A call came from the Undersea Palace!

Joy filled Yu Zhizhi’s heart. She couldn’t wait to answer the video call.

Shen He leaned back, crossing his legs. "Answer it."

An image appeared on the conference room’s large screen.

It was the Undersea Palace. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, schools of fish swam in one direction through the deep blue sea. A magnificent crystal chandelier hung in front of the glass, and a brown leather sofa sat before a dark wooden desk below.

Seated on the sofa was the Mermaid Youth, dressed in a white aristocratic uniform. The undersea light cascaded around him like moonlight, making his features shine like stars. He looked up just as the video connected, his beautiful, delicate face filling the large screen. The moment Yu Zhizhi saw Yusen, her breath caught in her throat.

"Sensen..." she murmured.

She had expected to see Sui Sui, so she was surprised when Yusen appeared first.

Though they had been in frequent contact since she returned to her territory, it was mostly via text. It had been a long time since Yu Zhizhi had actually seen him.

Beside her, Shen He interjected coldly, "Why is it you?"

Buli had contacted the Undersea Palace; the video call was supposed to be with the Mermaid Baby.

Yusen paid Shen He’s question no mind.

He simply looked at Yu Zhizhi on the screen and said softly, "The end of the month... is almost here."

The date on the invitation was drawing closer by the day, and Yusen had been waiting in anticipation.

"Can you make it back?" he asked seriously.

Yu Zhizhi was overjoyed to see Yusen. A faint smile touched her lips as she nodded emphatically in response to his question. "Mhm!"

’I can definitely make it back!’

’If I get back to the Sky Star Territory by the end of the month, our agreed-upon date will be right around the corner.’

Yusen said, "Once I’m done with things here, I’ll come find you."

"Okay~"

The smile on Yu Zhizhi’s face grew even brighter at the thought of reuniting with Sensen soon. Then, she suddenly remembered the Mermaid Baby—

"How is Sui Sui? Is he okay?"

Yusen replied, "He took his medicine and went to sleep. His condition is stable for now."

"What’s his illness?" Yu Zhizhi asked, a little worried.

"The Mermaid Clan’s growing pains," Yusen said reassuringly. "I’ll let you know the moment he wakes up, alright?"

"Okay. In that case, I’ll wait here."

Yu Zhizhi couldn’t rest easy. She needed to see Sui Sui with her own eyes.

The two of them chatted as if no one else was there. Shen He tapped his fingers on the tabletop and looked at Yusen on the screen. "It’s getting late. You should rest."

Yusen completely ignored him and suddenly asked, "You went to Sun Ridge before?"

"Yeah, I did."

"Can you tell me about it? I’ve always wanted to go to Sun Ridge, but I never had the time. What’s it like? Is it as terrifying as the rumors say?"

Yu Zhizhi recalled, "It’s always stormy there, and the rain is contaminated, so you can’t touch it. You can see contaminated Beastmen everywhere, wars are breaking out in many places, and I even ran into... smugglers."

At the mention of smugglers, Yu Zhizhi felt a pang of guilt.

Shen He was sitting right across from her.

He had been investigating smugglers from the Deep Sea Empire.

Yusen listened intently. "Was it the temple messenger who took you?"

"And Silan City? How has your stay been these past two days?" Yusen completely ignored Shen He’s smirk, showing no intention of ending the call.

He had learned what happened in Silan City almost immediately.
