbit say it could be cured, it happily danced its tentacles in the water again.
Yu Zhizhi thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright."
There was a conference room on the ship.
It was currently unoccupied.
Yu Zhizhi led Noel there. The soldiers on the ship were all at their posts; no one dared to step out of line.
The conference room door was open. Noel said directly, "There’s a problem with its bones. You need to be careful of it."
"Who?" Yu Zhizhi didn’t react for a second.
"The octopus," Noel said.
"What... what kind of problem?"
Hearing Noel’s words, Yu Zhizhi couldn’t help but feel nervous.
’Does the Little Octopus have another illness?’
’Is it serious?’
Noel’s voice was slightly hoarse. "There’s no precise diagnosis yet, but what I can confirm is that its skeletal structure... doesn’t match its actual condition."
"What you’re seeing now might not be its true form."
Yu Zhizhi didn’t understand.
But she could tell that Noel meant the Little Octopus was somewhat dangerous.
Yu Zhizhi thought about everything she had been through with the Little Octopus on their journey. Even after its mutation, its first instinct was to hide itself away...
’Would a creature like that really hurt her?’
"Thank you for telling me," Yu Zhizhi said softly.
Regardless, she was very grateful that Noel had told her this.
"I’ll be careful."
Outside the conference room, Buli knocked on the open door. "Ms. Zhi Zhi, the Snake Clan has sent a guard to escort Lord Noel to the Holy Tower."
The Holy Tower.
A forbidden place in Silan City.
The only one who could have given such an order was the Duke.
Noel rubbed the bridge of his nose, his tone weary. "Understood."
’That most respected elder of the Snake Clan... this time, he’ll probably be wishing for death but unable to find it.’
Noel left the warship.
Yu Zhizhi’s mind was filled with what he had just said about the Little Octopus. Noel’s personality wasn’t one to make such jokes.
Seeing her agonizing alone in the conference room, Buli waited patiently at the door.
「Meanwhile.」
The Holy Tower.
On the highest floor, an ethereal blue flame burned fiercely.
An elder of the Snake Clan was bound to an execution rack. The bone-chilling iron chains were stained with blood, and he looked to be on the verge of death.
