Primordial Awakening: My Bloodline Evolves Infinitely
Chapter 134: Demonic Angel
Faster than a heartbeat, Harley’s face flushed red, her curly blonde hair tangling against itself as her emerald eyes went wide.
She was rendered speechless. She could only gulp audibly, her eyes dropping to the ground as she started to fidget uncomfortably.
Even Elizabeth was taken aback by the suggestive comment. Her otherwise peerless face blushed ever so slightly.
“S—So vulgar!” She bellowed.
“Eh?” Miranda blinked innocently. “But my Young Master is about to grace me with his precious essence. What could I possibly do besides gratefully accepting it?”
The blush on Elizabeth’s face intensified. She opened her mouth, then closed it again, no voice managing to escape.
“A—Again! Don’t phrase it in such a weird way!” She managed to retort in the end. “Plus, Leonard is missing an arm. What if the cure spills out onto the ground?!”
“Now that I think about it, you are right! It will be such a shame!”
Miranda wholeheartedly agreed and clasped her palms before her face.
“Come on, Young Master. Don’t leave me hanging and pour it deep. I will make sure to swallow it all, without wasting a single drop!”
“…”
Leonard stared at the maid kneeling before him and then threw a glance at the two girls.
Harley’s fidgeting grew more restless, her eyes wandering anxiously across the room in panic, not settling on anything for more than a second.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s expression was a strange mixture of irritated fuming and embarrassed blush. Until now, he had never seen the demeanor of the Ice Queen so thoroughly shattered.
‘Without a doubt, Miranda is playing with them… It’s rare for her to tease anyone, so she has probably taken a liking to both of them. Otherwise, there is no other way to explain it.’ He thought.
Leonard shifted his eyes back to her. Miranda didn’t break eye contact the entire time. Her soft tongue remained patiently stuck out in anticipation.
For a moment, he wondered if his loyal maid had escalated things just a tad bit too far.
“Give it to me, Young Master. I will get thirsty at this rate.” Miranda added.
‘Yeah, too far… Pure thoughts… Pure thoughts…’ Leonard’s body began to feel slightly heated, and he was forced to steady himself with deep breaths.
Wishing to get it over with already, he tilted the veil to the side and let the Essence of a Crimson Heart slowly drip into Miranda’s mouth.
Miranda felt the refreshing liquid trickling down her throat, her eyes widening in disbelief.
True to its rank, the taste of the cure was heavenly, without a doubt the most delicious drink she had ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
‘Is she panting? Must be the effect of the cure.’ Leonard figured.
Soon enough, the veil was emptied, allowing Harley and Elizabeth to breathe out the air they had been subconsciously holding.
“Ah…”
Once the last drop landed on her tongue, a flash of regret passed through Miranda’s eyes.
“I wish there was a little more.” She admitted, elegantly licking her full lips, already missing the sensation.
“Miranda… Please…” Leonard covered his eyes with a palm, obscuring his reddening face.
“Sorry, I just couldn’t help it.” Miranda admitted with a giggle, rising to her feet.
“So…” Elizabeth cleared her throat awkwardly. “How do you feel?”
Miranda didn’t reply immediately, scanning her palms. She felt her Heavenly Bloodline surging through her veins, along with the slow remodeling of her mana pathways.
“I—”
She began, only to suddenly feel lightheaded. Losing her balance, she fell to the side.
“Miranda!” Leonard called out and caught her in a flash. Even through the fabric of her clothes, he could feel her rapidly rising temperature.
“You are burning!”
Miranda’s cheerful smile grew forced.
“The cure… is more painful than I expected.” She said, short of breath. “F—Forgive me, Young Master, but I don’t think I will be able to accompany you in that state.”
“Like I was expecting you to anyway.” Leonard frowned before gently settling her onto the bed. “Until the procedure is over, you’re not allowed to get up. Understand?”
“But… Young Master, I have to be at your side at all times.” She protested.
“It’s okay. I am not going anywhere.” He reassured her, gently caressing her head.
Miranda looked like she wanted to say something but, in the end, managed to give only a single word in reply.
“Okay…”
Then an agonizing pain assaulted her. She bit her lower lip, preventing herself from screaming, starting to lose and regain consciousness several times in a second.
Leonard put a hand over her chest to examine her state. He felt the mana surging inside her as her mana pathways disintegrated and reformed at the molecular level.
The pain she was experiencing was comparable to what he had endured when he awakened his Primordial Bloodline.
“Nothing left but to wait…” He groaned, going opposite her bed and sitting down with his back against the wall.
“That looks excruciating… almost like she is being tortured.” Harley remarked, seeing how much Miranda was struggling.
“Am I imagining it, or is the room getting hotter? Literally?” Elizabeth noticed a sudden spike in the temperature.
“Before she developed mana oversensitivity, Miranda was proficient in wielding flames.” Leonard explained, keeping his eyes on her. “With the cure administered, her powers seem to be emerging once again.”
“Is that so…” Elizabeth went over to Leonard and sat beside him.
Harley quietly did the same.
“What are you two doing?” Leonard arched an eyebrow. “There is no need to stay the whole time. I will keep watch over her.”
“Hmph! Stop acting tough! Didn’t we tell you we would be here just in case?!” Harley clicked her tongue.
“We haven’t rested ever since the attack on the fortress.” Elizabeth nodded. “We all need rest, you especially.”
Leonard scoffed.
“Ridiculous! There is no way I can rest while watching over Miranda!”
His eyes began to feel heavy.
“I…”
Before he knew it, his eyelids shut.
Zzzzz
Several hours later, he was stirred awake by a burning smell.
“Fire…?” He mumbled, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
“Fire!”
Startled, he yelled at the top of his lungs and stood up, waking the two girls beside him.
Leonard stared at Miranda’s body, which seemed to have turned into flames, her figure radiating light like a second sun.
“Miranda! Can you hear me?!”
His voice snapped Miranda back to consciousness, her eyes springing open and now shining with a luminous golden color.
“Young Master?” Miranda got up from the bed and blinked slowly, the room around her starting to melt under the heat she emitted.
She wasn’t doing it intentionally. In fact, it was simply the result of the mana her body emitted naturally without suppressing it.
“I am using mana without any problems…” She mumbled in astonishment.
“Miranda… your powers… It worked!” Leonard laughed happily. “The cure worked! Finally! Your condition shall limit you no longer!”
This was the greatest joy Leonard had ever experienced in his life.
“Flames so ferocious… They burn hotter than my ice powers could ever hope to freeze…” Elizabeth knew she was outclassed at a single glance.
“Damn, I knew Leonard’s maid was special, but this goes far beyond all of my expectations!” Harley gasped.
The Demonic Angel had regained her full powers!
