The organizers were cursing Aiden inside their minds. He did not have to be a mind reader to be able to tell what kind of curses he was getting.

Unfortunately for them, he was a hard-headed bastard who did not care about such curses. He also liked the fact that these people were afraid of his and Goddess Apophis’s powers.

’Goddess Apophis, what would you like to do with these low-lives once we are done here? They did try and screw us over.’

Aiden asked, wanting to know what his Goddess thought about all this.

’Tsk, these low-lives are not worth our presence. But letting them leave without paying a price also does not sit well with me. I will leave what to do up to you.’

Well, it seemed like Aiden had a decision to make.

Now that he knew that his goddess was not opposed to him taking revenge, there was a lot Aiden wanted to try out.

But before that, the final match was about to begin.

Aiden dropped his resonance, and since he only had it up for a minute or two, his body felt only slightly shaky. The match time also allowed him to recover a little bit.

It was a match that Sasha should have won because of her half-divine nature. But she clumsily attacked Caelion, who avoided her attack before knocking her out.

"It seems like our young half-phoenix has not awakened yet. But it makes sense if she was abandoned. After all, Phoenixes awaken when they fall in love. It does not matter what kind of love. Usually, they awaken due to a bond between parents and child and form a lifelong pact."

Ah, then there was no way an abandoned child like this would awaken.

But what if Aiden brought her back and the child awakened because of Goddess Apophis? Well, it was clear to see why the system had given him the mission of helping this child.

As for the competition, it was finally over. But the organizer looked bitter and did not move to retrieve the prize.

Cough

Aiden looked at the organizer, who noticed his presence and flinched. The look in Aiden’s eyes made the organizer move, and he held the small pendant with God Vaelor’s authority toward Caelion.

"Here, this is yours."

The organizer tried to quickly get them out of here once the tournament finished, and Aiden gestured for Caelion to store the necklace for now.

With one last look behind (and at Sasha), it was time for them to leave.

The reason Aiden felt comfortable leaving Sasha like this and not talking to her was because of the look in her eyes.

She was looking at Caelion, more specifically, his necklace, with eyes that looked ready to steal it. Would someone like this truly leave them alone?

Aiden was certain they were going to get a visitor tonight.

...

"Caelion, you need to slowly absorb this power. Let me know if you feel off anytime or if the powers inside you start to clash."

The ex-slave nodded as he took a deep breath and started to absorb the power in that necklace. The foreign power of God Vaelor coursed through his veins, contradicting Goddess Apophis’s powers, but they quickly started to settle down.

Aiden carefully watched Caelion to see when he could help out when he felt a small presence gawking at the end of his senses.

Sasha had finally decided to pay them a visit. But Aiden did not want to leave Caelion alone and check up on her.

’Go. I will keep an eye on Caelion to ensure he is fine.’

Goddess Apophis assured Aiden, and he nodded before putting her down on the bed and heading out.

This time, neither he nor his goddess was worried about him, and it was because Aiden had a way to protect himself with resonance.

Since Sasha’s powers were sealed, Aiden won’t need a lot of help anyway. He was sure he could handle the weakness that came with it...

And if worse came to worst, he could always shoot the kid...

"How long are you going to keep hiding? I already noticed your presence, so you might as well come out now."

Aiden pointed out, and the kid did not come out at first. But when Aiden picked up a rock and threw it inches away from where Sasha was hiding, she decided to come out with a serious look on her young face.

"So, what do you want from me?"

Aiden asked the kid, who was trying her best to look important and mature. But no matter what she did, Aiden was not going to see her in an adult light.

"I would like to propose a deal with you. I want you to hand over God Vaelor’s blessing to me. In return, I will give you one thing from my possessions. Before you reject me, why don’t you take a look at what I have?"

The kid asked, and Aiden decided to humor her.

"Alright, I am willing to take a look."

The kid opened her pouch, and there was money there, along with a few artifacts. But the most incredible thing was the phoenix feather, which was used in a few high-class potions.

It was said that a potion with phoenix feather and phoenix tears could cure any illness. So in that sense, it was a magic ingredient for most people.

But Aiden had the store where he could not only get the phoenix feather but also a lot more.

’Unfortunately for this kid, she chose the wrong target. I wonder what expression she will make when I reject her?’

Aiden took a look at the kid’s proud face as she held her pouch open. She likely expected him to go for the phoenix feather outright.

’Well, sorry kid! But not only do I not need the phoenix feather, but I also know that you have an unlimited supply of it because you are a half-phoenix. I am not going to get scammed here. And especially not by a brat as young as you.’
