Yu Zhizhi remembered this.

She soothed him softly, "Grey, we’re about to talk to Master Spider. Can you stop crying for a bit, okay?"

The Spider cub looked up, sobbing. Its black eyes were brimming with tears, but after hearing her words, it sniffled hard and swallowed its tears.

Hearing this, Yusen walked over to the little rabbit, squatted down, and picked up the little whale.

The little whale’s crying stopped abruptly. It pouted, little pearls still rolling down its cheeks.

Yu Zhizhi caught one with her finger. "Sui Sui~ Once the call is over, I’ll take you outside to play, okay?"

Hearing that it could go outside and play, the Mermaid cub gradually stopped crying.

The parlor returned to its previous quiet.

Ai Xi initiated the call to Paradise.

Yu Zhizhi sat down on the white sofa, cradling the Spider cub in both hands. The large, floating screen before her connected, revealing the top of the Paradise Lighthouse. A slender figure stood with his back to her at the edge of the railing, gazing into the distance. The cold wind billowed through his black shirt, and for a moment, Yu Zhizhi thought he looked lonely and desolate.

’Who is that?’

She didn’t say it out loud.

The camera slowly panned around to the front. Louis, who had been staring down at Paradise, lifted his gaze. His eyes were tender and affectionate, as if the feeling he had just exuded was a mere illusion.

Looking at the man on the big screen, Yu Zhizhi called out softly, "Louis~"

The Spider cub in her hands also raised a leg, as if to greet its father.

Yusen stood to the side, leaning against the wall with the little whale in his arms. His ice-blue eyes watched the large screen dispassionately. He just knew it would be Louis.

Louis looked at the little female of the Rabbit Clan on the screen, his tone gentle. "Is he well-behaved?"

The Spider cub immediately straightened its back and said in a tiny voice, "I’m being very good, Father."

Yu Zhizhi nodded in agreement. "The little cub is being very good. I just gave him a name—Grey Jade~"

Louis glanced at the Spider cub in the young woman’s palm. "Jade?"

Few people would associate an ugly spider with jade.

The little female’s fondness for the Spider cub was plain to see.

Louis said, "The hunting season in Paradise is about to begin. Can the cub stay with you for a while longer?"

"Of course," Yu Zhizhi couldn’t have been happier for the Spider cub to stay in her territory. She stroked the Little Spider’s head with her finger. "Little Grey can stay as long as he wants."

Louis asked, "Will he disturb you... and your bonding with Prince Yusen?"

Ah.

Yu Zhizhi froze for a moment.

Her first reaction was to look at Yusen. The Mermaid Youth was staring at Louis on the screen, a smile in his voice. "You send him over knowing he’ll be a bother, yet you’re not afraid something might happen to him. A Beast cub this small, without its father’s protection, could die at any moment, you know."

It was a veiled threat.

Louis responded with a smile, "With you there, how could anything happen to him? You are, after all, the inheritor of the Glacier Talent."

A talent born for protection.

Yu Zhizhi nodded along.

’That’s right. Sensen’s Glacier Ability has saved me several times.’

The little whale looked at the strange man on the screen, then back at his own father. He seemed to understand what they were saying and chewed on his tail fin in frustration.

Yusen looked away. Although he was annoyed with Louis, he didn’t want to say too much with the little rabbit present.

As for the Spider cub—

Whether it was seeing him or hearing the little rabbit give him a name, Yusen felt a pang of jealousy.

’Louis, ha.’ Yusen knew that compared to the Lord of Paradise and Lou, the little rabbit was most dependent on the Louis personality. They were close, living together day and night in places he couldn’t see, even sharing life-and-death situations.

But he didn’t detest the Spider cub.

Perhaps it was because half of the blood flowing in his body was the little rabbit’s.

In the Beast World, bloodlines were precious, and it was extremely rare for someone to send their cub away from their own territory.

Louis had likely sent the Spider cub over so brazenly, betting that Yusen would protect him right alongside the little Rabbit Clan female’s cub.

"Louis—" Yu Zhizhi suddenly called his name, hesitating for a moment as if trying to organize her thoughts.

But Louis knew what she was going to ask.

He said softly, "Don’t worry, they’re all fine. We’ll come find you when we have time. I hope Prince Yusen will still be there then."

Yusen’s blue eyes lifted slightly. "Don’t you worry. I’ll be here."

Yu Zhizhi didn’t notice the undercurrent of tension between the two. She just thought Louis and Yusen seemed to get along well, just like when the three of them lived together in the little wooden cabin on Zero Star Street.

’I’m so excited.’

’I really want to see Louis and the others.’

She couldn’t help but say softly, "Please come soon."

Louis: "Alright."

The call ended.

Yu Zhizhi planned to take the little whale and the Spider cub outside to play.

She walked to the door of the parlor and saw the Mermaid Youth standing to one side, silently staring at the floor.

"Sensen?" Yu Zhizhi moved closer to him.

Yusen looked up at her, a hint of resignation in his expression. He reached out and hooked his pinky around the Rabbit Clan female’s. "For the sake of this bonding, I’ve postponed many duties, hoping to spend an unforgettable honeymoon with you. Zhi Zhi, please don’t let them interrupt us, okay?"

Yusen wasn’t worried about the other males.

He could sense that the little rabbit usually couldn’t get away from them fast enough.

But Louis alone was special.

Even though they’d had a brief time as a trio, Yusen’s heart was screaming with the desire to possess her all to himself.

Louis’s existence filled him with a sense of crisis.

One glance into Yusen’s blue eyes was enough to make her drown, to make her unable to refuse any of his requests. "Okay."

Just as she responded, Yu Zhizhi’s heart skipped a beat.

Louis would respect any decision she made.

But—

That Big Tiger from the Moon Rising Empire... he had shown up uninvited before. After leaving his mark, he could arrive in her territory at any time.

’This bonding with Yusen...’

’Given the Big Tiger’s personality, he probably wouldn’t show up in public.’

’But... his affection level would probably drop.’

Yu Zhizhi carried the Spider cub outside the castle, her mind still preoccupied. She placed the Spider cub in a flowerbed and watched as it found a hidden corner to hide in, its head bobbing as if it were chewing on leftover crackers.

The little whale also began to play joyfully.

It "accidentally" rolled near the Spider cub and stared at him menacingly.

The Little Spider was startled.

Compared to the doll-sized little whale, the palm-sized Spider seemed tiny.

The Spider cub stared blankly at it.

The little blue whale flicked its tail. "CHEW CHEW! A-CHEW, A-CHEW!"

The cubs of the Mermaid Clan possess human blood, so their maturation period is longer than that of other Beast Clans. He couldn’t speak yet and could only use simple sounds to express his emotions.

Although the little whale really disliked this grey rock for stealing his mother’s attention, he was, after all, his half-brother on his mother’s side.

’Let’s just play together then!’

Meanwhile, Yu Zhizhi had some questions she wanted to ask the system.

She called out in her mind:

’System, are you there?’
