Chapter 1650: Chapter 1639: The Villain’s Foster Mother

Feeling the intense gaze of Zhou Linxia, Ye Chuqing distractedly replied, "I haven’t really paid much attention to skincare, maybe it’s because I exercise quite a lot!"

Ye Chuqing actually understood in her heart that her good skin was thanks to Mom’s food therapy. She didn’t know how Mom did it, but all those celebrities said it was good. Not only did it make the complexion rosy, but it also prevented gaining weight. Others only ate it occasionally, not to mention she ate it every day.

If Mom’s personality hadn’t remained the same, she would have suspected that Mom had come from a magical space in a novel.

Zhou Linxia nodded thoughtfully, "Indeed, I see that people who practice yoga and run every day have good skin and can maintain their youth. I guess I should avoid being lazy in the future."

Watching her two daughters chat and laugh, Liu Meiqing had never felt so relieved. The loss of her younger daughter had always been a pain in her heart, but after over a decade, it was fortunate they found her, and she was much better than imagined.

The Zhou Family lived in the provincial capital, a few hours’ drive from A City. When they arrived at the Zhou Family’s place, it was just afternoon. Ye Chuqing looked at the luxurious villa in front of her, a bit dazed. Although she had guessed that her biological parents might be wealthy, she hadn’t expected such wealth. Just the front yard occupied about an acre or two.

"Qingqing, this is our home." Liu Meiqing and Zhou Linxia flanked her on either side. The housekeeper and maids stood on both sides to welcome her. Despite earlier attempts to remain calm, she was a little touched by the scene.

"Let’s go inside and see the room Mom prepared for you. Even though we don’t know what you like, we referred to your sister’s preferences, thinking that you both, as sisters, might have a lot of common interests."

Entering the villa, its interior was even more luxurious. She was momentarily disoriented. Many nights, she had dreamed of earning enough money to buy Mom a big house. The house she had imagined was already grand, but now it seemed that she had lacked experience and vision. Even big stars would have difficulty buying such a mansion!

The first floor was the kitchen and reception area. The Zhou Family’s Parents had prepared a room for Ye Chuqing on the second floor, right next to Zhou Linxia. The room was a suite, as large as the entire two-bedroom apartment where she and Ye Qiu lived, complete with a bedroom, walk-in closet, guest area, washing area, etc. A large balcony to the south allowed her to enjoy the flowers and breeze during leisure time.

The entire room’s decor centered around warm white and soft pink tones, with many places adorned with small decorations and plush toys, creating a particularly cozy atmosphere. Obviously, the Zhou Family had truly intended to welcome her home.

At that moment, even though Ye Chuqing previously had little affection for the Zhou Family, she couldn’t help but feel moved. Her throat tightened as she said, "Thank you."

Liu Meiqing and her husband Zhou Wanghui exchanged a smile, "As long as you like it. We’ve also prepared some clothes in the walk-in closet. Freshen up then come down for dinner."

"Alright."

"I picked the clothes, and if you don’t like them, we can go shopping again tomorrow," Zhou Linxia said with a gentle smile. "Anything else you don’t like can be changed too."

"They’re good, nothing I dislike."

When the Zhou Family left, Ye Chuqing secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Even though she knew her biological parents were genuinely kind to her, arriving in such a luxurious place for the first time inevitably made her a bit anxious.

She couldn’t help but think of Ye Qiu, wondering what her Mom was doing now. Was she also starting to think about her, just like she was?

Then Ye Chuqing pursed her lips, realizing that when she left, they didn’t even bother to send her off. How could they be thinking of her after being apart for such a short time?

Ye Chuqing’s mind started to revisit memories from childhood to adulthood. Maybe her Mom did love her eventually, but back when she frequently scolded and hit her, there was probably little emotion involved.

The most ridiculous part was that her Mom actually accepted money from the Zhou Family. Was she selling her off again? Whenever she thought about this, Ye Chuqing felt intensely stifled. Didn’t her Mom know how to fish in the long run? Knowing that she would return to the Zhou Family and possibly inherit their assets, did she still worry about not having enough money?

Ye Chuqing washed absentmindedly, as if trying to rinse out all the bothersome thoughts in her mind.

It was unclear whether today’s meal at the Zhou’s house was especially lavish or if it was always like this. There were just four of them, yet there were more than a dozen dishes. She remembered how at home, Mom’s meals were at most two dishes and a soup.

Watching Ye Chuqing’s dazed expression, the Zhou Family felt a wave of compassion, assuming she hadn’t tasted good food before.

"Eat more, you look thinner than your sister." Liu Meiqing diligently served her food, soon filling half a bowl. "I don’t know what you like, but you can tell the chef about your preferences in the future."

"Okay." Ye Chuqing nodded. Since morning, she hadn’t eaten anything and was indeed a bit hungry now. Plus, these dishes looked quite appealing, and the taste should be good, right?

However, when she took a bite, she paused for a moment. They looked delicious, yet tasted not even half as good as Mom’s casually made dishes. Was she too picky?

The family chef had won awards, and his skills were excellent. Wasn’t the food delicious?" Zhou Linxia turned her head to smile at her.

Ye Chuqing slowly nodded, without offering an opinion. She felt it wasn’t even half as tasty as Mom’s cooking, but seeing everyone agree it was good, she hesitated to contradict them. She had just arrived, and besides, Mom wasn’t here.

After over a dozen dishes, there seemed little change in the quantity despite being eaten by four people. Ye Chuqing watched and felt it was somewhat wasteful, but the Zhou Family seemed indifferent, clearly accustomed to it. Being wealthy, they naturally enjoyed a lifestyle of abundance.

Yet Ye Chuqing couldn’t help but think of Mom’s habit of cherishing ingredients. Sometimes she would devise several ways to cook one fish to avoid waste.

"Qingqing, do you have time tomorrow to change your surname?" Zhou Wanghui asked. "Of course, if you’re unwilling, that’s fine too. It’s just that introducing yourself as Ye might be hard to explain."

It finally came up, huh?

Actually, Ye Chuqing felt somewhat resistant. After all, it was a name used for over ten years, given by Mom. But as her biological father said, how could she explain it to others in the future?

Thinking of the love the Zhou Family showed after returning home, Ye Chuqing softly nodded, "I’m used to being called Chuqing, can I just change the last name?"

Zhou Wanghui and Liu Meiqing both smiled contentedly, "Of course, everything will be based on your wishes."

Zhou Linxia hugged Ye Chuqing’s shoulders and laughed, "In the future, we can introduce ourselves as the Zhou Family’s sister duo to others."
