Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 164: Ch 163: Young Master who lost his mind
It took a few hours for Marsha’s butler to assign Kael to the kitchen.
A simple disguise spell was enough for everyone to overlook him, and he blended in with the crowd like a normal worker. No one even questioned him when he showed up at the allotted time to deliver the food to the captive young heir.
Rather, they all looked relieved when Kael told them that he was here to take their young master’s food to him.
The cook shoved the food toward Kael with a thankful yet authoritative look on his face.
"Make sure you don’t spill anything in here. And don’t try to take a bite either. It’s laced with powerful sedatives. One small bite and you will be out for a long time. And if the young master refuses the food, leave it outside his door. Don’t try to force your way in."
There was no guilt on the head chef’s face when he told Kael this. In fact, none of the servants looked like they cared that they were sedating their young master.
Kael carefully took the offered food and headed toward the mansion’s secluded section, where Gladion Noelle was currently being kept.
It immediately became evident when he entered the forbidden section because there was a barrier separating both sides. And the air inside the secluded area felt heavier to breathe.
’Maybe the servants don’t avoid coming here simply because of the young heir. This heavy air must be adding to their discomfort.’
But it was not a problem for Kael.
He followed the verbal instructions he had been given and ended up in front of the young heir’s door.
"Sir Gladion, I am here with your food. May I enter?"
Kael asked, knocking on the door. But there was no answer from inside.
Based on the number of uneaten plates outside the door, it was clear that he was not the first servant to be rejected.
"Young Master, I am coming in."
Kael ignored the warning he had received from the chef and slowly opened the door. His magic sensed movement inside the room, and he instinctively formed a barrier around himself.
The chair that had been thrown at him bounced off the barrier, and the angle made it look as though it had ricocheted off the door.
Kael was unharmed, but he could now understand why the other servants had looked afraid to come here. It was not the heavy air they feared, but the threat of being attacked.
"Get out of my room! I told you all to leave me alone if you’re not going to help me!"
A man who looked about Lady Marsha’s age rasped those words before he staggered, his legs threatening to give out beneath him.
The young master weakly trying to intimidate Kael was Gladion Noelle, the next heir of this family.
"Hey, what are you looking at? I told you to get out right now! Did you not hear me?"
The young man asked, sounding frustrated, and Kael carefully observed him.
When he had first heard about this situation, he had expected Gladion Noelle to be cursed. Or worse, possessed by someone. He had also considered the possibility that Gladion was someone from the future, like him.
But looking at him made it clear that there was nothing wrong with him. Then, could it have been a mental illness?
"Did you not hear me? Get out-!"
Young Master Gladion came closer and grabbed Kael’s collar to throw him out. But the second he crossed a certain distance, the bed bindings snaked around the young master and bound him.
"Let go of me! These people...they don’t know that they’re in danger! Why does no one believe me?"
Kael carefully observed the young lord, and he could tell that the young heir needed help.
"Young Master, did no one believe your words? To make them believe, you need evidence to support your claims. If you give me evidence, then I can try to help you."
Kael pointed out, and for the first time, Gladion calmed down and looked at him with a wide-eyed expression.
"You...you’re not going to say my claims are ridiculous? Are you seriously willing to believe me?"
Gladion’s eyes were filled with wonder and relief. He suddenly looked like a proper young master, and Kael had a strange feeling that he could trust Gladion’s words.
His instincts hardly ever led him astray, so Kael was willing to believe them. But he still needed evidence before he could present Gladion’s claims to others.
"Young Master, I may be new, but I feel like I can put my faith in you. So please, tell me where I can find the evidence."
Kael asked, and Gladion’s eyes narrowed. He looked reluctant to trust Kael, but in the end, he decided to place his faith in him.
"I am going to tell you where you can find the evidence and how to get it. But you have to be quick and make sure you are not discovered. There’s a safe in my father’s private library. Open it, and you’ll find something inside. That thing is going to bring calamity upon these lands. I-I saw it...in that flash. I saw the future. It was all so dark-"
The young lord looked terrified as he clutched his sides, unable to hide his fear. Kael felt sorry for him, but right now, securing the evidence was his highest priority.
"I understand. I’ll make sure to find that evidence and bring it before everyone. So just wait for me."
Kael assured the young master before finally leaving the room.
At first, he had genuinely considered breaking the young master out of his confinement and sneaking him away. But he had changed his mind once he learned that there was evidence he could retrieve.
"Who knew I’d be sneaking around a noble’s mansion like a thief? Now, should I share this news with the others or not?"
Kael asked himself, but decided against it for now. First, he wanted to get a better grasp of the situation himself.
