Chapter 342: Chapter 342 - All the food you need

Yunfeng ran around for a while before finally stopping.

"You... you ass." Muchen panting softly, one hand resting protectively over his belly as he tried to catch his breath.

"You okay. Does anything hurt?" Yunfeng worriedly got close.

The moment he got close enough, Muchen reached out, grabbed his face, and pinched his cheek hard.

"You idiot."

"Ow..."

His lover tried to pull away, but Muchen held on for another second before finally letting go.

His eyes were still dark with worry as they moved over Yunfeng’s face and then up to his black hair. Seeing his lover like this made his heart ache.

Yunfeng’s powers were gone, his hair had lost its usual white color, and there was no telling how long the strange effect would last.

What if he hadn’t been fast enough?

What if the zombie had managed to bite him?

Without his powers, Yunfeng could have died.

Muchen’s expression softened, and before Yunfeng could say anything, he stepped forward and wrapped both arms around him, hugging him tightly.

"Don’t risk yourself like that again," he whispered, his voice trembling slightly. "I can’t handle losing you. If you die, then I’ll also—"

Yunfeng quickly covered his mouth with a hard kiss.

Muchen’s eyes widened.

When Yunfeng finally pulled back, he held his face between his hands and stared seriously into his eyes.

"Don’t say that. Don’t you ever say that you will die." His voice was firm, almost angry. "I will protect you and our child forever. Do you understand? No matter what happens, I’ll find a way to come back to you."

He hugged Muchen again, pressing his face against his hair before placing several soft kisses against his cheeks.

Muchen’s eyes became slightly red.

"You’re really annoying," he muttered.

"I know."

"You nearly got yourself killed."

"I’m sorry, my love" Yunfeng lowered his head and rested against his forehead. "I’ll make sure to keep myself safe."

"Your hair is still black."

"I thought you liked my black hair."

"I like your white hair more..."

Muchen sniffed and wiped his face before Yunfeng could see the tears gathering there. He rubbed his cheeks so hard that they quickly turned red.

"Do you want to see our new home?" Yunfeng cupped his cheeks

Muchen blinked. "Our home?"

"Yes."

Muchen looked slightly more interested now. "If it’s not up to my standard, you have to buy me a new home."

His lover laughed. "Fine."

"Wait." Muchen suddenly frowned. "I can buy it with my own money. I don’t need you to buy me anything."

Saying that, he turned around and started walking away with exaggerated dignity.

Yunfeng stared at his back for a few seconds before laughing again. He quickly caught up, grabbed Muchen by the shoulders, and turned him around.

"Our house is this way," he whispered right beside his red ear.

Muchen’s entire face turned even redder.

He immediately shoved Yunfeng away.

"I know! I just walked the wrong way!"

"Of course."

"Stop laughing!"

Still grinning, Yunfeng followed him.

They walked for a while before finally arriving in front of the mansion.

Muchen stopped.

It was huge.

The building had clearly once been beautiful, but months of neglect and the apocalypse had left their marks. The outer walls were worn and stained, with thick vines growing across several sections and climbing almost all the way to the roof.

A small garden surrounded one side of the mansion, though it had been left completely wild, with weeds and overgrown plants covering most of the ground.

The front gate had been broken open.

Even the main door looked as though someone had forced their way inside. The wood was blackened and partially burned.

Yunfeng’s expression immediately changed.

His body tensed.

"Stay behind me."

Muchen glared at him.

"You have no powers, remember?"

Yunfeng paused.

Muchen grabbed his arm and pulled him behind him instead.

"You stay behind me."

He pulled a gun from his pants and held it firmly in his hand as they approached the mansion.

Yunfeng looked at the gun, then at Muchen.

"You really don’t trust me anymore."

"I trust you. I don’t trust your luck."

"That makes no sense."

"It makes perfect sense."

They stepped inside.

The front porch was covered in dried blood.

Yunfeng’s expression became grim.

Inside, several bodies lay scattered across the floor. There were no signs of zombies. These people had been shot or stabbed, and judging from the state of the rooms, a fight had clearly taken place here.

Muchen tightened his grip on his gun.

Yunfeng crouched beside one of the bodies and examined it briefly.

"They’re human."

Muchen slowly looked around.

"The kitchen..."

They moved carefully toward it.

The entire kitchen had been ransacked. Cabinets had been ripped open, drawers were hanging crookedly, and broken dishes were scattered across the floor. There were more bloodstains near the doorway.

"They must have come here to loot the place," Yunfeng said with a sigh.

His gaze lingered on the bodies.

"Without my mother and Jai’s father here, things must have really gotten out of control."

Muchen didn’t answer.

He simply followed Yunfeng as they slowly made their way upstairs.

The first floor was in no better condition. Four rooms had been completely ransacked, with clothes scattered across the floor and furniture overturned.

Muchen looked around with a deep frown.

"Looks like we don’t have much to live here..."

He nudged aside a piece of clothing with his foot.

"Cleaning this place is going to be hard."

Yunfeng suddenly pushed past him.

Muchen immediately grabbed his arm.

"Whoa, where are you going?"

"Ow..."

The moment Muchen heard the pain in his voice, he immediately released him.

"Sorry. I didn’t control my strength."

Yunfeng rubbed his pink wrist with a helpless expression. "Its okay..."

He chuckled before turning back toward the hallway. "This place isn’t just a house." He walked toward the end of the corridor. "It’s also a storeroom."

Muchen followed him. "what?"

The walls near the end of the corridor were covered in dark bloodstains. Some of them looked old, while others were much darker, as though the struggle had happened more recently.

Yunfeng stopped in front of what looked like an ordinary section of wall.

He ran his fingers over it before finding a tiny notch.

"There."

He pressed it.

A small opening appeared in the wall, just large enough for a key.

Yunfeng stared at it.

Then his face fell.

"Fuck. I lost the key."

Muchen stared at him.

"You lost the key to your secret storeroom?"

"I didn’t think I’d need it after the apocalypse."

"You really are an idiot."

"Wait here."

Muchen stepped in front of him.

"Stay back."

Before Yunfeng could argue, Muchen raised his leg and kicked the hidden door.

The lock broke with a loud crack.

The door swung inward.

Both of them looked inside.

Muchen froze.

For several seconds, he didn’t say anything.

Then his mouth slowly fell open.

There were shelves everywhere.

Boxes were stacked from floor to ceiling. Several long rows of refrigerators and freezers lined the walls, every single one still powered and glowing with little green lights. Inside were frozen meats, vegetables, prepared food, and enough supplies to feed a small army.

There were even drinks.

Canned goods.

Rice.

Flour.

Medicine.

Even fresh food carefully packed away in the refrigerators.

Muchen slowly turned his head toward Yunfeng.

"You..."

Yunfeng looked just as stunned.

Muchen looked back at the endless rows of supplies.

Then he looked at Yunfeng again.

"You have a fucking grocery store inside your house!"
