[R18] King's Domination
Chapter 403: The Queen and the Prime Minister’s Talk
After the Queen finished the report to the king she had heard reports about Hero Summoning from several people. Because depending on the person what they say differs or subjectivity enters largely and things fairly different from fact were said.
Only what was common among those she interviewed was that everyone had not yet woken from the excitement of having summoned. But for some reason only palace magic corps head Hütter could not be met. From the day after the summoning rite his whereabouts seem to have become unknown. Hütter is a person who can be called the extreme of an eccentric so one day he suddenly vanishes, whereabouts unknown for several months, and again suddenly appears without a guilty look. Giving Hütter the post of palace magic corps head is like a convenience to tie Hütter to the Mainz Kingdom.
First prince Green’s excitement has not yet settled even three days after the summoning. She met him with mother third consort Isabel present but he started talking endlessly of the talk from the preparation stage about the summoning. Putting out a result everyone recognizes seems truly glad and he talks with his face bright red. Isabel is looking at that with an anxious face. Past twenty and still a prince worried by his mother, how as a king eventually, there is that thought but the other princes are of similar make so if only a good aide is attached the Queen thought while hearing the talk. This prince’s greatest problem would be the place he wants to talk. Talking endlessly of things that do not matter she thought.
Last it was decided to meet Prime Minister Cromwell. This was also because the prime minister was busy but because the Queen thought to meet the prime minister after hearing the others’ talk.
Unlike the others the prime minister is not elated and rather looks perplexed.
"Hero Summoning itself I think went roughly well."
At the prime minister’s words the Queen
"Though you say it went well why is the prime minister’s expression not good?"
At the Queen’s question the prime minister’s temple moves pikuri.
"What went well is only the summoning and no, even the summoning has a problem."
Though everyone is praising without reserve for some reason the prime minister says there was a problem.
"Where do you say there was a problem?"
"First being unable to summon a saint."
A saint? That was the first hearing. No one had touched the saint. Whether they dared not touch or an intent not to let the Queen hear cannot be known.
"I heard the hero’s companions were summoned but was it different?"
"Certainly the hero’s companions were summoned. Hero, sage, warrior."
"Then there is no problem?"
"Certainly there is no problem. Three men were summoned and ones holding this hero’s title are summoned."
"What of that is a problem?"
"A woman was summoned together but that woman’s title was musician."
"What is a musician?"
"One of an occupation that plays instruments I hear."
"Well is there not that kind of thing too?"
"If all were ones who take a tolerant view like Your Majesty it would be fine but the church’s ones are different."
"The church what?"
"According to the scriptures they hold in past Hero Summoning hero, sage, warrior and saint are recorded summoned as one set."
"That saint why was a musician?"
"Yes. The high priest who came from the divine country is greatly angry at a musician being summoned and relations with the Sophia Divine Country seem likely to worsen."
"Why do relations worsen with that much? The ones who called the heroes are the Mainz Kingdom and not the Sophia Divine Country, yes? The Sophia Divine Country cooperating on this summoning is only about lending that stone, is it not?"
"That is so. But according to information that leaked from around the high priest the high priest if a saint was summoned seems to have intended to enclose the saint in the church and take her to the Sophia Divine Country as is."
"Well what a thing. Even that alone relations of both countries worsen enough? But taking the saint to the divine country what did they intend to do?"
"Somehow they seem to have intended to make her the pope’s wife."
"The pope’s wife? How old was the current pope?"
"That is not revealed but I think a considerable age. But if a saint descended for the first time in a long while securing that in the divine country and making her the pope’s wife seems an intent the divine country had as natural."
"That is a talk that makes the mood bad somehow."
"That is so. They only lent the stone. If a saint they seem to have thought to snatch her. Even kidnapping they seem to have thought to take her to the divine country."
"A terrible talk. What they want is only the title of saint, yes?"
"As you say. Without thinking of wounding our country’s face or relations worsening they seem to have thought anyway to take the saint into the divine country and enshrine her."
The prime minister largely sighs haa.
"A troubled divine country. Well it did not start now."
"Yes. Completely."
"But why could a saint not be summoned?"
At the Queen’s question the prime minister is perplexed.
"Well why?"
"From past cases a saint being summoned is natural, yes?"
"It seems that kind of thing. Hütter said so too and the high priest said so. Even at worst a shrine maiden and such being summoned would not be strange he said."
"But she was not summoned. Strange..."
The Queen sinks into thought. The prime minister is waiting for the Queen to say something. From the prime minister whatever the reason is fine. A saint not summoned and being a musician is already a thing that does not matter. Thinking that kind of thing itself is a waste of time and there are many other things to think.
After a while the Queen
"Perhaps it may be so!"
says. For form the prime minister matches the talk.
"Was there something that occurred?"
"Yes, one thing occurred. Faith. If there is no faith at all toward Sophia God a god would not certify a saint, yes?"
"Certainly I understand the meaning you say but then if the saint summoned long ago was certified by Sophia God did the saint hold faith toward Sophia God?"
"If said so that is so. Faith in Sophia God in a different world cannot be thought, fuum."
Again the Queen sinks into thought. After diving into her own world a while the conclusion the Queen put out
"Understood! Surely the previous saint was one of thick faith even in the world before being summoned. But the ones summoned this time are ones of thin faith or lacking!"
The Queen asserted but the prime minister with an expression of unable to believe at all
"Surely there is no such thing? Even saying faith is thin do they not do that obvious thing of going to church every week and offering faith to a god? Daily putting a god’s holy words in the mouth and thanking a god’s blessings, do they not do that obvious thing?"
The prime minister himself does not think his faith is that thick. Even so he does about what he put in the mouth. He thinks that is natural.
"Prime Minister, that is your life and there would be ones who do not do that?"
Told by the Queen the prime minister certainly thinks there are that kind of ones around too. The Queen suddenly held interest in that musician girl.
"Prime Minister, I want to meet that girl once?"
"Your Majesty, I am sorry. That girl since the day after the summoning seems not to have come out from the room. Every day she is crying through and seems only saying return me to the original world."
"Ha? What, then what are they doing?"
"It cannot be helped so they put in meals and are watching the state I hear. Prince Green said she will come out from the room in time."
"Haa..."
The Queen was amazed.
