Chapter 3051: Chapter 84: The Blissful Master_4

At those words, the Nether Soul Hall patrol’s expressions finally relaxed a little.

After a brief round of questioning, they figured out what had happened, then promptly seized and detained the two swindlers.

The patrol captain bowed solemnly to Young Lord Lianxiang, who had stepped in to help, thanking him and promising that once the two scammers were sentenced, the reward money would be delivered to him. Only then did he lead his men away.

The patrol cultivators handled matters neat and clean, coming and going like the wind, and soon disappeared once more into the spatial rift.

Throughout the whole process, Senior Brother Youzong stood there like a stunned chicken.

He never imagined that his good intentions would be so shamelessly exploited by conmen. The "coffin savings" he’d scraped together with such difficulty had almost been swindled down to the last coin.

In the end, it was actually people from the Bliss Demon Sect who saved him! Young Lord Lianxiang... this debauched heretic whose name had been rising over the past two or three hundred years—what exactly was he after?

Could it be that he’s taken a fancy to Little Junior Sister?

In an instant, alarm bells clanged in Senior Brother Youzong’s heart. He hurriedly shielded Little Junior Sister Xuan Ying behind him, then bowed warily to Young Lord Lianxiang. "Many thanks for exposing the scam, Young Lord."

"Nangong Youzong, for better or worse, this young lord just helped you out—spared a pauper like you from having your already meager cultivation resources made even worse by a scam." Young Lord Lianxiang shook his folding fan, smiling with narrowed eyes. "Don’t treat me like a thief you need to guard against, hm~"

"You...!"

Senior Brother Youzong’s face changed; he hadn’t expected his identity to be recognized by the other party so easily.

In the Heavenly Dao Alliance, they kept a low profile in all external affairs to avoid stirring up disputes. Though Nangong Youzong was a Golden Immortal Seed of his generation, he rarely showed his face in public.

"Senior Brother... I’m so scared..." Little Junior Sister Xuan Ying was frightened too. She hid behind her senior brother, not daring to look at Young Lord Lianxiang, clutching tightly at the hem of his robe.

"Is he really that scary?" Liu Ruolan took Xuan Ying’s hand, soothingly patting it, then carefully examined Young Lord Lianxiang for a moment. "He looks decent enough. Just not as heroic and composed as my Senior Brother Wang Shouzhe."

"He’s Young Lord Lianxiang of the Bliss Demon Sect. I heard..." Little Junior Sister Xuan Ying, having recovered a bit of courage, was just about to explain.

But before she could finish, Young Lord Lianxiang cut in with a smile from across the way.

"Are you about to say that rumor about how I ’bed dozens of women every night’? And that whoever I lay eyes on once will become pregnant?"

"No, no, no... I heard there’s some sort of secret technique: if he looks at a woman just once, her soul will be hooked away by him and she’ll obediently listen to whatever he says." Little Junior Sister Xuan Ying whispered, glancing left and right with her eyes, doing everything she could not to look directly at Young Lord Lianxiang.

"Heh. If this young lord really had that kind of means, I’d have unified the world long ago and be Invincible under heaven." Young Lord Lianxiang said with a laugh. "Would anyone still dare gossip about me on the outside? Nangong Youzong, I did at least save your pitiful little fortune. And you’re just going to let your junior sister slander my chastity like this?"

"Well..." Senior Brother Youzong said helplessly as he turned back, "The Bliss Demon Sect is indeed on bad terms with our Heavenly Dao Alliance. But Senior Brother doesn’t believe those rumors either."

He paused, then bowed once more to Young Lord Lianxiang, thanking him sincerely. "Whatever the case, Young Lord, we are indebted to you for this matter."

"One line of thanks, and that’s it?" Young Lord Lianxiang said with a half-smile. "You should at least treat me to a meal, no? Let me get to know the young elites from the Purple Cloud Dao Sect of the North Shu God Continent."

As he spoke, his gaze landed on Wang Shouzhe, his wife, and Jiang Mu Xian, his eyes holding a trace of amusement and deeper meaning.

"Senior Brother Shouzhe, what do you think?" Senior Brother Youzong asked quietly.

"Why not?" Wang Shouzhe replied with a smile. "When traveling abroad, the more friends you have, the more paths open before you."

"Since that’s the case, let’s go to..."

Senior Brother Youzong was just about to suggest some cheap, good-value restaurant, when he was interrupted again by Young Lord Lianxiang.

"I can’t stomach that random slop. Right across the street there’s a restaurant run by our Blissful Divine Religion—Blissful Shop. Their dishes are fairly decent. And for this young lord’s sake, they can even give you a discount."

...Fine!

Senior Brother Youzong nodded helplessly.

Who told him to owe the man a favor?

Ever since ancient times, social debts have been the hardest to repay; this meal was something he had to treat them to, no matter what.

Since no one had any objections, the group naturally headed straight for Blissful Shop.

It was a grand, imposing pavilion suspended in midair, constructed from expensive Spirit Wood Material. The exterior was elegant and stately, the decorations exquisite and splendid, every detail revealing masterful craftsmanship.

However, Blissful Shop’s real fame didn’t come from its gorgeous pavilion, but from the cultivators serving as attendants inside. Each one was a handsome man or stunning beauty, each with their own unique charm; their speech was pleasant to the ear, always able to coax customers into feeling happy and carefree.

Young Lord Lianxiang swaggered in, leading them straight to the most expensive private room and ordering a huge spread of signature specialty dishes.

Every dish and every wine was extremely rare, with graceful songs and dances accompanying them for entertainment.

Wang Shouzhe, Liu Ruolan, and Little Junior Sister happily ate, watched the performances, and listened to the music, finding it all quite amusing.

Poor Senior Brother Youzong, on the other hand, felt his heart jolt with every platter that was brought in, unable to help mentally calculating how many Spirit Stones this had just cost him.

The more he calculated, the more he felt his heart bleeding.

At this rate of spending, it’d be better to have been scammed—at least he would’ve gotten to take home a fake treasure.

"Brother Shouzhe, that line you said earlier—’It’s not your past that decides your future, but your choices that decide your future’—was truly a thunderclap to the ears and deeply thought-provoking. A sentiment worthy of a huge toast." Young Lord Lianxiang clapped in applause. "It’s just a pity that this young lord has never liked being bound by old conventions and rigid rules. What I advocate is: ’My will wanders free beneath heaven; heaven is vast, earth is wide, but my will is greatest.’"
