Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 491 - 489: How Did They Ascend?
Chapter 491: Chapter 489: How Did They Ascend?
Celeste Grant’s gaze fell on Javier Sinclair’s face, and she couldn’t help but start laughing.
"Heh heh."
Seeing her laugh, Javier Sinclair looked up at her, confused. He glanced at his daughter, then back to Celeste, whispering, "My dear, what are you laughing about?"
Celeste Grant said, "There’s something on your face."
"Me?" Javier Sinclair froze. "What is it? Is it dirty? Impossible." ’How could there be anything on my face?’
She looked up at him, reaching out to touch his face, and said with a soft chuckle, "It’s not dirty."
Javier Sinclair raised an eyebrow slightly. "Then what else could be on my face?"
"There is something, really." Before he could speak, Celeste Grant continued, "I see gentleness on your face, and the tenderness of a doting father. You look like a man with a family in tow now. It doesn’t match your identity as the Archfiend."
Javier Sinclair was taken aback, a blush creeping onto his face. He shot her a look and muttered, "Are you complimenting me or making fun of me, my dear?"
"You’re the head of the Demon Realm. Who would dare make fun of you?" She took his arm and teased, "My dear husband, I just feel that you’re very reliable and make me feel safe. That’s a compliment."
Hearing his wife call him reliable gave him a great sense of accomplishment. He lifted his head slightly, a serious expression on his face. "Making you feel safe is what I ought to do." ’As a man, what good am I if I can’t even protect my own wife and child?’
He looked down at the daughter in his arms, then at his wife beside him, and said softly, "I will protect you both."
He had lived for too long. In those endless years, he had met Celeste Grant and had a child of his own. It was her appearance that brought color into Javier Sinclair’s world, teaching him the meaning of joy and sorrow, and letting him experience the happiness and warmth of a home.
She and their child were the warmth Javier Sinclair would protect with his life. They were his greatest vulnerability; touch them, and you die.
Once in Javier Sinclair’s arms, his daughter closed her eyes and fell asleep in just a moment. She looked so quiet and well-behaved. Every now and then, her little hands would stretch and twitch.
’My daughter is so beautiful,’ he thought. ’So well-behaved and cute, with her little round, chubby face.’
"Our daughter’s asleep."
Looking at his daughter in his arms, Javier Sinclair bent down to kiss her little hand and whispered, "Sleep well, my little princess."
Standing beside Javier Sinclair, Celeste reached out to gently stroke their daughter’s hair. "Put her in her crib. She was wailing just a moment ago, and now she’s fast asleep."
"Mm." Javier Sinclair grunted. Holding his daughter, he tiptoed to the crib. He bent down slightly to place the child in it, but just as he did, the little one’s eyes fluttered open a tiny bit.
As a doting father, the moment Javier Sinclair saw his daughter’s eyes open, he reached out and patted her gently. Sure enough, perhaps seeing her own father right there, she closed her eyes again.
Javier Sinclair thought of his son. ’Compared to my daughter, who cries at the drop of a hat, my son was much easier to raise. You could just put him down somewhere, and he would eat and sleep, sleep and eat, well-behaved from a young age. Still,’ he mused, ’she’s my only daughter. It’s no trouble to spoil her a little.’
He withdrew his hand very gently.
Celeste Grant reached for a blanket and covered their daughter with it.
To prevent their daughter from waking at the slightest sound, she raised her hand and set up a Barrier around the crib. This way, the baby wouldn’t hear any noise and could sleep peacefully.
The baby’s crib was placed not far from their own bed, and Celeste Grant usually took care of her personally. Of course, with handmaidens to help, raising a child wasn’t too tiring for her.
Speaking of raising children, she thought of Nerida again.
She walked to the edge of the bed and sat down, propping her hands on the mattress and leaning back slightly.
"Now that Fifi is dead, I feel so relieved."
Javier Sinclair sat down beside her, bracing one hand on the bed and turning to lean in close. "Don’t think about insignificant people. Think about me instead." As he spoke, he raised his other hand to caress her cheek.
Celeste Grant raised an eyebrow, her beautiful eyes fixed unblinkingly on his face.
"Archfiend... how do you want me to think of you?" As she spoke, one of her hands was already resting on his shoulder.
Before he could answer, Celeste Grant’s arm wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. "My love..." she purred, leaning close to his ear. "The night is long, and I don’t feel like Cultivation."
"Then let’s do something else."
Javier Sinclair’s eyes were locked on her face.
He grasped her slender waist and bent down to capture her lips with his.
His kiss was commanding as they embraced and fell onto the bed...
The bed curtains fell.
Veiling the room in intimacy.
A gentle night breeze drifted in through the window, carrying the faint scent of flowers.
"My love... your arms are so firm."
"If you like them, my dear, you can take a bite."
The faint sound of a man and a woman’s playful banter could be heard from the room.
...
Jocelyn Grant was dead.
The Golden Crow trio that had accompanied her mother were also dead.
Half a month later, she received news that Jocelyn Grant’s mother, Morvane, had fallen into Kaelan’s hands. After half a month of torment, her Primordial Spirit had completely dissipated.
As for Kaelan, there was no news of him either.
Celeste Grant guessed he had probably found a place to focus on his Cultivation, preparing to seek justice for his people later. ’As for why he hasn’t shown himself,’ she mused, ’he probably doesn’t want to cause us any trouble.’
After that, Celeste Grant’s life returned to peace. Her days were filled with nothing but looking after her child.
「Five years passed in the blink of an eye.」
During that time, her daughter began to babble and learn to talk.
She learned to say "Mommy" and call out "Daddy."
The day his daughter called him "Daddy," Javier Sinclair was so happy he picked her up and spun her around, exclaiming, "My dear, our daughter called me Daddy! She can talk!"
Seeing his goofy expression, Celeste Grant just smiled gently, patting his head. "Look at you, you’re silly with joy."
But when her daughter first called her "Mommy," Celeste couldn’t help but laugh as well, hugging her daughter and giving her a couple of kisses.
Her daughter began to walk unsteadily when she was a year old. At first, she would only move by holding onto a stool. The first time she truly walked was when her father came home from outside, carrying a rabbit. Their daughter let go of the stool and slowly toddled towards him.
"Daddy... bunny..."
"Daddy..."
Seeing his daughter wobbling towards him, he immediately froze, subconsciously holding his breath. He was afraid that if he so much as spoke, he might startle her and make her fall.
He bent down and held out his hands.
At last, his chubby daughter, taking steps with her little short legs, reached him and threw herself into his arms. Javier Sinclair immediately swept her up and happily gave her a couple of kisses.
"You’re amazing, my daughter! My Elise has learned to walk!"
"My daughter can walk! Excellent, excellent."
He happily held her up high, making little Elise Sinclair giggle. She probably didn’t understand why her daddy was so happy.
Javier Sinclair was so happy he started shouting Celeste Grant’s name. "Celeste! Celeste! Quick, look! Our daughter can walk! Hahaha! My dear, did you see? Our daughter is so amazing. She can walk!"
This must be the joy of being a father! At that moment, the Archfiend held his one-year-old daughter, laughing with a joy so pure and unrestrained it seemed almost common.
His laughter was completely unguarded.
